Methinks the lady doth protest too much!

The opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference. ...and it's much more irritating to them too.

Good idea IMO. Better to fast track him with a run of games elsewhere than possibly only bring him on as sub a couple of times.
-
I can't disagree with a single word.
-
Redknapp's as dodgy as a three pound coin but I don't hate him and he's a decent manager. Good chance of being the next England boss too IMO.

gloryseeking bigots Not going to argue there.....

Celtic have a big fanbase.

Someone's got to keep posting the hate on SMB.....

Seriously I'd have to argue that is all yet to be seen. Three games does not make a season.

AKA "The Shepherd Method". *waits* But they're ambitious so that makes them good I'll always be grateful for the good years but fuck me they ballsed it up towards the end. Consistency, thats what was needed and what we have now. Consistent shite management. I don't think that's fair. I was as appalled as everyone else at how the first 2-3 years of Ashley's ownership went....but after relegation we came straight back up and have a decent squad with a bit of team spirit and a stable manager. We're not throwing borrowed money away on shit players and not giving stupid long term contracts to players who are well past their sell by dates. We'll obviously see what happens next but you can't really fault the business we've done this last transfer window.

Keep the grooming to pm Mr Gadd Shh! I think I may be in here!

I can't believe anyone can have gone through the last couple of years of recession and still think you can borrow money indefinitely.

Hello pedrito and welcome. I live in France myself, not too far from Marseille as it happens.

However it's come about he's doing an excellent job. If the fans can keep their cool if he has a blip I could see him really giving us some stability over the next few years. Very happy with him staying.

Why tie up a declining 30 year old to a big money long term deal if you can get him for nothing and put him in the position of playing for his future errr because as soon as he actually looks any good someone will take him off us? errr how long has he realistically got left? If he plays well and we make a move for him, and if he doesn't want to move here and would prefer the move elsewhere, then I'd be happy with that. It will be interesting to see your comments when players such as Enrique move on, because the club doesn't show them the ambiton to make them want to stay. Are you expecting a quick return to the european qualifications by the way, and will you boo if we ever finish 5th top of the premiership again ? A reply completely irrelivent to the topic? Not like you not spending any money for a club like us is totally relevant to the topic but I realise you are one of those fools that think you can put together a good team for nothing. Too many lemonades last night then ? Arguably better signings than Pistone, Luque, Boumsong.....you could even put Owen in there although I admit that's with the benefit of hindsight. You rightly state that we signed some good expensive players...but equally we signed some utter shite. Stands to reason you can get some cracking players for a bargain if you do your homework. No not everything Shepherd and Hall did was bad Leazes....but they didn't spend as carefully as they might have towards the end of their tenure. Ashley fucked up at the start but can you honestly say you'd rather still be throwing borrowed money around like it was going out of fashion?

Decent point although we'll have much tougher away games than Wolves.... Andy Carroll is the man. It's official. Pleased with Barton's composure. We need to focus after the Villa game and make sure we take our chances to build our points tally. Blackpool will want the points too.....it's no good easing up thinking we're safe after that 6-0.

To be fair, it's been a very decent transfer window. We haven't wasted a ton of money on unproven 'talent' and haven't tied ourselves to long term contracts with players past their sell by date. Fair play.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually think I'd prefer it if he stayed. He's never going to be good enough for a starting place but he's not THAT bad. It would sort of seem wrong to see him lumbering around in another team's strip.
