1. Ok, so why wait until next season then... 63121 Because I think it'll be more settled to do it in the summer - less impact on the team. Where Souness has gone wrong in my eyes is the way he depleted the size of the squad. We have no depth and consequently we've had injuries and no replacements in certain positions. What fucking angers me is we've had no explanation as to why so many were sold and not replaced. Was it all Souness or was he told to reduce the payroll from above? 63125 Reducing the payroll and then signing Emre, Parker, Luque and Owen instead of O'Brien, Hughes, Bellamy and Bernard? Eh? What are you on about? If Shearer (and I dread to think abouth this) is to be given the job then I think it's better now, because he is either doing good or at least can't do worse, so that we can say to him in the summer. Well, Alan thanks that you helped us in a difficult situation, but we rather have you gain some more coaching experience before you are ready for the job.
2. Ah now, DotBum, you can't be saying things like that! More Dunphyisms (from last Thursdays Fiver): Selected highlights of a row that broke out between Roy Keane's ghost writer Eamon Dunphy and fellow RTE pundits Liam Brady and John Giles during last night's coverage of Liverpool v Real Betis. ED: "Niall Quinn is a creep ... a joke ... The man is an idiot." ED: "Arjen Robben is a bird-brain." ED: "All [Cristiano] Ronaldo can do is fanny about." LB: "It was wrong of Keane to come out and criticise his fellow pros just so he could get a new contract", to which an apoplectic Dunphy retorted: "Get your facts straight. Henry's doing it, they all do it; last year Vieira fannied, flipped and flopped ... funny you forgot about that, Liam, with you working at Arsenal." ED (to presenter Bill O'Herlihy): "Who are you to call Roy Keane a thug?" BOH: "I didn't. It was in the Sunday Times." ED: "l tell you who said it, it was Rod Liddle. Let me tell you something about him, Bill. He left his wife and kid and ran off with some young one. That's the kind of guy he is." And, finally, ED: "I'll tell you what Roy Keane is: he's a gentleman. He is right about everything."

4. Well, I don't disagree. This is the ideal situation. Though Chelsea were in better situation then, weren't they? Even Ranieri (who I don't rate very highly) got them in the Championsleague. So they were under much less pressure. As long as managers like Le Guen are on the market, I think there can be found good and long term possibilites now. If not I am even prepared to give it to Shearer until the end of the season, or to Glen Roeder, or to the next person replying to this thread... 63100 Unfortunate 63106 Could have been worse, could have been you. Hitzfeld won't come now, he'll stick to his word. Who he is going to take over next season remains to be seen. But that isn't the question to me. For me it's to save this season, and I think that is possible with a new manager. The words from Dougie Hall about the certainity of Newcastle getting relegated under SBR are still ringing in my ears...
5. I do rate Lampard very much, but what has he done more than Ronaldinho? Both were instrumental in winning the respective championships with their clubs. Both players were involved in a pretty even tie in the CL. Both were important for their national teams, Ronaldinho won the Confederations Cup (which was surprisingly good this year). 63059 I'm not sure that Ronaldinho is as important to Barca as Lampard is to Chelsea. You say he was instrumental; I just don't think he was. 63067 Well, I admit that I only saw about 5-6 Barca games from La Liga this season, but still think he is the fix point of the team without whom they were only half the side they have been over the last 12 months.

7. Cos that will save the season won't it? Replace him in the summer, yes - sack him now? No way! 63060 Oh please do wake up and smell the coffee. There is a very real chance we could be playing in the Championship with we allow this wanker to stay incharge. 63071 There is a very real chance we could be playing in the Championship if we sack him now as well! 63080 Sorry, but I think that is a bit absurd. Maybe you are mixing up cause and effect? Souness isn't the one saving us from relegation, but the one taking us down into a position where with a very good squad this prospect looks a possibility.
8. Cos that will save the season won't it? Replace him in the summer, yes - sack him now? No way! 63060 Sorry, but the season is already faltering now. We are just out of a mickey mouse competition were the likes of Arsenal field players I've never heard of before. Newcastle is losing against the second string of a freshly promoted team. I could understand that people were saying that last season had to be written off after Souness took over and with all the malarky that was involved. But can Newcastle accept two seasons getting written off in succession? There is still the chance to get a half decent position in the league, but I don't think it will be achieved with this tosser in charge. The FA Cup is taken more seriously by the big teams, and I don't see us having a chance with the tosser in charge. We can't do worse in appointing the next manager, so I think it should be done immidiately.

10. Does this cunning plan involve a turnip or Amdy Faye, because if it is latter then we are truely f***ed... well, we can still send on Amdy Faye with a turnip up his arse, so that the Wigan players fall over laughing...
11. Well, looking at the match stats (and listen to it on Newcastle World) I am glad that I decided against a 2hrs train ride to watch it in a pub... Goal Attempts 11 : - Goal Attempts On Target 8 : - On Target Crosses 13 : 6 Crosses Corners 11 : - Corners Offside 1 : 3 Offside Fouls 4 : 4 Fouls Free kicks 8 : 5 Free kicks Yellow cards - : - Yellow cards Red cards - : - Red cards % Possession 65 : 35 Possession %
12. Eh? Lampard is runner up in these awards this years. So his contribution hardly goes unnoticed. Ronaldinho is a footballing artist. And he isn't only entertaining but also contributing a lot to the success of his teams.

