  1. We were after him last January when the deal broke down. Been released now. 28, Plays as a creative CM but can opperate on both flanks, in the hole and as a striker. Said to have great technique and be fairly quick. Another french born player who plays for Algeria. Worth a put for free if only to increase the squad and options.
  2. He'd do well in the CC and maybe its what he needs. For that reason a loan would be a good option but i just think the boys a tit and doesnt have the hunger or dedication required to make it at the top and for that reason alone....a permanent deal has to be priority.
  3. I'd actually be a bit pissed off if he signed an extension with us tbh. He's what...29 now and lets be honest has never pulled up any tree's, never really had any spell of consistency other than shite. He will do as backup for his last year and after that he can go for free to a Stoke or CC team. Same applies to Lovenkrands who i think is also in his last year? Come next season i think we will be shot of most the dead wood. Smith, Shola, Best, Xisco, Lovenkrands, Routledge and Perch. It would be good if we could bring in a few quality strikers and promote Airey and Vuckic in that time.
  4. I think its somewhere in the middle. The club see him as a mediocre/backup striker now and nothing more. 40k a week is alot for him but for one more year...i'd let him run it out. He's only going to decline in the next year so not really worth alot to the club any ways. His replacement wont be needed until next year so where we finish this year will have alot to who we actually get in to replace him. Could even be Airey or Vuckic premoted following on from another academy product.
  5. One year left and i think he's on about 40k a week. Simlar situation to Barton and Enriques only difference is theres probably no one interested in him. Im happy for him to see his last year out and be finally rid of him. He however wants a long term extension in which the club wont be offering.
  6. Pleased with this if true. If we can get about 1.5mil for him then I'd be happy to let him go permanently. He's on a 5 year deal on apx 20kpw so that cuts the bill by 5.2mil which could be used better on a new recruit. I wouldnt sell for any less though, then a loan deal for a fee of around 250k would be ideal. Now for Lovenkrands and Xisco out as well. I'd keep Best and Shola, promote Airey and with a quality new striker along with Ba and Ben Arfa we should be sitting pretty decent up front.
  7. I reckon he will either sign for Barca next week for 10mil or he will stay and see out his contract but if we are sitting healthy in January and pushing for europe he might sign a new deal then.
  8. Im not joking when i say this.....i really do think LM is mentally retarded. Seriously. Its borderline obsessive and pretty fuckin boring now like. Quite unbeleivable really. Sad thing is he is the only one who doesnt see himself for what he is....everyone else on here does. Not long now LM.
  9. I have my opinions and you have yours, you dont agree with my outlook and i certainly dont agree with yours neither. I dont want to be pointed in your direction. Dont patronise me you condesending arsehole.
  10. so its now September 1st 2013 ? That would be after 6 years of Mike Ashley's plan. SIX YEARS If we continue to sell our best players and not replace them, we will be back in the lower leagues by then, what exactly will "good finances" matter then, if indeed they would be "good finances", because once real apathy sets in, we will be heading towards administration and/or mediocrity a fucking damn sight faster than when we were playing in europe and "wasting" all that money on top footballers who got us there. Yawn... The NHS can help you with depression ya know? I've heard good things about cognitive therapy you still reading fairy stories then ? Did you get excited when you saw Santa Claus last Xmas ? Your patter is awful fella...

  12. For all im baffled with the complexities of the financial side, thanks to toonpack, chez and peaspud i've a decent grasp on how the finances are set up and lets face it....aiming to be a financially stable club, maybe even the best ran club in the PL in a few years (in terms of finance) it can only be a good thing BUT only if it comes about and doesnt impact our performances on the pitch. We need a solid and talented playing squad if we are going to progress on the pitch as well as finacially and if its said that other clubs, BIG clubs included are using a similar policy and we can maintain progression in the league then im happy. The impending financial regulations which come into play shortly are obviously in the minds of Mike Ashley and Llambias and i appreciate what they are trying to do. I just think if the club came out and articulated what they are doing with the clubs finances properly and reasured us that a new 10mil+ striker WILL be brought in before the end of the window, it would appease most fans and give us a true and transparent picture of what they are trying to do. I think now is the time for the club to do so. Failing that, so long as we bring in a quality striker im happy to wait until Sept 1st for the club to release a statement detailing where the 40mil (Carroll and Nolan money) has gone, if we are actually breaking even and what their true intentions and expectations are for this season and next.
  13. Was the stand out contender for me like...good appointment. I've always said a CB or a CM should be the captain. Hopefully Colo will be able to help infuence Enrique to sign a new deal with us now.
  14. CT...Obviously the club needs to find a way to fund these "fantastic" deals for the likes of Enrique and Tiote but surely the increase in the wage bill would be still fall under the monies we receive through other means that incoming transfer fee's. Carrolls exit pretty much enabled us to offer Tiote his deal. Nolans exit pretty much covered Cabayes fee and wages also. Campbell and Kuqi leaving would of reduced the wage bill further albeit not greatly but still....add Ba and Marveaux's wages in there and going to be around a 80kpw increase in the wage bill. That should still be manageable without damaging the clubs "financial plan" nor taking it from our transfer budget.
