  1. That's rubbish. Enrique refused to enter contract negotiations long before Ferguson stepped in. He wants more than we can offer football wise and its as simple as that. I'm not talking about it from Enrique's side of things you utter mong. Read it again! My point is that Ashley has no interest in retaining Enrique who's undoubtedly going to be rightly asking for a wages increase when he feels he has a ready-made, cheaper alternative in Ferguson. They tried to open negotiations to offer him a better contract but Enrique refused. That makes it Enriques decision, not Ashleys fucking hell. What do you mean, you can believe everything the club says! Even if they have offered him a contract it'll be something shit and he's said he wants to wait till the end of the season to see what the fuckwitts are going to do to our side and no doubt they will confirm everything he thinks about them!
  2. That's rubbish. Enrique refused to enter contract negotiations long before Ferguson stepped in. He wants more than we can offer football wise and its as simple as that. its actually spot on, and nailed. It is a viewpoint Ashley has, and has been obvious for so long, its unbelievable there are still people that can't see it. Stand by for people saying that because we have Ferguson, we will be "fine". What the fuck is "fine" ? Thats not a slant against Ferguson who has a good left foot and has potential, but the clubs attitude and lack of ambition, which sadly, the younger element took for granted and are now getting an almightly shock. Sadly it'll either be Ferguson chucked in too early, especially as he's still a young winger learning to play LB or we'll get somebody like Perch in or even worse actually Perch to play LB if Enrique goes. I like the look of Ferguson to potentially cover the whole of the left side but thats what he should be next season, cover, not first choice for any position. And JamesD is right, us and the mackems should be aiming for 6th as more than achievable if you're well run and spend a bit of money, not even anything stupid, and if the owner really wanted to go for it then chuck a shtload of money in and have a crack at top 4, but that's fantasy stuff for us!
  3. He knows the people running the club are idiots and liars, so sadly he won't believe they'll back Pardew with any cash, so if he has any sense for his career, then yes he probably will be thinking of leaving, and since he's not a geordie brought up here, i don't blame him at all. However i don't think he will give any less playing this season whatever he's thinking. I wouldn't sell him for £10m i'd want more than that if we had to let him go, and we'll replace him with Ferguson because he's here and thus free!
  4. Total liability him Whenever he plays you're just waiting for something stupid or clumsy or for him to go wandering where he shouldn't, and he got lucky when he pushed Bent over in the box, it would have been a harsh pen obviously, but he gave the ref an option to think it was when there was no need.
  5. His passing was off i said that, but his defending wasn't, they got nothing past him and Downing got no change out of him, he didn't have a shitter. Fact!
  6. Probably his worst game in a long while, got dragged into arguing too often and it rattled him a bit. Think the commentator said theres an "amnesty" after this weekend with yellows so i think he's fine?
  7. His passing was poor, everything else was top notch and he was unbeatable in defence, so to say he had a shitter is bollocks and saying he played like he couldn't give a fuck was bollocks as well.
  8. To be honest he could have played Villa on his own for 90 mins and won the match and somebody would be waiting with "he doesnt give a fuck cause he's leaving" and saying he played badly, it always happens, regardless of what actually happened on the pitch! Ranger got into some good positions and was sadly found lacking in any semblance of composure or idea what to do so he wasted realyl good chances.
  9. Rather than sell him i'd have him out on loan for a full season in the championship, see at the end of that if he's worth keeping or not, because he needs to learn to use his brain, get some composure and confidence when shooting, coming on as a sub and getting a very occasional full match we'll never see if he's any good or not.
  10. Bollocks. He's been crap. Offered nowt. If you're good enough, you're old enough. Considering you think Enriques been up for it today you're clearly off the mark. If anyone has looked like they can't be fucked because they're leaving he has. Enrique was the best defender on the pitch, didnt let anyone past him and early on was linking well with Jonas in attack, only thing lacking was some of his distribution, if this is him playing like he can't give a fuck then i'm happy to have alot more of it. Because his passing will sharpen up after todays 90 mins under his belt, and the rest of his game was running nicely.
  11. Sounds about right. Drop the highest scoring midfielder in the League. He is THE best finisher in the Premier League I mean that as well. See Shola got 9 in the Sunday Sun. He was good in the first half made the first goal, and scored a good second. The second half though, he was a lazy twat, as ever, didn't chase, half hearted, and for me because he wasn't holding it up as well, and moving that was a key reason the pressure was coming on at us. Its why he drives you mad! The first half showed exactly what he could have been, a beast of a striker who bullied his marker, set one up and scored one and was a genuine handful and also solid technically, and the 2nd half showed why he isn't that, because he simply doesnt want it enough, he doesnt have that hunger and aggression and determination to be the best he can. Rob Lee was on this morning with Ginola and they mentioned Shola and he said he has never become the player he should, because they saw him come through the ranks and thought he was realyl going to make it as he was such a big lad and had the ability, but Lee said he just isn't ever going to reach where he should have. Also he is right that the one mitigating factor is he has had a shitload of injuries which have hampered his career, but mostly its his attitude. Ye naa what it is as well, from Robson through to Souness, Roeder, Hughton, Kinnear and Allardyce, the only one who ever questioned his attitude was Keegan, which speaks volumes. Keegan can see what the fans could see for years. Yeah, it was strange how many different managers kept with him because he was "great in training" and "still a youngster" etc. whereas Keegan came in, initially gave him the big talk up to boost his confidence as KK is the master of, then looked at what he did, saw enough and wanted rid!

