That’s what I think, too. Said it during the first half. First team players seem to be focused on the final and don’t want to miss it. I think it’s comparable to the approach from players you can see in pre season friendlies or especially in international friendlies ahead of major competitions. It does show that our lack in depth because we don’t really have competition for places.

Mentally, we look totally off the paces. They were all totally shite today. Misplaced passes all over the place, poor touched, lapses in concentration. We did even lose the battle of shithousery. We have to raise our game a lot, not just for the final but for the league games as well. With other results going our way we could have seriously cemented our place in the top four if only for poor performances.

That’s nonsense. You can hit good crosses that put your team mate into a good position and/or the opposition under pressure or you can hit bad ones that are just easy to defend. Maxi’s have just been poor. it’s just like not every shot on target is a good one but only those that actually are difficult to save.
