Well i am worried but i dont think we nor spurs will go down. We both have decent squads, having said that we are not to good to get relegated. I think there are a few obviously fundamental issue's currently that need to be resolved. Resolving these is imperitive to our survival. First and foremost is the sale of the club. I cant see any benefit in MA holding on and not spending in january as it will only further disencourage potential buyers. As with owens contract. An under-contract Michael Owen and a half decent squad is far more sellable than a threadbare squad with a few talented individals and a key player out of contract at the end of the season. Then we have the actual "football issues" to deal with, the lack of malgimation, understanding on the pitch and positional awareness. We have a number of individuals who are good players or potentially good players. It is knitting them together, building a well drilled understanding and re-creating our style of football which has deserted us in recent years that is the problem. With the squad we have all is needed is to appoint a diciplined ambitious and knowledgable manager (Easier said than done i know) then sift out the dead wood (i.e geremi, cacapa, butt and smith) and start to re-build. How many times have we all said and heard those words "re-build!" But now more than ever it is the case, over the last few years we have said it was bad and change was needed, only now do we realise it was not as bad as we thought. I have hope but thats all it is...my pint glass is quickly emptying.

This what really bugs me. Not only to we have players who can't pass we have players whose shooting is woeful. How the fuck these blokes get to this level without such a basic skill is beyond me. It's also beyond me that when a player has an obvious weakness (eg Andy Cole and heading) why the hell it isn't worked on extensively in training. What the hell do they do "all day"? Totally agree mate, im no pro but i can spread the ball and twat it hard and accuratly...it does make me wonder how they made it, and more so how they justify MASSIVE wages and fee's! To jonas's defence, he was the player with the most assists last season in la liga and im sure i heard that he was resposible for 90% of guiza's goal for mallorca last season too. I just think that we havnt seen the best of him, worrying thing is we've seen plenty of drive but the only glimpse of creativity from him was squaring the ball for martins against villa. I think with a good stint with oba and owen upfront we will start to see more from him though. Hopefully

Does anyone think we stand any chance of him signing a new deal? Its going to be a very very nervy january. If we are under new ownership by january i can see him signing, if we dont get taken over till mid january we are going to be fighting an uphill battle. And if we dont sell the club at all in january then its definatly bye bye mo! Id say its 40/60 against us. It all balances on if and when the club is sold.

Dunno about the lowest but this season really has been poor so far, we just havnt got going since KK left, which is understandable seeing as we have an interim manager and the future of the club is still in the balance. But off the pitch chaos aside, on the pitch we have been wank. Today was awful, not only were we played off the pitch by a shit team from lancashit with a fat plastic pug faced geordie for a manager. We were resoundingly embarassed AT HOME by ten men. I have a worrying feeling that if the WHOLE situation isnt resolved in january the lowest point ever will be on the last day of the season when we are joining the likes of forest and burnley for some top quality football in the championship! Too good to go down? not at all