  13. I said for 2 years that with Bent i've rarely ever seen one team rely so heavilly on one player for their goals and thus points and despite them initially thinking they were going to get away with not having him, its starting to hit home now. Their midfield has never scored enough, so when Gyan doesn't pull something out of the hat they're basically fucked at the moment, what a shame!
  14. Latest in sunday sun was he might be available for the last 3 games, but i wouldn't be surprised that if we don't need him to play he might not feature at all this season.
  15. If we either score early or just keep them quiet for the early part of the game, their fans will be on their back in no time and that will spread to under pressure players and we can take advantage. My worry is with Bent sniffing around the goal we'll gift them an easy start and lift the pressure on them. But like all toon fans this is a game i really want us to win, if we can help them on the way to relegation it would be perfect karma for the way this bunch of nonentities went on 2 years ago, difference being if they go down nobody will give a shit because its Villa.
  16. Without question. He has some ability/potential, call it what you will, but he has seemingly no composure or ability to think at the moment and needs a run of games over a season to see if that devlops. He had another chance yesterday where the keeper was way out of his goal and all he had to do was keep clam, look up and curl the ball over the keeper into the empty net, but he ended up on his arse having snatched at the shot and fell over, hitting it way too high. A season of playing regularly will show us what he is capable of and hopefully at the end of it we'll have a player good enough for the prem.
  17. I actually feel sorry for Perch as he is so far out of his depth its scary. I applaud his effort and committment, he stuck his head in where it hurts a couple of times, but ability wise its a disaster, at one point he was given the ball in space under no pressure and as it headed towards him i could see he literally had no idea what to do next and so he panicked and just kicked it nowhere. As for the game, first half we were much the better side, scored two and their keeper made a couple of good saves, then first part of second half we came out flying and could have had 3 goals in about 5 minutes. Then we went shite for about half an hour before finishing it in style. Wolves were exactly what i expected, they came here with the sadly predictable gameplan of kicking the shit out of us and Barton especially, but the ref ruined their day by booking two of them straight away for fouls, that left them with no plan B and we took care of them. Also good to see Ferguson get stuck in straight away with a couple of tackles and a foul as he knew they would target him, and they did with a couple of early long balls hit to left back. And as with most dirty teams, they also hit the deck themselves all the time and whinge at the ref non stop, Henry was a permanent shadow to the offiicals, the sooner they go down the better for the prem and if they could only take Stoke with them it'd be great!
  18. I'd love us to get him but QPR don't need to and won't sell him, especially as they know he could take the prem by storm and either help keep them up or at least end up making them seriously big money. They'd be mad to be selling him now for £5m or similar.
  19. Stoke is about the only away trip i went on where i saw any trouble, it was the league cup game many moons ago where we hammered them and Ginola destroyed them so a bitter Lou Macari started off the whole thing about him diving which lead to games like the arsenal one where Dixon basically was allowed to kick the shit out of him with no comeback from the ref. But i saw a couple of fights break out there and heard that it had been alot worse as i still avoided them, but their fans had been waiting for a big club to come there and were set on acting like pricks.
  20. Very true. You can't say "if only" about Pedro, he was a model professional in both looking after himself and working hard I understand. I get the impression Dyer and Woodgate are very thick which might have something to do with it. A lad i went to uni with, his dad taught Woodgate and said he was thick by footballer standards, which makes him borderline special! And agree with people about Shearer, he was certainly gifted, but allied to his mentality and strength of character he stepped it up even higher and there are many players who would have been finished at the top level with even 1 of his injuries never mind all of them.
  21. Indeed, you'll never know if he was somebody who could have lived a model life and still was just a crock and unlucky, but you'd think with all the trouble he was having he might have thought it worth a go to cut out all the drugs, drinking and whatever else he might have been into to see if he got injury free. Same goes for Woodgate and that was a genuinely massive waste as i think he was in the Maldini, Baresi class of player without question, should have been hailed as an alltime great.
  22. Think we went 1-0 down then came back to 2-1 second half, but its a long time ago so i may be slightly off!
  23. Home to Charlton, won 2-1 in the season we got promoted with Keegan as a player, not sure of the exact date, but it'd be 83/84 season
  24. I've no problem with QPR as a club or their fans, but would find it hilarous if they got docked points just to see Warnock go mental at it happening to him after the west ham/tevez one ages ago!
  25. Watched it last time round when it was on BBC4, great stuff and put it on again tonight!
