I made the point earlier that people have set ideas about what looks good. Adidas Gazelles, Fenders/Gibsons....you can think that it doesn't make a difference and I can think it does. After that we're going round in circles.
-
Of course you'll sell more shirts if it's associated with winning something. I don't see why that means you shouldn't spend more than 5 minutes designing the kit in the first place though.

Doesn't mean it's not worth trying to make them good....

I'm thinking big here too. Like how sometimes a product can cross over into the mass market and make a fortune. A simple iconic, cool as fuck, slightly retro, well designed home and away kit could bring in a new player every year.
-
I honestly believe that we should take more care with our strips. People from here WANT to buy a shirt but more often than not the reaction is a resounding "meh". I know that they will always sell a certain amount of shirts no matter what they look like among the soopafans but there are people like me over the seas with £50 to spunk on something toony that will never get spent. Can you imagine if we hired a designer to make our shirts the coolest looking shirts in football. I would love it if we got known for having kits that other fans would look at with envy. There are no circumstances whatsoever that would make me waste my money on that soulless nylon arse rag.

Not beating Wigan for the FA cup (with the squad he's got) is pretty lame to be fair.
-
it could be anyone's kit though... I would love to see the yellow away kit come back and find a company that could be arsed to put some effort into designing our strip.

Fuck me that is shit

I personally would rather take the risk that he will learn from his mistakes and build on his experience here than roll the dice again with an unknown quantity. I can see a "better" manager getting fucked off with the set up and leaving anyway.- 10610 replies

I can believe he was approached but the idea that he was tempted is laughable.

I read that the Villa fans applaud at 19 (his shirt number) minutes every game. That's a really lovely thing to do.

and be replaced with..... It's very easy to sack a manager and it's fairly easy to have a run of form after a new one has been appointed. I don't disagree with some of your opinions of Pardew but unless we have someone better lined up I'm not going to think it's going to be a magic wand. We need a striker or two and to sort out what the fuck is going on with Colo.- 10610 replies

If he keeps us up and keeps is job then you'd like to think this will make him a better manager. I think the euphoria of staying up (should we do so) would probably put me back in the stick with him camp but he'd need to hit the ground running with a proper strike force next season.- 10610 replies

I think we could beat the Arse at home. The crowd is (hopefully) going to be well up for it.
