why ? Serious question. Simple really. Had clubs who are in european competition next year not come in for either of them then we would of stood a a very good chance chance. Both want to ply their trade in england, and to both the premier league is a huge step up so any club offering them a better wage in england would have a shot. The fact we have a good history when it comes to french players here and the treatment of Barfa during his injury being well recieved in france we would of had a good chance than most just not against clubs who can offer that wage AND european football. Thus meaning against those clubs they were both out of our league. In a year or twos time we will be one of "those clubs" who can offer european football.

Personally i'd expect 3-5 from both centre halfs, dont really expect goals from fullbacks more so assists, an attacking central midfielder should be getting about 10, defensive midfielder like Tiote should be getting about 3-5, wingers i'd say 5-7 and a out and out striker should be getting 15-20 a season. How man goals do you think should be coming from each position? Equally important...how man assists do you think a creative CM and wingers should get? Id say between 15-20 for a CM and about 10 each from wingers.

Apparently he's on about 60k a week at Chelsea. That would prove to be a massive stumbling block imo. He is EXACTLY the striker we need and should of been our number one target to fill the number 9 shirt. Its evident that we arent going for ariel threat and more pace and directness so he would fit the bill perfectly. A loan with a view to purchase at any time would be good but i'd rather we just went in there and signed him permanently from the get go. Build a team round him. 10-12mil, 60k a week, the number 9 shirt and the guarentee of first team football should be enough to bring him here.

If Colo left, getting a fee of 7mil for a 29 (i think) year old is good. We would be losing our best CB and Shawcross would be the perfect replacement. Younger, talented and would be on lesser wages even with an improvement on what he's on at Stoke. As for Stoke being in the europa league...so fuck. One year....they wont be next year. Just got a txt from a mate who works with the academy. He was right about the Demba Ba contract. He reckons Sevilla bid 5mil for Coloccini and we have told them 7mil and it looks likely. Also that if that happens we have agreed a fee with Stoke for Shawcross for 12mil.

I'd definitely take a chance on him at around 4mil. Can play all across midfield and cover for both fullbacks too. Great strike on him. Think Barnetta or N'Zogbia are more likely though.

I like Jonas but he wouldnt be THAT much of a loss and if we could get 5mil+ for him then i'd be happy. Kinda suggests that we are still in for N'Zogbia or Barnetta though doesnt it? I'd want to keep him here and rotate him from the bench but i doubt he'd be happy with that. Plus 50k a week to sit on the bench kinda goes against what the clubs trying to do at the moment. Worry is....Jose goes, Jonas goes then Coloccini is most definitely going to follow. Dont get me wrong like 8mil+5mil+7mil for the three amingos is a good price but its the fact that it is massively going to unsettle the squad that worries me. Massive MASSIVE overhaul this summer.
