  1. Fuck sake. Nolan and Barton are 29. If we can bring in younger players of good quality on cheaper wages then why not? These things happen and i just dont see how whinging and crying is going to make any fuckin difference at all. Just accept it a look at ways we can still improve. Personally i think Jonas will stay. Barton could follow suit to West Ham and Jose will move abroad. Cabaye will be our new creative force through the middle (i hope) Guthrie and Gosling will move into Nolans squad place if we dont bring in someone like Gardner and we would need a quality left back as replacement for Enrique...Warnock would to short term but i'd much rather we got M'Bengue. A match day 18 of... ---Krul--- Simpson---S.Taylor---Coloccini---M'Bengue ---Cabaye---Tiote--- Jonas---------Ben Arfa---------N'Zogbia ---Erdinc--- Subs: Harper, R.Taylor, Williamson, N.Taylor, Gosling, Gardner and Ba ...Would be an improvement in my eyes.
  2. Cant you read? Man and i had you down as the intelligent type. Replace with the money we'd receive from outgoings and ADD to the squad with the 35mil. Simples. Alex really has been busy on you lot like.
  3. If he was sold for 20mil+ then in the same way as Carroll id see it as good business for the club albeit dissapointing. But thats just an acceptance of FMA and is NUFC model. It wont always be like this. We will be bought out at some point. That said....i dont think he wants to sell our best players at the 1st decent oppertunity. I do think he wants to make us successful but at his price...it can be done.
  4. ...Nolan, Barton, Jonas and Enrique are sold. Presuming we get figures of around 4mil for Nolan, 4mil for Barton, 8mil for Enrique and 8mil for Jonas. Aye the team spirit that was forged may well be dispanded but in terms of qualit on the pitch who realistically would you be happy with that we got in as replacements? Enrique: M'Bengue 6mil OR Warnock 3mil to go into the 1st team and Neil Taylor as back up 1mil Barton: Cabaye 4.5mil Nolan: Gardner 5mil Jonas: N'Zogbia 10mil That there is pretty much replacing each for the same amount as we'd get for all of them. Leaving the 35mil to still be spent on ADDITIONS...STx2 and a RW.
  5. Exactly. People jumping on the negatve train again...its laughable really. IF.....he and other arent replaced with quality however, thats a different matter all together but im confident we will bring in quality and be stronger come the start of the season. Who's to say that these lads wont fit in? Who's to say they wont adapt well and we will be better for it?
  6. WTF...your an idiot. This is the worry isnt it? Massive disruption to the squad but you never know it could work. Just gotta stay positive People can whinge and moan that players are being sold but no matter how much moaning goes on its not gonna change anything. Accept it and move on. Stay fucking positive he says, shit, you fuckwits are the just the sort of fans Ashley's looking for... What...loyal? Staying with the club through thick and thin and remaining positive. I like the next man want FMA out of the club but for the forseeable future it doesnt look likely.

  8. Nolan 50k = Gardner 10 goals last season from midfield 30k Barton 75k = Cabaye 40k Jose 55k = M'Bengue 30k Jonas 50k = N'Zogbia 50k, Sulejmani 30k, Jarvis 25k, Lens 30k Say hypothetically all those deals came off, we'd have just replaced the players we sold with players of a similar or lower quality, but with some on lower wages. Wow, that's really got me creaming my fucking pants in excitement. Taking into account the obvious bond between the four players you're proposing we replace, and I imagine the on-field results will be significantly worse than when they were playing for us. Gotta make the most of a negative situation. Just offering my opinion. Like i said in an ideal world we would keep them but its not going to happen and those replacements would do a job for us.
  9. I know where you's are coming from and the cynical side of me says thats what could end up happening BUT we would still need to replace them AND add more to the squad. However my optimistic side says hey thats 50mil we now have to get a new LB and LW (M'Bengue 6mil and Nzogbia 10mil) as well as Cabaye (4.5mil) who we've already brought in and 5 new additions to the squad. Neil Taylor 1mil Sulemajni 8mil Demba Ba FREE Gardner 5mil Erdinc 8mil 43mil spent.
  10. Has it? All i can find is articles saying we are in for him. Havent seen anything otherwise?
  11. I agree in an ideal world but we dont live in an ideal world do we? Of course we ideally would want to keep Nolan, Barton, Jose and Jonas and add to the squad. But...It does seem apparent that FMA wants to cash in on these players when we can get a good price for them and remove their high wages from the bill. Replacing them then is a huge issue but not an issue thats impossible to overcome. I see all this a part of a huge wage, team ethos restructure in light of the impending new financial rules.
  12. Well......if your gonna sell, sell well like. Id fucking snap their hands off at that price. Yes we would be strengthening Liverpool but at that price we could bring in M'Bengue and N'Zogbia and still have change.
  13. Nolan 50k = Gardner 10 goals last season from midfield 30k Barton 75k = Cabaye 40k Jose 55k = M'Bengue 30k Jonas 50k = N'Zogbia 50k, Sulejmani 30k, Jarvis 25k, Lens 30k
  14. Quite a few sources claiming the deal is for 1.5mil??? Wtf!?! Didnt we reject a 3 mil offer? If true then you have to think that there is actually a fee for Demba Ba or we could be getting a player in exchange.

