1. One of only a few British managers I think could do a job here has just became available.
2. Youre obsessed. Souness was never the answer on the field. However, he could spot an arsehole a mile away. He did and he got shot of them. Job done. Move on to proper manager now. If people arent bright enough to recognise the problems caused by Bellamy/Robert et al then that is their problem. Get an education. In the meantime...concentrate on real evil...racism. 48203 I miss the problems we had finishing 4th, 3rd & 5th.
3. bramble, babayaro, bowyer, moore and luque all still out 48156 I would have thought our first XI would be Given, Carr, Babayaro, Taylor, Boumsong, Solano, Luque, Emre, Parker, Shearer & Owen. We'll probably see tomorrow. Given, Carr, Elliott, Taylor, Boumsong, Solano, N'Zogbia, Emre, Parker, Shearer & Owen.
4. I admit those are very extreme circumstances, but it's not unrealistic that we pummel them and lose to a flukey goal. Look at Fulham at home last season. 20+shots to their 6, and we lost 4-1.
5. The thing with saying if we lose, Souness should be sacked, is what happens if Michael Owen misses 3 open-goals & misses a penalty, while Shay Given lets one creep through his legs to give them a 1-0 defeat? Would that be Souness' fault?
6. So really, only Luque & Babayaro are missing from what would be considered Souness' first XI. No excuses.
7. 5 years and a fine of £2000. Squeaky clean.
8. My dad's got a book where Malcolm MacDonald said he was a bit of a a**ehole. When he was an apprentice at Fulham, Haynes used to have a swagger that he was better than everybody else and the Fulham YTS' couldn't stand him. Also, he's one of the reasons Milburn never won as many England caps. There used to be a click involving him, BIlly Wright, Stan Matthews and a few others, and basically if you weren't in that group (and Milburn wasn't), you didn't play for England.
9. Roman Abramovich planting seeds at the Edinburgh tattoo chewing elastic bands and riding My Little Pony to Chester-le-Street to watch Ghengis Khan get off with his brother Oliver, while Timbucktoo, Jim was greedy and bucked three.
10. Elvis Presley riding to the city of Atlantis on Shergar before attacking the city of Troy in a spaceship and having an affair with Adolf Hitler behind Ghengis Khan's back, and starting World War III which is on it's way to being won my the martians before John Candy pushed a Jamaican bodsled in the way of the bomb which deflected it off course destroying a meteorite.
11. I'm sure one of the Mackems will be on their sewpa dewpa compewta any moment to tell us their views.
12. Thing is though, we're giving him stick because he deserves it. It's not as if we are going to let him off for being poor because he played well for a few games last year! 46804 No. He's been poor since the Man U game...and even then we've kept 3 clean-sheets. I can remember the opening game of the season at Highbury where he played Henry off the park. I can remember the following game against West Ham too where we were a shambles, and but for Boumsong holding us together at the back probably would have lost. He's had 6 games not at his best, and even in those 6, like I've said, we've kept 3 clean-sheets. To me, that suggests an £8m defender not at his best. A lesser defender off-form (O'Brien, Bramble, etc), and we'd not have kept those clean-sheets in my opinion. They have to be at their very best for us to even have a chance of a clean sheet. Boumsong's not been great, but still doing okay.
13. Boro have confirmed in the last 30 minutes that he's failed a drugs test.
14. No. On the fact that apart from one header in the first-half, nothing got past him.
15. Same with the Fulham game. Taylor's crap backpass soon got forgotten, while Boum got hammered for slipping.
16. Can't believe all the stick he's getting this season. He's had a bad spell since the Man U game, but people have quickly forgotten how well he played last season for us.
17. Well Ranieri was on Goals on Sunday this morning saying he wants a move back into English football, and is just waiting for the right offer. A bad result next week, and he might not have too much longer to wait...and then it's not as dreamy a prospect of seeing them here.
18. I'd have taken Cole back at the drop of a hat. A helluva lot better than Shearer these days. I'd even have had Phillips here too.
19. won 13 drew 17 lost 8 [premiership games] 46372 Cheers. That's a bigger gap than I thought.