  15. Listen...im happy with how the window has went so far...Cabaye, Ba and Marveaux are good signings as well as Abeid who we may see a bit of, all brought in. Only Nolan out and i personally dont think he would of started many games anyway. Barton and Jose are still here...Even if Enrique goes theres a plan in place to replace. M'Bengue? Bridge? Im just a little pissed off with the vagueness in which the club have said "the money will stay in the club" and "all monies has been used for this that and the other" To me that 35mil should be used for transfer fee's and agents fee's only....theres no way the wages of new players, new contract for existing players and monie for training ground developement should be taken out of that figure. The 4mil we got for Nolan should cover most of the Cabaye fee so really in essence we've not or should of touched the 35mil yet. Confusing shit man.
  16. Get rid. Him, Ranger, Smith and Perch. How much did we sign him for? Cant see us getting much more than 1 to 1.5mil for him.
  17. Absolutely. Wages are part of the running costs of the club and that in turn should be paid with monies coming from TV and sponsorship deals as well as merchandising, tickets and match day income. I've enevr heard of this policy of using transfer fee's recieved to pay outgoing transfer fee's AND wages. Smokescreen? CT im all for us streamlining and aiming to run at a profit whilst building a team but this to me just doesnt make sense. I agree with your latter statement however...If we can tie Enrique down to a new contract and bring in a quality 10mil striker then if that was the end of our business i'd be pretty happy.
  18. The chronny today is claiming that the following have come out of the 35mil we recieved for Carroll... 4.8mil For Cabaye Agent fee's, Sign on fee's and salaries for Ba, Marveaux and Cabaye... Its rumoured that figures of around 1.5mil to both Ba and Marveaux as sign on fee's and another 1.5mil to both of the agents plus around 1mil for Abeid. 7mil. Salaries being apx 7.8mil for Ba (3 year deal on 50kpw), 9.1mil for Marveaux (5 year deal on 35kpw), 13mil for Cabaye (5 year deal on 50kpw). 26.9mil Also supposedly an "amount" set aside for new contracts to existing players and a large "amount" set aside for Enrique's new contract or should he leave a figure to get a replacement. A chunk of it was used for Tiote's contract and part of it was used for the training ground improvements. -------- Now im no mathimatician but that is in excess of 40mil already...Doesnt quite add up.
  19. I've just moved to Darlo 2 weeks ago so i'll be going....takin my lass too as she's from Darlo. Will be sat in the away end like. Will be good to see some of the new lads and a couple of the younguns. I'd imagine we'd start with a strong side and bring on fringe and youth in the second half.
  20. As it is...Key players should get around... Ba...10-15 Ben Arfa...7-10 Cabaye...7 Barton...5 Ameobi...5 Marveaux...5 Jonas...5 Lovenkrands...3-5 Taylor...3 Coloccini...3
  21. Agreed. Cant see a better front 6 in any teams we supposedly challenging with. Thats even with Shola or Ba upfront. ---Ba--- ---Ben Arfa--- ---Marveaux---Tiote---Cabaye---Barton And then fit Nzogbia and Erdinc into that Exactly! Then we'd definitely have these options off the bench that Pardew said we'd have this season. Pace in Jonas, Marveaux and Ba off the bench against tired legs
  22. Of course im guessing numbers....well not so much guessing but going of figured quoted in the press. It give us an idea how how much we could still spend against how much we could get for fringe players.
  23. Agreed. Cant see a better front 6 in any teams we supposedly challenging with. Thats even with Shola or Ba upfront. ---Ba--- ---Ben Arfa--- ---Marveaux---Tiote---Cabaye---Barton
  24. Cheers CT i couldnt find it. I think Pardew is quite admirable...i like him and he to me seems like an honest guy who really does want to create an attacking team and be successful here. Sounds confident on one more signing and that WILL be a striker and maybe one more...possibly N'Zogbia? Talked about more flair and pace from last two signings. Also said that the club will also move in for players as and when they come available once the season starts. Thinks someone and has a few ideas of who, will step up and want to lead as Nolans replacement as captain. Didnt sound positive on Enrique but assured there is a back up plan...I imagine a fee agreed for M'Bengue IF Enrique leaves. Wants to challenge for a cup and push top 8 this season and then really build on that the following year. Spoke of wanting to improve our concentration and see games out as well as bossing more and turnin more draws into wins with the new pace and flair added. Will speak to all keepers individually and assess in pre-season games. Sounded sure that there will be fringe players leaving and will have the "You can stay and be a squad player but if you want first team football then you can go" conversion with players i'd imagine like Ranger, Best, Lovenkrands, Shola, Smith, Routledge, Guthrie, R.Taylor, Xisco and Perch of whom i think Ranger (1.5mil), Smith (FREE), Xisco (1.5mil), Routledge (1.5mil) and one from Best (2.5mil)or Lovenkrands (1.5mil) will go. ------- I reckon we will get Erdinc (8mil) and possibly N'Zogbia (9mil) this or next week and M'Bengue (6mil) or Warnock/Bridge if Enrique goes. SO That would be another 23 mil spent with around 8mil brought in for Enrique and possibly another 5-7mil for other fringe players leaving.