  16. Thats what i just said. Aye Nolan, Barton, Jose and Jonas are important to the team but i dont mind us selling them for good fee's, removing those high wages and replacing with younger quality players on lower deals. Good for the club as a business but a risk for the team on the pitch. If dont wisely though the risk is less. Just directly replacing players isnt enough though...we still need 4 on top of that.
  17. Better engine than Nolan, seems better on the ball too from what i've seen and he has a habit of having a go from 20-25 yard which imo we need! Young too so a good move.
  18. I'd say JB would be 1st choice as he had it when Nolan wasnt in the side, thing with that is i can see him leaving as well now. Coloccini or Tiote would be my choice if their english is good enough? Failing that id imagine it would be Saylor or Harper should the latter start next season.
  19. Obviously the board seen the Nolan deal coming so have went in for him as a replacement. Good bit of business if it comes off imho.
  20. I have mixed feelings about this like, we rejected a 3mil offer for him last week so im presuming the agreed fee will be about 4mil but why not disclose it? If it is 4mil then i guess we are getting our money back on a player whos 2 years older than we signed him. His goals and influence on the team have been of massive important and his wages since he's been here are the price we've paid. Worth every penny. Getting 4mil back for him IS a good deal when he is 29. My worry is and especially after Bartons comments on twitter that he, Jose and Jonas will follow suit. That in itself worries me as it disrupts a pretty settled side...BUT...if we get good fee's for these players and reinvest them wisely then i dont see it being much of an issue. Yes we will have to change our style and it will take time for the new lads to fit in but it fits the FMA model of a younger and cheaper squad which can progress and increase in value. Obviously i'd of loved Nolan to stay and for us to keep JB, Jose and Jonas but they are all on huge wages, Jose doesnt seem commited and Jonas has had his fair share of doubters so as long as we replace with quality im not bothered. Gardner as a replacement for Nolan is a good move. Cabaye as a replacement for Barton is a good move. Sulejmani as a replacement for Jonas is a good move. Only thing is, that wouldnt expand the squad and thats what we need. I anticipate a VERY busy summer ahead.
  21. Only picking up on one of the obvious and monumental errors in this 'article', but there's no basis for the argument that being relegated was good for the club financially or otherwise. At best you can suggest that the relegation was a catalyst for some financial decisions with long term benefits, though the fact is that just as many players (if not more) could have been sold if we weren't relegated. In addition it's likely that they could have been sold for higher fees for the following reasons: (1) We would have been in a much stronger position to negotiate if we weren't relegated. (2) They won't have been buying players who weren't good enough to keep the team up. So we could have sold exactly the same players without doing damage to the reputation of the club through being relegated. Plus of course the small matter of the £40 odd million of television money that was forfeited and the dramatic decline in corporate revenue that would have occurred. If the 'finances at Newcastle are immeasurably better than they were then' despite the relegation then just think how fucking fantastic they could have been had the owner not completely fucked everything up and contributed heavily to a relegation that likely had a cost approaching £50M. How exactly is that a good thing? You make a very good point. But hindsight is a wonderful thing. Personally it happened, it could and should of been avoided but it wasnt. End of. I think like iv said before it was a positive in the sense that it enabled us to shift the shit, get rid of the bad apples, reconfigure our goals and come together as a solid unit. We stormed the CC, kept the crux of that solid dressing room and had a very good 1st season back in the PL. Yes it could of been much better but again hindsight is a wonderful thing. All i know is the NUFC ship was rotting well before FMA came in, SJH and FFS gave us some great times but it was unsustainable, they seen an oppertunity in FMA to get out of a sinking ship. They had there fun and fucked off leaving us in a mess. FMA came in and took us without doing due diligence but im glad he did...but not without fault. SJH and FFS had years of experience running the club and should of known better, FMA was new to this kinda business and brought in Moat (who i think was good for the club) and then Llambias to help with the running. Obviously mistakes were going to be made, we never thought it at the time but looking back it was inevitable. Fact is...with all the shit thats went on, the mistakes made and the anger caused, i am happy with the direction he is taking us now. This summer is where it can go well and we can all join together and be optimistic and give him this season to prove to us he can take us forward, or he doesnt learn from his mistakes and everyone will be signing from LM hymsheet (Me included). Then we can only hope for a sale...which is possible. I for one think we will have a strong summer and enter the new season a better, stronger and more talented squad than last and we will go on and have a good one. 7th and the FA Cup would be a fantastic return and only what we deserve after the last however many years. Now is a good time to be aiming for it. Matter of opinion though isnt it?
  22. I got a text yesterday saying he was going to sign a new deal next week but the length was unknown. Would be fantastic if he did. Re-found his hunger and form and buys into the "vision". Cabaye signing is a positive sign and i think if Enrique does sign then we mite also see Nolan and Barton staying too.
  23. Absolutely spot on. Another quality post. Both your opinions are pretty much how i see it as well.
  24. That was my first impression of him when he came on as a sub. Thing is he had just come back from a pretty bad injury and seemed pretty good when out on loan. Scored some great goals, set up and few and looked dangerous. Id like to see what he can do in a full season out on loan, no injuries, and then assess whether he'd be good for the 1st team. If he went permanently it would be a shame but i guess if AP thinks he should move on maybe they dont think he will cut it.
  25. Deano

    Demba Ba

7 goals in 12 games for a relegated side? Thats pretty good goal to be honest and shows he has the bottle. For nowt he is a good signing as a squad player. Better than Shola thats for sure. I know the stats - just not convinced. The guy hasn't failed medicals for nothing. Failing medicals has nowt to do with quality.
