I'm glad Hughton wasn't afraid to play Tiote ahead of Smith.

The man's an enormous deluded twat. -
This. It was all a bit like the world conquering ideas you get when you've had 4 pints followed by the reality of the next day.

Two bald men arguing over a comb tbh. We did have a golden period recently but we blew it. We won nothing. Some would argue we were lucky to have it. The fact is that in terms of support and tradition we are a big club, as are Everton. It's a pointless argument. Neither of us are in the top tier of clubs today. Chelsea don't look like falling from grace any time soon, nor do Arsenal, although Wenger will be a very tough act to follow obviously. ManU and Liverpool have very real financial problems that could see them struggle. It remains to be seen how Woy does at the pool but whoever follows SAF will need balls of titanium. I guess Mourinho is the obvious candidate. Citeh have the money, Spuds have the CL profile and then there are the smaller clubs who are stable and hard to beat like Birmingham and even Blackburn who we have to overtake first. As for fans, ManU were the loudest I heard by a mile when I was living up there and going to games. Mind you they did thump us 2-6.

Youre right they do. I think it was always going to be difficult for him to have that austerity and assertiveness with some of the senior players as his initial relationship with the players was as a coach. Its like one of your work colleages has been promoted as your boss. Anyway, hopefully this defeat will give him more courage in dropping the senior players and making braver decisions. Did anyone find out why nolan was shouting at the bench today? Thats rght they do......ask Smith how many times he started in front of Guthrie last season after xmas.....no need to drop Nolan as he was scoring half the teams goals it would've been a bit of a bad move really For fucks sakes this is Newcastle United man...this is what they do, the same as most other football clubs...anyone remember Man Utd 0 Burnley 1 from this time last season?... He couldnt just bring 3 new players in today. After the events of last season and so far this season it would've been as disrespectful to the dropped players as a manager could've been. Its got fuck all to do with lacking guts, bottle or anything like that. Its called respect. And in the dressing room its vital he maintains it. If Smith, Williamson and Nolan had been benched today what would their and their teammates reaction have been?...would they have wanted to play for Hughton in the future if they felt that whatever they did they were always going to play second fiddle to the new lads?...look at what some of the Villa squad playes said about O'Neil after he left.....it certainly wasn't a happy ship, as we witnessed last month. Very few managers would've changed the side that drastically today. Away to Everton I wouldnt expect too many either....Tiote for Smith?....away from home we're going to play Nolan in front of Ben Arfa because he's a lot more defensive by nature. Don't know about Campbell, but he hasn't signed him to sit on the bench I wouldnt have thought so Williamson might give way, which is hard on him as he's been one of our best players so far this season, but this weeks result does make these decisions a lot easier. In the meantime stop fuckin whingeing. If anyone thought this season wasn't going to be full of ups and downs then they've not watched NUFC very much over the years.Wigan,Hull and Portsmouth have come out of the 2nd division and beaten us at home within a season or two, it does happen. Its mid Sepetember and we're mid table. Did anyone expect any different? That's quite enough of your logical posting thank you very much.

Capello to quit as England Manager after Euro 2012.
Asprilla replied to shackbleep's topic in Newcastle Forum
shame mclaren got it when he did, a few more years journeying around europe with some good teams like he has been doing will have him as a perfect candidate but theres no way he'll get the job again Completely agree. Like our players, we seem to have too few managers going abroad to get experience. Other than Hodgson and McClaren I can't think of any off the top of my head....although to be fair Robson only coached in Europe after he was England manager iirc. -

We just don't have enough good English managers. It's that simple. GO ABROAD AND WIN SOMETHING IF YOU CAN'T DO IT HERE, OTHERWISE, HUSH. -
Would probably be the only testimonial where the player gets booed on to the pitch.

Paul Gascoigne? Peter Beardsley? Pele? Idiot. -
Has Saha been mentioned? He scored a blinder for us when Gullit was here. Probably would have been worth keeping hold of with hindsight.

Tempting.

Same as PIN number. Sort of.

Oh dear oh dear.....

Good result but as has already been said, why can't we do it when it really counts? I think the only way to get a decent England side again is to play players based on attitude rather than reputation. I can't help thinking you'd get more from 20-24 year olds with something to prove than almost 30 year olds with more gagging orders than the Tory party.
