  1. I don't think any of our players who play in the World Cup, not just Owen, would miss the Intertoto Cup.
  2. I've put a tenna on at 5/2 for them to win the UEFA Cup just to soften the blow if they do win it.
  3. And N'Zogbia's got no arse.
  4. Spurs can fuck off. When Real Zaragoza finished 4th ahead of Real Madrid, who won the Champions League, Zaragoza missed out. It's tough shit.
  5. Where have I even suggested he was unlucky??? Just saying he got stick for blaming the ref during these games when he was right to in those incidences. I'm pleased we're shot of him, but we could do with those extra 3-5 points now.
  6. No, I'm saying when Souness blamed these decisions he got criticism for "making excuses".
  7. I think it would have been a good idea to postpone it until July/August and double it up as a pre-season friendly.
  8. Here's a question. Would people sooner see Bellamy at Liverpool and us keeping Owen, or Owen to Liverpool for £12m, Bellamy back to us for £6m? Tough choice tbh.
  9. Agreed MattM4. We were robbed a clear penalty at Everton which robbed us of a point, robbed of a clear penalty AND a goal at Wigan which denied us 1-3 points, the home defeat to Blackburn was a handball, there's another point dropped because of a referee. So there's 3-5 points gone because of referees. I know we'll get people saying "well we were sh*t those games so didn't deserve anything", but the fact is, referees cost us. But because it was when Souness was in charge he got criticised for making excuses.
  10. Either the two goals in Inter, the hat-trick against Leverkusen, or both Semi Finals at Old Trafford.
  11. Perhaps Ranieri will be his interpreter.
  12. Discuss your personal life in General Chat please.
  13. I've worked it out using www.football365.com's statistic section, and month-by-month league tables & results. There may be one or two mistakes though.
  14. ...and after the Sunderland game. 1. Manchester United.......11.........31pts 2. Liverpool......................13.........28pts 3. Chelsea........................11.........25pts 4. Newcastle United.........12.........25pts 5. Tottenham Hotspur......11.........20pts 6. Arsenal.........................10.........19pts
  15. I can see them becoming as big over here as what Jean-Marie Le Pen is over in France in 10-15 years time.
  16. What I want to know is, how the hell would Liverpool fans know what's on his contract??? Remember these were the same people who on the whole were dead cert Owen would sign for Liverpool and not us last August.
  17. Well I hope to hell if Boro do win the UEFA Cup and miss out on the FA Cup, they kick up a fuss a la Liverpool.
  18. If they became our sort of sugardaddy, then I wouldn't be against "St James' Mansion".
  19. If Wigan had won the Carling Cup, they'd have qualified for Europe, but unlike the FA Cup, the runners-up don't get into the UEFA Cup.
  20. Actually, I don't know why I posted this because it obviously wouldn't...can someone delete this?
  21. Would that make 8th spot an automatic UEFA Cup spot?
  22. Pretty strange move. It would be like Shay Given going back home to Ireland to play 3 games for Shelbourne on loan while their season is still on and ours is over.
  23. Just heard something to back up this claim. What I'm telling you is true, however I can't tell you for sure what he told me was true or not, although I have no reason to believe he'd lie. Anyway, last year when I was an Erasmus student in Spain, there were a group of lads from Rome who were also Erasmus students at the same Spanish University I went to. I remember when we used to talk football and spoke about Italians in the English games, and English players who played in Italy, he mentioned something about Ranieri and how that he comes from the same area of Rome as Ranieri's family. We were talking football again on MSN earlier today, and he told me that according to one of Ranieri's friends who lives in the same part of Rome as my mate, Ranieri has indeed been offered the Newcastle job and Ranieri is keen. Now I'm sure there's a number of managers who've also been approached and are keen also, so this doesn't necessarily mean it will be him. Also, the fact that I know he told me he was from the same region as Ranieri last year, he may have decided just to try and make up a nice little story, with him knowing I support Newcastle. As I've said, everything I've said is 100% true, although I can't guarantee what he told me is gospel, although there isn't really any cause for him not to tell the truth.
