Two of me mates fell down those very stairs and given the size of one of them, they were lucky to still be up

Actually it was bad enough when they sang that against Brugge who came in fair numbers and were pretty vocal but to do it last night when they probably had as many fans here as we had there is pitiful!
-
I think I did try and get an our support is fucking shit chant started after that but no one seemed keen to join in!
-
You're spot on there like. And I was as bad as anyone. My apathy knew no bounds!

I left just before the end last night so missed the decision on whether to boo or not. I don't suppose I would have given the fact we'd just qualified with a game to spare. But I can understand those who did. Missing players or not the quality of football last night night (and all season so far) was dreadful. I heard some people on on the way out complaining about those who booed, saying how can people boo this in Europa cup when we were where we were four years ago. I would counter that by saying, four years ago we played better football than we are now!

The stunning shite of that piece actually took my breath away! -
I think Debuchy (from what I've seen of him) would massively improve our attacking play. With someone like him bombing down the wing and Ben Arfa more free to come inside we would put a lot of pressure on the opposition. Debuchy also looks to have pretty good delivery into the box which is something we lack from both sides of the pitch.

Never seen that before. I knew there was a reason I thought he was a cunt!

I think Rednapp's a perfect fit for QPR in the same way as he was for Portsmouth. He's always been a wheeler dealer and the way QPR are accumulating free transfers and players with questionable attitudes I think he'd be the best man to handle them.
-
Clearly QPR are panicking that Rednapp would go to Ukraine (never a chance of that I reckon like).

I'm not arguing against the benefit of stability, I think it would have benefited them massively to stick with Ancelotti. But as you've just pointed out, they won the champions league because of the players (players who cost them a fortune). Players of that standard will always take you a long way (to a level we can sadly only dream of these days). Keeping faith with a quality manager when you have a sticky patch will push you on even further imo but no matter how good a manager is or how long you give him, if there's no money to buy these top players then you'll win fuck all. It's clearly a combination of the two that achieves real long term success but I would say that cash is far more important especially in the first place!

I do think it's a fair question to wonder why we can't play football (or at least attempt) to at least the standard of the like of Fulham or West Brom (hell even West Ham have looked more attractive than us this season). We have better players than these teams have so we should be capable! I fully agree with the point that we've missed so many of our key players and that will obviously hamper our performances (you'd have to be an idiot to ignore this) but we seem to have given up even try to play any football at the moment. You have to ask why that is.

Spot on. Them hiring and firing managers won't really make a massive difference to their chances as long as they have the money to keep backing their choice of new manager. When you're spending the kinds of money they are, you don't need to be a genius to spot who are the top players. Pretty much every club in Europe would have signed Hazard if they could have afforded it and it's never a surprise a when a player who has just cost thirty odd million is a success. It would not surprise me in the least if RA one day decided to just manage the team himself and led them to at least one trophy. The players he would have at his disposal would do it for him. And these players don't sign for a club like Chelski because they buy into the managers philosophy or they've worked with him before and respect him. They sign because they will get paid shit loads and will undoubtedly be successful in at least one competition over two years at worst!
-
They looked a lot weaker than us and when we got the goals they collapsed. We didn't need to play well to beat them and I don't think we did. I didn't come away from the game thinking it was poor or anything like that but I didn't think it was anything inspiring!
-
Fuck me, stats really can be brought up to show anything!
-
I never said he was anything other (although he did have certain qualities which made him look quite good at times when playing alongside a more intelligent footballer). I'm just saying that Williamson is dog shit!
-
I don't even think we were that good against Bordeaux. We had a few good patches and looked comfortable but it was hardly inspiring stuff. I think we're just clutching at straws as we are so far off the pace this season there's been nothing else! I agree we should give the wafa cup a real go. I think a good cup run could provide much more of a boost to our season than the extra games would harm it at this stage.
-
Our movement is shambolic this season like and I believe you have to question what's going on in training. You would think we would be working on attacking as a team and passing and moving. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be the case at all. In fact you have to wonder what we do work on as we seem to have gone from looking like the fittest team in the league last season to looking like we are incapable of living with the opposition and our defense was a mess as well on Saturday. Slightly off topic, I saw Dabizas in the town on Saturday night and he still looked like he would be physically capable of playing now which I think would be totally preferable to ever seeing Williamson play again!

Whythankyou.

No he didn't

I would say we won those games in spite of Obertan rather than due to his input. With regards to Marveaux, what you say about needing someone to play there if Jonas is out is fine but surely, Ferguson or Sammy have shown more than Marveaux so far? And the comparison to Ben Arfa is a nonsense tbf. Ben Arfa showed moments of real quality but looked like he was struggling to adapt to the team. Marveaux has shown nothing at all so far.
-
Youd be happy starting Obertan? He's possibly the worst player we've had in the last ten years! And Marveaux has shown no signs he should be starting either.
-
I do think people are being harsh on him at the moment. He's trying to adapt to a very different league in a team that really isn't playing well. It's not going to be easy for him to come in and be at his best straight away in these conditions. A lot of players take a good while to adjust (just look at Colo and Ben Arfa) and in the past as a club I don't think we've always handled players who haven't immediately adapted very well. We need to be patient and give the lad a chance to really get into his stride.