I agree 100% plenty of running and nothing else. N'zogbia clearly offers much much more! Correct N'Zogbia is miles better then Duff. Its baffled me why he hasnt even been in the picture of late, i hope, no i PREY that JFK has seen that he brings more to the side that duff. Pace, skill, directness. I am worried though on the other flank that gutierrez for all he seems like a good player, and i like him, seems to distinctivly lack any creative vision. Then we have our non entity of an engine room "the heart beat" of the team, more like a "heart palputation" Barton i rate, he gets forward, he spreads the ball about and he gets stuck in, he imo should be the heartbeat on our midfield, and i know some disagree but i think guthrie should be in there with him. Butt is dead on his feet these days, a liabilty not only in his pisspoor distribution but his wreckless tackles too. But the biggest worry isnt the individuals, its the gaffer or the guffer JFK. He has consistently shown his inedptitude at this level, his tactical naivity, his favourable attitude towards selection and the shit that spills out that cockney fuckin hole. I wish i could close my eyes until christmas morning and wake up to find santa clause had brought a sensible astute and ambitious business man to buy out Fat mike and JFK had fucked off to his shamrock pub in sarf landan. I was critising spending £18m on a striker with his sort of injury record I may be able to agree with what you were saying if the majority of the injuries he picked up were already underlying. The two he suffered over his first few seasons with us (Broken foot and ligament damage) we utter freak incidents that anyone could've suffered. Unfortunatly it's just happened to be Owen. If both were fit which one would you choose? Owen or Martins? Owen, if owens fully fit he's a clinical finisher i never have said he wasn't i've always said we just paid too much for him I agree we paid too much for him, but I don't get why you're still going on about it. How long ago did he sign? I think he is just trying to explain that even though owen is a quality player, 17mil and 100k a week (5.2mil a year) is NOT justifiable where as martins was 10mil and 40k a week (2.1mil a year) is more justified in the number of goals scored by each. His passing is poor, and this much-vaunted pace is nowhere near the asset that it should be because he's so slow in his head. I mean the concept of anticipating something happening is just totally alien to him. He waits. Watches where the ball goes. Then reacts. By which time his pace is being used to close the ground on the defender rather than streak away from him. Look, I love it when Martins scores goals. I was pleased for him today. All the celebrating was right down in front of where I sit and you can see he was fucking loving it. But I'm not daft enough to be blind to his faults because he wellies the ball in the net every now and again. Would he score more goals if the midfield played better? Probably. Would he score more goals if he was a bit better in some of the areas I've highlighted above? Undoubtedly. And we'd be a better team for it. I'm well aware that Martins isn't the only problem we have, but he's one of them. Yes his 1st touch is poor at times, iv never denied that but it isnt poor on the whole, id say 75% of the time his touch and passing is spot on. And as you say undoubtedly he would be a bettr player if his movement was sharper but lets face it mate who can blame him for not knowing where the balls going? We arent exactly predictable in our play, we have no style or rhythm so id imagine even the likes of henry would struggle for movement when you cant predict where the ball is going. I just think that if we had some consistency from out midfield and a set style of play then we would see more from him in terms of movement. Yes you can argue owen's movement is of a good standard in a poor side but he really is an exception to the rule. Your right but its not the wingers jobs to unlock defences with passes through the middle, they are there to bomb down the flanks and cross or cut inside. But funnily enough it was zogs pass which unlocked the defence for oba's goal. And again i agree about barton, he is the only one who looks for a forward pass through the middle, and iv said that him and guthrie would be the best choice in the engine room. Guthrie to roam around, closing down and harrassing players and barton with a bit more attacking freedom to create. We need to see more in terms on productivity from gutierrez as running isnt enough and i hope he has it because he has shown great promise. The problem still remains though that we need a creative midfielder, thing is there isnt much available out there when your mid table medicrity at best. If we could get someone in with natural vision and craft then id use barton and the busy body in midfield. Problems problems problems

Parky mate i respect you and all that but NO Zoggy needs to be in a more advanced position to maximise his impact, i to have gave up on duff so charlie takes his place. Id stick with the 442 with zog and jonas on the flanks just try and encourage jonas to thread through the passes. In his defence martins and strola's movement today was poor until zog came on when he found martins, in fairness that was one of few good runs by oba. I've got two holding players precisely (as you say) Zoggy and Beye can maraud. A team in our situation in this league with these players simply can't play with two wide players we aren't good enough and teams as today and as against Sunderland stream through our middle. The first rule of the Italian coaching manual is make teams play round the side if your team is on inferior quality. [possiblymadeup/]. I see the method in your madness or is that method in your manual? haha Thing is Butt is to old and slow to sit deep and if you play barton there you mite as well tie his bootlaces together, he needs to get forward. The big problem is the fact we have little creativity in the middle which we've all been saying for ages now. Personally i think barton and guthrie in the middle would be a better pairing than butt and barton. Theres just so many problems atm tho
