  1. We'll see....nobody's given them money for nothing or chicks for free. They're still going to be in a fuckload of debt, albeit to someone else.
  2. I can't work out who's the more spineless. The FA or De Jong. The idiots who say it's part and parcel of the game are harbouring homo erotic tendencies, I guarantee it.
  3. What the fucking fuck. We are jinxed.
  4. The Shepherds and Halls were no different to the millions of home owners who kept remortgaging during the boom years. While I appreciate the good times (and believe me I do) the fact is they ALL lined their pockets and none of the money they "made available" was their own. We win a few games, Ashley's steering us in the right direction, we lose a couple and he's the antichrist. Like the saner people here have already said, the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Cheers man. The Cathedral pic is all natural....the light in there is incredible so I can't really take credit for it! The only slight thing I did was use a white balance setting designed for normal light bulbs. As light bulbs give off quite an orangey light, the camera then compensates and gives pictures a blue-ish tint. I used a 35mm f1.8 lens. For those who don't know what that means, the 'f' number on a lens refers to the maximum aperture size. The smaller the number, the bigger the "hole". A large aperture lens can let in a lot of light so the shutter speed can be faster, allowing you to take non-blurry pictures in dark places without a flash. A flash wrecks the atmosphere unless you really know what you're doing. That's one of the reasons I decided to learn a bit more...I got sick of blurry shots or needing to use a flash.

Thanks man, I didn't see there was a whole forum for photos! I shall post all future pics in there. I appreciate the kind words. I took most of these before I'd done much reading up on the general rules/guides to composing a shot so there are probably a lot of things I could have done better. Although saying that, it's nice to not think too much because it's only a hobby for me. Nice pics but even better with a commentary of what they are, where etc. Fair enough, I'll edit the post with some info!
  7. It's a sickener but it's not like we haven't lost "easy" games at home before no matter who was manager.
  8. We'll see. As I've said before he makes far more from Sports Direct then he ever will from us, but we've got "profile". It's in his interests for us to do well.

  10. ive always had a soft spot for the studios though, I like the stripped down look of them you have an LP dont you? I've got a few guitars that cost several times what a Studio costs but it holds it's own no problem at all. The pickups they use are the same as on the LP Customs which are even more than Standards. (490/498). I bought mine from Bryan's shop in Newcastle and I felt like a kid bringing it home. It was my reward for giving up smoking....

What an epic thread. I never knew so many of you were into photography. Some incredible pics too. I've got well into it myself this year. I've always liked the idea of it but never really got my head around all the technical elements (aperture/shutter speed/ISO etc) until now. I'm just finding what it is I like most but I do have a soft spot for lomography/cross processing as well as b&w. I bought a Nikon FE off ebay this year and I'm having great fun, although processing here's a bit steep. I reckon I'm going to have a bash at developing at home this winter. +1 on Hipstamatic. MrsA has an iphone so we've had some fun with that. It's great for the few pounds it costs. I have a Nikon D40 which is my main camera. I had it for about 3 years until I got the hang of it. Lastly I just bought an original LOMO LC-A, again off ebay. The Lomography site has done a cracking marketing job but the new version is twice what I paid. I'm going to take a load of pics on my drive up through Europe and experiment with different film types etc. I'll upload a few random pics for now, including some of the first batch of cross processed ones. I tweaked some of them in Gimp because they weren't all that when I got them back. A dried out something or other in the town where I live in France....moody sky, used my Nikon FE film camera with Kodak slide film. You can get it developed as negative film which gives it the strange colours. Same camera/film/process...a street.... As above but in the local supermarket ...um....mackerel! Shot on my D40. If you get close it's easy to blur the background. D40. Mrs A walking out of the Cathedral near where we live (not religious but it's a cool building). It was last summer, early morning and the light was really nice. D40. Steps at a Matisse museum somewhere in northern France. Taken during a stopover on the way down to moving here. It's been tweaked in GIMP to give it a cross processed look. It's dead easy and I like the look of it. Older camera, a Pentax point and shoot called an Optio SVi. Somewhere near-ish to where we used to live in Northumberland (Glanton). Cross processed in GIMP. Optio SVi. Some weird Narnia type building in Glanton area. Given a washed out vintage look in GIMP. MrsA's iphone using the excellent Hipstamatic app. Myspace stylee self portrait. I am old enough to know better. D40. Fish in the local market. Couldn't get the white balance right. I was using an old Nikon manual lens which are cheap as chips off ebay. Have a slightly different look to modern lenses. (£20-£50) D40. Montpellier just a couple of weeks ago. Using the kit lens at its widest setting of 18mm. Almost a fisheye look. Used the in camera B&W setting. D40. An early morning scamper where I live about a month or two ago. The light was nice so I snapped this. D40. Neighbour's cat. Didn't do anything to this one, just got lucky with the focus and the cat was a natural! D40. No processing. Inside the Cathedral. Taken on the day a friend of mine on a music forum passed away suddenly. Never met him but he was a cool guy. Optio Svi with some GIMP processing. An early morning walk from a few years back when I was living in Glanton.
  12. Twat. I hate supporting this fucking club sometimes.
  13. A win would be HUUUUUUGE for us. I think we'll blow it though.
  14. In the last 4-5 years we've had more teams than any other in the Quarter/Semi finals of the CL.

    Stuxnet

I read about this the other day but I got part of the way into the article and then I stopped understanding it so I closed the tab.
  16. David had the charisma.....Ed looks like he might eat crayons.
  17. Worse than legging it up to level 7 at 2:58pm after 3 pints and a quick rollie?
  18. Cheers man. I've driven past the cathedral and it's somewhere I definitely want to visit.... also Cologne is higher on the list for me, it's just that I'm passing through Frankfurt anyway so I wondered if there was anything I should know about. I'm up for any good museums and anything related to photography (I know that photokina is on there now but will be over when I get there) or maybe some good bars where they have jazz/other chilled live music. Not so into the "neck some pills and talk shite all night" anymore.
