I'd still prefer it if Shearer were to earn his stripes at another club before taking on the job; just to see if he can hack it as a manager. It could be disasterous if he was appointed and didn't have the first clue what he was doing... I can't see him and JFK working together though, both are far too headstrong for a Roeder-Shearer-esque partnership. I agree to some extent, i would like to see big al ply his trade elsewhere ideally, maybe somewhere like southampton? But on the other hand i think he could potentially have a similar impact as to what KK had. And as for him being a bit green, it pains me to say it but "Roy Keane" And to your point of AS and JFK...its a non starter, AS didnt want to work with KK which would of been the dream team so i agree he his definalty not going to agree to something of this sort. Well first and foremost, Rob Lee is good mates with Shearer so i can understand his point about shearer being next manager, as far as the sale of the club, who knows, i was a little dubious about it too but the guy i was talkin to is a very respectable guy, a respectable source i dont know? I was mearly posting what i was told, i was in no form throwing my weight behind the story, just thought it was interesting. Paul, the guy at my local played in the charlton academy with rob lee and is a massive toon fan so i can quite well believe he is good mates with him. It may be true, it may not, thats what makes it interesting and a good topic to talk about. Unfortunatly my inability to spell seems to of scared people off! Oh well...

I was talkin to one of the guys at my local last night who's good mates with rob lee, he thinks that the club will be sold 100% before January and it will be an american consorteum with close links to Randy lerner at villa. Good news! His second point was that Alan Shearer WILL be the next newcastle manager, rob lee is very VERY good friends with big al and apparently al is very interested in being our number one if the american consorteum mentioned takes control as he knows what set up he will be working too. His 3rd and final point was that as it stands he thinks owen has some loyalty to the club, wants us to do well and wants to play in europe with us, he is however keeping his options open though, one to see if we are in a strong position come xmas to challenge for europe, secondly if the club is sold and thirdly as any human being would do he is open to a good offer from another club...Fair play to him. I cant help but think that should the former two points materialise then that would only enhance owens chances of staying imo. Was a very insightful conversation last night and tbh it all makes sence. Fingers crossed...and you heard it here 1st boys and gals!

All fine and wellhim saying this but id rather he didnt speak to the papers until he saying "Im happy to stay at newcastle and i've signed a new 3 year deal" This is encouraging though, sounds like he may well be thinking about it!

I take back my recent comments stating we wouldnt get into europe this season or next. Lets put it down to a small blip in the optimism lol When i actually think about it, we do have a squad capable of achieving top six, albeit with a bit of look and some consitancy. The whole grit and determination JFK has instilled into us can really be used to boost us up the league and going off a culmination of recent performaces we do have what it takes imo. The gap isnt that big and a good run would see us propelled up the table. Even if we didnt qualify through the league, theres the inter-toto and of course qualification through the cups!! Bring back the dellusion...ah hem i mean optimism!

it didn't look like bottom of the league against top 4 material at all. they were dire. and goes to show how much of a gulf there still is between the top 4 and the rest. TBH they we very poor last night by there own standards, but i think that is big part down to the way we played! I honestly think we have turned the corner now, onwards and upwards.

In all fairness i'v stood up for barton and will continue to do so when he is being unfairly treated...BUT He is a character who has to keep a low profile, other players are going to try and prevoke him, he's an easy target. It will be a massive test of character and last night he fell at the 1st hurdle imo. He initially did block off agbonlahor only to be hurled to the floor, after that agbonlahor was enticing him and being leary to provoke a reaction, which he got. A job well done by agbonlahor, he got what he set out for. Barton should really of contained his frustration better and on another day or even if the ref had seen it he could of been in serious trouble. As for saying he was lucky not to be sent off, i kinda think had he of been booked for reacting initially he wouldnt of made the tackle in the second half, therefor he wouldnt of been sent off. Hyndsight is a wonderful thing for all involved!!

Well i did say last week that he'd been wastful and frustrating of late, also put it down to match fitness. Iv always thought he would come good, i really do think he can be a 20 a season striker just who to play alonside him is the question? Great performance tonight by shola tonight too, maybe just maybe owen mite not push his way back in straight away!

Stop start 1st half, and we are lucky to be 0-0 at half time with that "quality" miss by agbonlahor! We have passed the ball well "at times" but we are still VERY wasteful! Gutierrez driving forward is a + but apart from that not a great deal to be happy about...apart from we're not getting beat. Im looking got duff to provide a but more spark, give him 15 mins second half if not then use charlies pace. Barton looked ok on ball making a few passes but he has got to get into final 3rd more. Martins wasteful but still potentially a match winner and shola been ok but all in all we need to see more from everyone! Come on lads, we can do this!
