  1. I only support newcastle but i like other clubs, does that make me any less of a newcastle fan? As far as saying i support the top team in each country, thats just the way it happened, at 1st it more of the fact i liked the shirt, had an Ajax and Barca shirt aswell as both newcastle shirts when i was about 7 or 8, since then iv liked barca and ajax. As for Juve, i loved watchin del piero and medieta in there halcyon days...plus they are black and white! Sporting is a pretty new one, like celtic i like the green and white hoops, but i actuallly like the way sporting play, moutinho and veloso are real prospects, and to say ronaldo and quaremsa were blooded at sporting makes them a hotbed for up and coming stars. Lyon iv always liked, even when PSG were the daddy of the french league i liked OL and only the last few years have they really come into there own with the likes of toulalan, benzema and be arfa. Bayern initially was because i liked the shirt, and now i quite like a few of there players and there style of play. Likei said im a football fan not just a newcastle fan.
  2. 15 fuckin years ago! I was 7! remember it clear a day!
  3. Agree with that bit, the toon is the only team i love there for the only team that hurts me
  4. Yes you can read! haha each to there own fella... why dont you post yours instead of mocking? Sorry, mate. Why do you like Bayern though? Personally, I find it hard to really like any teams beside Newcastle, but I guess Blackburn is a team I don't dislike that much Also, Ipswich Town would be my "favourite" team in the lower leagues, because of the Toon connections (SBR etc) I guess, and Greene King is a fine brewery! And of course then there's J-Södra The toon is and always will be MY team, im black and white through and through...i just love football and have an affinity with one club in each country i suppose. Just an ultimate football fan EDIT: re bayern, i like the way they play, and id quite like lahm, schweinsteiger and podolski in the toon side....oh, imnot playin FM anymore haha
  5. Yes you can read! haha each to there own fella... why dont you post yours instead of mocking?
  6. Sorry mate, he makes my skin crawl whenever i see him Shirley, i can't be the only one to have him down as a 'Blart' That mite be the dermititus mate... Each to there own fella, i quite like the bloke.
  7. Obviously the toon is the one which occupies the majority of all our hearts but im sure im not alone in saying i have a soft spot for other clubs to. That i look out for there results and would like them to do well. Going across europe and further afield if you like, who are your sides? Feel free to add other countries to the list too. Scotland: Celtic France: Lyon Spain: Barca Portugal: Sporting Italy: Juve Holland: Ajax Germany: Bayern USA: LA Galaxy EPL 2nd Team: Liverpool Championship: Forest League 1: Hartlepool, Leeds Other: Blyth Spartans Im not just a newcastle fan, im a football fan!
  8. Class! I really REALLY hope this all materialises!
  9. I was taking the piss. But so was he. Only I'm not laughing. You never do. He's a miserbale cunt lol
  10. I was at old trafford at it was a great battling display wit sparks of pace and guile...more of the same is needed! N'zogbia and gutierrez on the flanks is the way forward! Oba and owen prowling...like i said in OP iv got a feelin we mite sneak it 2-1 if we go and play and charlie is on the pitch...
  11. Want a pint mate? Your glass is empty? Lighten up man you miserable fuck!
  12. I'm not sure about Oba but Lua Lua has injured himself a couple of times. He was banned from doing it at Pompey across the pond there was a pretty funny incident... a player puts the ball into the back of the net and then does a flip to celebrate... he snaps his leg and is also ruled offsides... moments later the other team scores... the player runs to the other team's bench and does a flip right in front of them... Quality!
