  1. Hardly heard him mentioned in commentary but that's hardly surprising given the quality of the commentary. It'll be interesting to hear how he played from someone there.
  2. These two comentating are fucking shit. Ben Arfa sounded like he was showing touches of class as has Marveaux. Can't remember hardly hearing Gosling, Guthrie or Abeid's names being mentioned at all. But that's not much of a surprise given the piss poor comentary.
  3. I thought it was a pass at the time like but I'm still in the Ba might yet be in a goo player camp as oppose to being (obviously) in the Best is shite camp
  4. That will be very interesting to see, especially as they are all fairly attacking players. Just a shame they're talking about Guthrie playing as well.
  5. Thought it was more poor defending than anything particularly good on his part. Maybe I'm being harsh on his finishing like. I just rewatched that compilation and the three goals against West Ham (particularly the last one) were all well taken.
  6. Couldn't really argue with that. If nothing else he wants to be here and do well.
  7. Is he a Forest fan? I know he's from there, so he probably is but he was at Notts Co. as a bairn I think. Yup, he was a magpie from the very beginning. Never played for Forest. I like his attitude. But I will continue to mock him, that's obviously doing the trick. Was an article which said he was a forest fan. Really? Didn't know that. Anyone know how fierce the Notts Co-Forest rivalry is? He said in the chronicle yesterday that he was a County fan like. Although he did say he used to go watch Forrest too and was a fan of Collymore.
  8. scoring the bread and butter chances is actually a talent, most goals are scored close in to goal. Its far better than someone who misses the easy chances and scores the spectacular pot shot. But I take your point, he's hardly the best forward going, but as a striker close to goal, he's doing very well and seems to have an appetite for it. I totally agree with the bit in bold but I wouldn't say he's good at putting those chances away. His first goal against Fulham and his one on Saturday are prime examples of this. Neither of them could be missed (and I'm talking about after it rebounded off given btw) but he still struggled to get them in. If he keeps getting them (however unimpressive his strikes are) it will be great but personally I don't have any confidence in the quality of his finishing.
  9. He is currently our best striker and most likely to score so fair play to him for that. But tbh all that does is make me cringe. Whether I'm at the match or in a bar watching it on the telly all I hear from everyone nearby is how piss poor best is. The fact that he then scores a goal (most likely on the follow up after piss poor first attempt) doesn't change how bad the rest of his game is. We didn't win on Saturday primarily because of our lack of quality up front and Best is a major part of that. I'm happy that he's scoring at the minute but personally I think he's getting a large slice of luck which I really don't see continuing and very shortly those of you who are coming around to him will be back to realising how bad he really is. I'll be happy to eat my words if he proves me wrong though.
  10. Is Vukic not still out with his hand injury?
  11. Well we don't have any other centrebacks so I can't see a change there. He could possibly bring Fergusson in at leftback but I can't see any other changes to our defence. Maybe Harper in goal. I'd like to see more of Marveaux and Gosling needs games. I fear we'll see the return of Guthrie too. No doubt Strola and Lovenkrands will be back too. Is Ferguson fit again? I thought he had been for a few weeks but I might be mistaken like.
  12. Snce his appalling performance against Scunthorpe, I think Ba has looked much improved against Fulham and Villa. Whereas Strola continues to get worse (not sure how this is still possible given some of the dross he's served over the years). I'm still not exactly sure of Ba's game though so how good he'll be for Barfa to play off I don't know.
  13. Well we don't have any other centrebacks so I can't see a change there. He could possibly bring Fergusson in at leftback but I can't see any other changes to our defence. Maybe Harper in goal. 14. Comfortably the best we've played all season mainlin(I think) due to Caybaye and Tiote although I thought Simpson, Squidward and Ba were a lot better than they have been. What game was that cunt Le Tissier watching? We were camped in their half for nearly the whole game! Admittedly they possibly had better chances but Krul didn't need to make many saves and their goal had a reasonable slice if fortune with the way it landed to Agbonglahor. Reasons to be cheerful for the first time this season down to our performance.
