1. Christ, some of you people have good memories, how many of my ludicrous opinions are going to come back and bite me in the arse when I don't even remember saying them? Acceptable? Top 6 and a cup (I subscribe to the propaganda!) but we need to be challenging for the 4th spot right to the end. 35184 If Souness wins a cup (and I think he just might) he will become a legend by virtue of the fact that noone else has managed it in nearly 40 years. Acceptable for me would be a top 6 finish. The season after that, top 4.
2. To be fair, the worst place I've been to was on the outskirts of Middlesbrough. There were bars in the Chip shop to protect the staff.
3. No, not really mate. I've put across my reasons as best I can but the last comment's clearly tongue in cheek. I can understand why ScaryCatLady has reacted like that when she feels personally about it, plus being a woman she'll have certain disadvantages I have to take into account. 35173 I was only arsing about too though! As for those womanly "disadvantages"......watch your back, this could get messy!
4. FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!
5. Like I say, familiarity. I had my studio in Hackney for a while, and it was certainly a bit shady, but I felt like I'd be ok. You're right, there are areas of London that are very scary. Maybe I feel that in Newcastle, everywhere is a bit intimidating? It seems that the different cultures are too close together, so it's harder to avoid the trouble?
6. Just my experience, though to be fair, in London, it's easier to avoid the bad areas as it's so much bigger. The tube though is a relatively safe place and there are a lot of staff. Still, the point about brawling IS true. It seems much more likely in Newcastle than out and about in central London. 35106 Well, you should have said Central London then shouldn't you 35118 Ok, fair point! BUT, if you include the outskirts of Newcastle, I think the picture gets even worse... Maybe it's familiarity but feck, there are places in Newcastle that make me want my mummy.

8. I noticed something when I was in Oz. They have a similar culture to ourselves in many ways, not least when it comes to drink. When I was getting a late night bus in Manly after a Saturday night on the hoy there was loads of security at the bus stops and on the buses to help prevent this sort of thing. It certainly made me feel a lot safer. 35081 I think it may be the next big business idea!? Security firms who take on the responsiblity of safety in specific areas. "Transport Bouncers" if you will. It would also free up the Police who surely could do without dealing with pissed wankers every weekend. Having said that, I would never have allowed the brewers and pubs themselves to have such little responsibility for the consequences of their products.
9. Starting with London 35071 In my experience, the bar culture and public transport in London is much safer than it seems in Newcastle. That's true of my home town in the south too though. Violence like that seems to be more common in smaller towns. There's a lot more gun crime in London than Newcastle, but it's very contained. Not that that makes it acceptable, but mostly it's gang-related.
10. If the government don't address this problem on public transport, I can't see any of us giving up our cars. I, like many people here have had abuse before from kids. What can you do? They have nothing to lose, I have a lot to lose and they know it.
11. And the other 1% is what? 34993 The foreskin's spam! 34997 HOW DARE YOU 35036 HOW VERY DARE YOU! 35040
12. Violence goes hand in hand with alcohol culture and a lack of respect for authority. As much as I believe in a socially fair society, I believe a period of zero-tolerance discipline is required. If David Davis becomes the next Tory leader (as I believe he will), he could do very well at the next general election on a "give us back our streets" campaign.

14. Read my comment for what it is, a comment on digital camera's quality of image. Man some people! As for your second comment, yeah foreskin your computer monitor will look great hanging on the wall so you can display it because your crappy point and shot will never give you the opportunity to print anything bigger than a postcard size image. As Mr T once said, I pity the fool! 34445 Yes, I always remember enlarging all the old photographs we used to take. Photo albums in my house were for losers. Huge great blow ups of our holidays would cover entire walls in our home. Wallpaper? Get away, here's a massive blown up photo of me on my first bike. Do you see? I never said I wanted to enlarge the images, nor do most people. In time, I'm sure that will be what they market 20 megapixel cameras as being able to do. For most people, it will be overkill. Like watching Coronation Street through your surround sound home cinema. Now, go back to your hi-tec world of blue tooth brushes and leave me alone.
15. Unlikely to be keen on the managerial graveyard that is SJP. Would be a huge job for him. 34173 I was at the match sitting on the side of the pitch he came over to (vs. Spain, Euro 96). Legend tbh. 34176 You're kidding!! I was in that part of the ground too, but a bit more towards the other goal. I thought we were outplayed......
16. Come on it's a fair enough gag ain't it squire!?
17. .....for the weekend. Up to St.Andrews with the folks. I hope they behave themselves.
18. The comment about digital being the new polaroid is nonsense. Digital photography is effectively free once you have bought the equipment and that is what appeals to most punters. The level of resolution is now at a level where normal size photos are as good as you'll need. I just bought this as it has enough "point and shoot" ease of use but with some features I can explore as I get better at photography. http://www.trustedreviews.com/article.aspx?art=1863
19. Bitch I ain't Gold... I'm Platinum *snaps out of momentary Snoop Dogg daydream*
20. To play alongside Owen? (BTW let's say we didn't buy Luque and used the spare £5m on a defender)
21. John Frusciante Brian May Jimi Hendrix Angus Young Jimmy Page Jeff Beck Dave Stewart Andy Summers
22. OMG ATTENTION SEEKER [/AF] 33680 Leave me out of it
23. Attention whores. My comments were perfectly acceptable.
24. That's showbiz. She's made a good living by playing the game. I say good luck to her.
