Christ, I really can't believe we're having this debate. Some people go on as if he's making a blatant and concise effort to avoid playing for us. Owen has and will score goals where ever he goes. Yes, he's had injury problems but the majority of them have been freak incidents that very rarely happen. I do feel slightly aggrieved that he is going to play for England so soon after his comeback from injury but the Doctors know better than Stevie and acrossthepond. The fact is that if we don't have Owen we'll end up having someone who probably costs just as much but is only half the player. He's world class and only the most blinkered fan wouldn't be able to see that. EDIT - I also love the idea of Stevie getting some stealthy backslaps off other members Frankly, i'm more inclined to believe that Baines is on his way up the A1 to sign for us than Stevie's inbox brimming with kudos.