  15. I think it's definitely time we ditched the 4-4-2 tomorrow. Our strikers aren't good enough and it doesn't seem to suit a central midfield pairing of Tiote and Caybaye. Possibly bring in Marveaux on the left and put Jonas behind the striker (I'd like to see Ba given a go but definitely not strola). Although perhaps Gosling might be the one to play that position. Raylor has to be dropped but I doubt Pardew has the bottle to go with Fergusson or Jonas at fullback.
  16. They outplayed us for the first half hour maybe then we got back on track and in the second half we were the better (at very least from after the goal) so I don't agree there. Back to the point. I don't rate Richardson but I would comfortably take him ahead of Raylor altough you would hope Santon would negate the need for that. If we're ignoring Bentner then I'd still take Sessegnon ahead of either of our strikers (and Wickham too). Again I'm not a fan of Larson but from what we've seen of Squidward so far I'd take Larson. And I'd take Brown ahead of Simpson. Overall I do agree with the point of the opening post. That horrible cunt is spending millions on not improving them in the slightest. Over the past few years the've sold Jones, Bent, Gyan (ok he's just on loan at the minute but it seems inevitable he's off) and Henderson and for all the money they've brought in and spent on they've got lesser players now. We're just doing the same but on a budget!
  17. Can't see why people think Barfa will make the difference. He can't pick up the ball from defense and be effective at unlocking doors on the edge of the opposition box. Cabaye suffered as Barfa will last night. Simpson. Taylor and Taylor will continue to whack it right over his head....and by extension Coloccini who doesn't have a fellow defender that's comfortable playing on the floor with him. Our best hope is Santos. Like Enrique, he and Coloccini will have to work up a partnership that allows us to play it out of defence rather than relying on the long ball that invites more pressure. He's never going do owt for us I agree with the sentiment that Santon will hopfully change things in that he gives Colo someone to pass to and can link up with Jonas on the left. That will help Caybaye and hopefully in turn Ben Arfa. Obviously not the first, but Keegan was always banging on about attack starting with defence. Despite his reputation for having teams that couldn't defend, his priority was that they could get the ball out of defence while retaining posession. It's no mistake he brought in Coloccini and Bassong in his one transfer window. While also getting rid of Carr, Ramage, Rozenhal and Faye. Dispirriting watching us hoof ball after ball back at QPR, even when we weren't under pressure. Yeah, we've done it all season unfortunately which is why I'm pinning my hopes on Santon. Him being right footed is still a bit of a concern for me like. Hopefully it won't be too much of a problem.
  18. We were? werent we? I seem to recall Pardew promising us a more " free-flowing" pas-and-move team? Part of the reason why we got rid of Nolan etc. The quality of football for the last 2 seasons had been better than anything in the 4 years prior. If he did say that he's a mong cos it's blatantly reverted in these early stages. I'm not sure carpet football was the term he used but I'm sure he did talk about controlling the midfield more and playing more football as well as having a lot more pace. And you're right he clearly is a mong!

  20. Couldn't agree more with most of that. The only thing is I think Caybaye looks like a canny footballer even if there has been times when he's seemed to be overan in games so far.
  21. Not sure what game you were watching, only one of our fullbacks was gash tonight. I was watching the one where Simpson was still piss poor going forward and should have cost us a goal if SWP could finish. Admittedly he was far better than Raylor but that's still a level of performance that I can't come close to praising. Mind you he had squidward looking fucking terrible in front of him, Tiote unable to find his man and Caybaye, well was he actually playing? In all fairness he probably wasn't one of our biggest problems tonight and I was focussing on him because he's been shite all season but he certainly wasn't good.
  22. Tbh he doesn't really look any better than Routledge so far. But the lads never had a run of games since he came to England so he needs more of a chance than what he's had so far before we can write him off.
  23. How the fuck did we manage to get a point out of that? Admittedly they played well but we were garbage. Our two strikers and fullbacks are gash. Ba and Santon surely must be in for the Villa game and probably Marveaux too. Our luck isn't going to hold out much longer, we need to improve massively.
  24. I don't fancy us at all tbh. After playing shite for the first four games I think we're quite lucky to have had the results we've had.
