Cheers for the tips; if only you learned as much every day as you do the first day! 194670 The brutal truth is the more you learn the more you realise how little you know.

So I guess the psychology is you want them to fold, but if they don't you still have a decent chance over 5 cards? Because if you're willing to bet all your chips, you can always see the 5 cards, right? 194653 yes I did mean 1/3, and yes you sre right. The AK bloke was shortest stack at the table and desperately needed chips, he should have been pleased to get the call as most of the time he would have doubled up. He should have been happy he played correctly and not about the results. To win long term you have to learn to be pleased when you get your money in ahead no matter what happens in the hand. Emotional control is what seperates the winners from losers more than anything else

Some good info there, can you explain the bit in bold to me please? What about his reaction to the winner? Sour grapes? 194635 AK will hit about 2/3 of the time on the flop, about 50% of the time with all five cards. When you are that short stacked you cant afford to fold if you miss with the first three cards so you are better of getting all the money in preflop. Add to that the 10% of the time the other player actually folds to your raise and allin preflop is the best way to play
-
Completely standard hand. AK bloke has less than ten BB so is in push or fold mode. AK is always best all in so you can see all five cards. Original raiser only had to call 15000 to win 52858, he should never fold.

Most people havent got the first clue about policy, the electorate is criminally misinformed and ignorant. To say they vote on policy is hopelessly naive. 193641 OK, they vote on what they believe is policy. How else can you account for someone voting Labour at one election and Conservative the next? I'd suggest most people in this country are actually Liberal but don't see the party as electable, and with very good reason with the clown at the helm... 193649 People are idiots.

Harrington on Holdem vol3 came out recently aswell, again it is a very good read. The thing about poker books is even rubbish ones ar worth reading as long as you are thinking about the concepts and when to apply them, and realise that quite often there are is more than one correct way to play

Yeah it happens 2 me, if you want 2 quote someone you have to click reply under the person's name next 2 quote 193345 You seem to have a strange annoying problem with the word "to" aswell

Good grief I never knew this bloke was so popular, I always steered well clear of his programmes. Toontastics own version of Diana tbh

That Becker bloke looked a right spare part, lamely applauding while Agassi went for the weep , weep and weep again option

Alex = impeccable taste. Paperclip People - Throw. Legendary Carl Craig track. I think you would be right on the inspiration too. 182669 So my Undertones reference is ignored and Alex gets all the plaudits. gah

Not what David Byrne would say about that album. Stop Making sense is the definitive live album and is also the definitive live concert video. 182581 Are you claiming that is the defintive live album or the defintive live album by the Talking Heads. If its the latter fair enough but the former would be a bit of a stretch
-
Me dad uses that. Very old skool. 182473 Its a Bobby Thompson... Na yer reet I'll have a cake
-
You should have a listen to "stop making sense" - its the most accessible. I just dont get the meringue reference like. 182454 Would you like a cream cake or a meringue? I was no great fan of the Talking Heads but I did lke More Songs about Chocolate and Girls by the Undertones

25% nice bullshit statistc. There are some idiots who drive bikes, there a lot fucking more who drive cars lets ban all of them aswell. 181791 You think the risk of death, or causing death, in a car is the same as on a bike? Would the figure of a 25% lifetime risk really surprise you? Considering I have known 3 people independently killed on bikes and none in a car it wouldn't surprise me. Btw, I should add that wasn't being entirely serious about banning all motorbikes but it'd be nice to ban some of the idiots you see on country roads. 181798 I think the risk of causing death in a car is shitload higher than with a bike. The figure of 25% is plainly ridiculous, you might just know a load of idiots.

I saw Chubby Brown live and I have to confess it was cripplingly funny. I am a bit of pc left wing liberal type, but the overwhelming tide of filth just became hilarious after about twenty minutes of tut tutting on my behalf. "They say you are what you eat. I must be a big fat cunt then" -