Emre

I think he will get a hefty international ban, most likely also involving European Cup games. So Newcastle don't have to worry. Neither will the club play in Europe next season anyway, nor do we have to worry about him getting injured while playing for Turkey... But I don't think this proceedings will do his confidence any good. I also do never want to see Emre showing this side of his character (I call it the Inter-side) when playing for Newcastle United!
14. Someone has to do it (and before Toonraider is doing it)... FROM; Pat Lewis, Human Resources Director TO Everyone RE Christmas Party DATE December 1 I'm happy to inform you that the company Christmas Party will take place on December 23, starting at noon in the banquet room at Luigi's Open Pit Barbecue. No-host bar, but plenty of eggnog! We'll have a small band playing traditional carols...feel free to sing along. And don't be surprised if our CEO shows up dressed as Santa Claus! _____________________________________________________________________ FROM; Pat Lewis, Human Resources Director DATE December 2 RE Christmas Party In no way was yesterday's memo intended to exclude our Jewish employees. We recognize that Chanukah is an important holiday which often coincides with Christmas, though unfortunately not this year. However, from now on, we're calling it our "Holiday Party". ___________________________________________________________________ FROM; Pat Lewis, Human Resources Director DATE December 7 RE Holiday Party What a diverse company we are! I had no idea that December 20 begins the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, which forbids eating, drinking and sex during daylight hours. There goes the party! Seriously, we can appreciate how a luncheon this time of year does not accommodate our Muslim employees' beliefs. Perhaps Luigi's can hold off on serving your meal until the end of the party...the days are so short this time of year...or else package everything for take-home in little foil swans. ___________________________________________________________________ FROM; Pat Lewis, Human Resources Director DATE December 8 RE Holiday Party So December 22 marks the Winter Solstice... Fire regulations at Luigi's prohibit the burning of sage by our earth-based, Goddess-worshipping employees, but we'll try to accommodate your shamanic drumming circle during the band's breaks. ____________________________________________________________________ FROM; Pat Lewis, Human Resources Director Date December 9 RE Holiday Party People, people, nothing sinister was intended by having our CEO dress up like Santa Claus! Even if the anagram of "Santa" does happen to be "Satan", there is no evil connotation to our own "little man in a red suit". It's a tradition, folks, like sugar shock at Halloween or family feuds over the Thanksgiving turkey or broken hearts on Valentine's Day. Could we lighten up? ____________________________________________________________________ FROM; Pat Lewis, Human Resources Director DATE December 10 RE Holiday Party Vegetarians!?!?!? I've had it with you people!!! We're going to keep this party at Luigi's Open Pit Barbecue whether you like it or not, so you can sit quietly at the table farthest from the "grill of death", as you so quaintly put it, and you'll get your #$%^&*! salad bar, including hydroponic tomatoes...but you know, tomatoes have feelings, too. Tomatoes scream when you slice them...I've heard them scream, I'm hearing them scream right now...! ____________________________________________________________________ FROM Teri Bishops, Acting Human Resources Director DATE December 14 RE Pat Lewis and Holiday Party I'm sure I speak for all of us in wishing Pat Lewis a speedy recovery from her stress-related illness and I'll continue to forward your cards to her at the sanatarium. In the meantime, management has decided to cancel the Holiday party and give everyone the afternoon of the 23rd off with full pay. Happy Chanue-Kwanzaa-Solsti-Rama-Mas! And yes Lou:
15. Noooooooooooooooooo! *makes slow-motion stunt dive for snakehips' leg* 62922 Someone promote him to mod, quick!!! 62934 That sort of carry-on happens on another forum, not this one! 62944 I was talking to HTT.
16. Exactly, being a horrible little cunt is part of his game, winding up the opposition, putting them off their game. Having the confidence and arrogance to run at defenders. How many times did people say before "he's an arsehole, but I'm glad he's our arsehole"? Craig, you've completley missed my point tbh. 62929 Have I missed it or have I said something which follows your theory, but misses your opinion? 62939 Well, I was struggling to see how your examples match Luke's, too. One takes examples where success is by far outweighing the negative aspects. The other takes examples where the negative aspects are by far outweighing the "success".
17. Discuss. 62931 erm, Niall and Biffa are voicing their opinion again - what's up with it? I know that they are voicing their opinion. But thanks for explaining it to me. As I said before, my criticism of their site - or their decline as I see it - has nothing to do with me agreeing or not agreeing with them. It's just that a restfor an injury prone player who is essential for Newcastle probably would have been not too bad. So it's frustrating to see a player fully fit for one side, but missing games for the other. But maybe it's just the better pitches the English team can use...

19. From nufc.com's match report: Discuss.
20. I blame Souness. Maybe it was him and Saunders in the Fiesta... 62884 Wasn't it a Fiesta used in the road-rage incident Peasepud had? 62889 The plot thickens...
21. I blame Souness. Maybe it was him and Saunders in the Fiesta...
22. Well, Gemmill is our expert in gay locations now, he can probably tell us . Class thread by the way that was getting Li3nz posting again...
23. No, you are just weird ... in a ... err .... positive way ... err ... YAY.
24. If you didn't do it so often, maybe he wouldn't look atcha like that. Maybe if you said Lou from Newcastle, to narrow it slightly, he'd be less confused. He'd probably still look atcha like that, but he'd be less confused. 62549 No, it that case he would look terrified...
25. "Ah now, Eamonn, you can't be saying things like that!"