  13. Is it negativity? or being realistic? they have the league's top goalscorer, craft in midfield we can only dream of and again a defence we can only dream of. the only department we match them in is with the goalkeepers and i suspect shay is going to be particularly busy. yes theres a chance of a result, which is why you play the game, but at the end of the day we're playing the favourites for the league on their own patch, which just happens to be the ground which boasts a ridiculous record of one defeat in four years. MASS amounts of negitivity mate, if the players went into the game thinking what some of the fans think then we mite as well just give up now! Anyone can beat anyone on there day! Have a little faith man
  14. JFK not inspiring the team is not totally true, he seems to get player motivated at half time, just not before the match, which, im my opinion is more important! If you come out of the traps flying, it sets the pace and puts them under the cosh! I think so many times this season we have looked like the away side at home, and this is down to JFK not getting us firing early on. Your point about shola is ridiculus mate, he isnt a world beater, but by no means has anything to do with why we are in this mess. Im far more likely to lay the blame at the feet of the likes of Nicky Butt, Jose Enrique and Steven Taylor to some extent. Obviously the main blame is above them, firmly on the shoulders of MA and DW, had this whole palarva not of happened then we would be no-where near to predicament we are in now! As far as going down, and the sale of the club, i can undertsand your point entirely, the sale of the club is imperative unless MA stumps up 15mil in january which mite sound unlikely but he could do. Warnock...5mil Upson...5mil Skjelbred...5mil RB can wait till end of season as geremi can play there if needed
  15. And so it continues, a tough trip to plastic bridge on the back of two poor performances. Two additional injury worries in Taylor and Barton, JFK is left with his biggest team selection and test to date. Taking into consideration that JFK and CH tried to gee up Enrique only for him to fail miserably on the pitch, and Taylor looking likely to miss out, i wouldnt be suprised if we see a new back four combination on saturday. Beye Coloccini Bassong N'Zogbia I think it could work well, instead of worrying about Enrique drpping blunders and being poor on the ball and going forward, put charlie in there, add a bit of positivity and pace to the side. If we are going to get anything out of this game we have got to take it to them, we cant and are not good enough to sit back and soak up the pressure. Attack is the best form of defence. I'd imagine Bassong will continue at CB following his good showing last week as i dont see cacapa getting another run out anytime soon never mind against Chelsea of all teams. If he goes with that defence he will be able to keep his faith in Duff who i personally would have in the side but would accomodate him against chelsea for two reason, 1- His old club and theres a chance he will want to prove a point, 2- N'Zogbia who would normally replace him is at LB and will be able to support him. Gutierrez Guthrie Butt Duff Upfront i think we are going to see Oba and Owen, both scored last week and shola could be thrown on in second half to rough up there defence if needed. The optimist inside me says we can win 2-1 The realist says we will get beat 2-0 So thats a 1-1 draw then I'll take it!
  16. Solid performance but nothing spectacular... Upson done very well, id be sniffing around him in january
  17. Good interview...could he be throwing his name into the hat? I wonder just how good he'd be alongside BigAl but i doubt he would leave SKY now after all these years Great guy though
  18. You dont rate beye? Jog on fella
  19. I disagree, any sale is dependant on nothing more than the finances being agreeable so heres my belief. If, by January no sale has completed (and I believe its highly unlikely one will have) then MA will sell, sell, sell. The reason being that it will not affect the balance sheet, in fact it could enhance it. For instance, currently the books may look like this Shay Given £10m Steven Taylor £5m Michael Owen £0 (based on contract running out) Shola Ameobi £2.50 Oba Martins £9m If he can sell those for £12m, £12m (according to the wacky world of Sunday papers!!), £5m, £25, £10m then hes increased the balance sheet by £15,000,0022.50 which goes into the clubs coffers. Therefore club even more attractive to the buyer. I agree, not more attractive to any sensible football minded buyer but to a business one, its a no brainer. Or to be honest theres no reason why he cant withdraw that £15m for himself leaving the difference in the bank, balance sheet stays even and nobody loses, except the fans and club long term. Heres the double side to it though, that £39m (in real terms) would be sitting there should the sale fall through. Ashley will be able to withdraw it from his club and transfer it to himself. Sort of insurance if you will against the sale falling through. All of these things hes perfectly within his rights to do as he owns the club outright, he'd be doing no wrong in any of that. If he done the above then he then would have a genuine reason to fear for his safety.......
  20. There's that too We'v got nowt to lose
  21. Totally agree...I actually dont see why he wouldnt be a success, he would have a massive pull, attract quality players once in a decent situation. He would command the respect of the players and i truely feel he could far surpass the "messiah" status of KK. As a striker im sure he would play an attacking brand of football with two out and out wingers. Also from listening to himon MOTD he also seems to have a really good understanding of defensive duties, and as a striker id imagine he would know how a defence can be exploited and how to combat it. Id be very pleased if he took over tbh
  22. Alot of people on here feel he is too green for the job, alot feel he could become our new messiah?
  23. Even your point only strengthens my argument alex, if he does want to stay which there is a chance he does or will have to, what benefit is there in selling off? The clubs value will only decrease? Its a non starter imo
