We could do a helluva lot worse tbh.
-
To cut a long story short, a two-year loan deal, with a French International who would probably look good alongside Woodgate in the deal.
-
Or you could look at it positively and see that since August 2004, Real Madrid spent 14m on him, have paid a shitload on getting him match-fit and he's had top class experience in training alongside some world class players, and in August 2006, that 14m has been spent on bringing in Boumsong, and Woodgate back, so we've not really lost anything.
-
To be fair to Hugo, look at the quality of players he's competing with for a place in the Valencia side. Here, he'd be immediate back-up to Emre and taken in mind his injury record, he'd probably play more often than not.
-
Which makes you wonder why he doesn't take any for us. Would bring about an element of surprise if everyones expecting Shearer or Solano, and instead Faye curls one in.
-
I'm pleased. I work in a restaurant and the amount of f**king times I've taken an order and getten tab smoke blown in my face from a customer in the smoking area is ridiculous.
-
I actually think he's done a pretty sound job for us this season. Some of the stick he gets is ridiculously over the top. What more do you want from a 1 million quid left-back?
-
Looks like Mart Poom will be playing against us.
-
-
Thanks for that. I'm off to create www.rangnickforthetoon.com So you wouldn't recommend putting any money on him taking over?
-
Do you know much about this Rangnick, and would you think he'd be a good appointment for us? http://www.sportbild.de/nncs/fussball/2006...2410400003.html Just from the caption which I assume translates as something like, "Newcastle want Hitzfeld, Rangnick wants Newcastle"
-
He still does, and he'll prove it either here or Real Madrid, Barcelona, etc. at a much higher stage.
-
"tricks and flicks" don't win you football games, - passing, movement, pace and desire do though 93906[/snapback] Well I'm pretty pacy, can pass, run around a lot and give everything, but because I'm shit at doing the flicks and tricks part, I'll never be a quality attacker...
-
Looks like Everton will be able to loan a keeper in time for there game against us...which I think is sh*t. If they get a keeper suspended that's their own fault.
-
Cheers, just started a new game as Carlisle. New Toon boss? Paul Trollope.
-
RS - "And Keanu Reeves bent over like this and the bullets just went past him" MH - "Damn, that b*stard fly"
-
I think it's nailed on that if there's no appointment in the next 2-3 weeks, it will be Eriksson or Scolari in the summer after the World Cup.
-
So were the players not even allowed to phone home or anything during this competition? That's bad crack.
-
Chance to go further clear of that in our next two games (Villa away we lost & Charlton at home we drew last season).
-
I know, the cheek of us being able to watch a good game of football instead of throwing paper aeroplanes. Shocking.
-
I wonder if Pele's record would have been half as good had he played in Europe.
-
In the long run, depending on who we bring in, I think we'll do the following. Mid-table at best (Bruce, O'Leary...) Push for European qualification every season (Curbishley, Roeder...) Guarantee top 6 football every season and maybe push for 4th spot (Allardyce, O'Neill...) Annual top 4 challengers (Eriksson, Hitzfeld...)
-
I can remember a similar performance last season at home to WBA where we won 3-1...Souness' first home League game in charge. If he can get us into the top 6 playing a similar style as we did yesterday then maybe...but I'm not convinced after just the one match.
-
Let's not forget the 30 he scored for England, so it's 404 career goals.
