  1. Big time. The thing is from 92 to about 2008 it was basically a closed shop in terms of season ticket holders, now any fucka can go, that's my theory. You rarely heard a mackem accent pre Keegan the first time ever.
  2. I've long said that there should be a breathaliser going in to grounds, and if it's proven that you haven't had 4 pints before the game, unless you've got a doctors note, you should be refused admittance.
  3. Awful fucking place, basically brummies but more aggressive. They're overachieving having three seasons in this division in my view. Hope they go down. Steve Bull is a cunt too.
  4. I think the atmosphere about the time I started going to games late 85 to 89, was absolutely amazing. Watch Newcastle v West Ham 1986 to see what I mean. Even though we were shit, amongst fair minded people we were rightly regarded as the best fans in England, we were by a million miles, vocally, numerically and loyalty wise virtually untouchable compared with anyone when you compare success by turn oot. We come in the top 10 once between 1977 and 1994, yet we were always in the top 5th-7th best supported club in the country, seeing every world class player we had sold. The atmosphere was almost always mint, although you can look back with rose tinted glasses. Alan Hansen said on our promotion in 93 we were the best supporters in the world, and that's someone steeped in wallpusher delusions. Even when it became all seater the atmosphere could be hair raising. We won 32 out of 38 home games between 1995 and 1997, and the crowd won us so many points. I remember a game against Everton we had 10 men for 80 minutes, and won 1-0 the crowd got us through. The expanding of the stands in 2000, didn't help the atmosphere but you can even now get an absolutely brilliant noise at games, the mackems last season was up there with anything, and Cardiff the season before, but generally the atmosphere can still be OK, but modern fans have ruined it. The younguns can't even sing we love ye Newcastle properly man, it's the modern fan, not all younguns are like this, but that's my reason behind why it's shit sometimes now. I mean where I sit we're surrounded by cunts who go to garden centres on a Sunday (and enjoy it).
  5. I'd rank them about the 7th best side left in to be honest, they won't get a sniff of the final and if you'd saw them in Serie A lately you would see how average they are. Arsenal can make anyone look decent at the minute, even fucking Bolton kept a clean sheet against them. Canny side? Aye? CL winners absolutely nee chance, if they were 50/1 I wouldn't stick a quid on them.
  6. Am sorry to hear about your relations bowel cancer I hope by some miracle he pulls through, it's a cunt isn't it Me dads got a fighting chance now like, but he's been where your dad in law is now in the last few weeks believe me. All the best.
  7. As someone who never will be in the Trent Posse, I can second all of that. What a canny, genuine lass.
  8. The http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unit_731 of threads.
  9. Tyldsley kept saying Milan are definitely CL winners material. ARE THEY FUCK. Chelsea could beat them, it's just Arsenal are so shit. Arteta or Rosicky wouldn't get in wor centre midfield.
  10. Piece of ITK to end all pieces of ITK. Cameron's broken his ankle in the toon today, and he's in the RVI. More OB than nurses apparently. Has anyone else heard this?
  11. 9:09 how a crowd should celebrate a goal. Arsenal have never celebrated like that in their history.
  12. https://twitter.com/#!/DJisatwit See kids like this, the face of Yorkshire in every regard.
  13. Any ideas what that means about his private life?
  14. As I said on twitter, these myths about him spending millions, he's made a profit on his transfer dealings, and the Rhodes signing was inspired. Look at these Yorkshire mugs: Clark deserves thanks for what he did and the effort he put in, but as DH has realised, he's not quite good enough. Read more:http://downatthemac.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=65208&page=4#ixzz1mSXbtpra Not quite good enough? 3 defeats in 60 games, they're fucking Huddersfield.
  15. Aye I've got no doubt the blue dippers would've won it in 1986, what a team they had, they could've won it in 1988 as well like realistically.
  16. You're reet! I tell you another time it happened, Euro 88 when Holland beat Ireland 1-0 with a late goal, that ball fucking curled, think it was a header from Wim Kieft.
  17. They needed to win 2-0 not just win, but I bet they'd have given Milan a game in the final. I remember McSwegan's equaliser against Marseille the atmosphere sounded as good as you'll ever hear. Still a bunch of parafins though.
  18. A few years ago they might have faired ok (around the Laudrup, Gazza, Albert, Di Canio, Larrsson era). The current crop are woeful. Faired well aye maybe 9th/10th even the Celtic team that got to the UEFA Final was not great on paper. When you look through the names we'd have probably have had Larsson but who else then in 2003? The likes of Sutton, Thompson and Hartson were largely failed Premiership players to a degree which is why they managed to get them up there. MON worked miracles, and had their delusional support in a frenzy, they massively overachieved, but hats off to them, beating the likes of Milan and Barcelona. I'd say Rangers 91-93 was the only Scottish team capable of competing for the title here since the 60s.
  19. The taxman's out for blood, becasue of the very example's you state above and their "protected" status as football clubs. Accrington and Aldershot are the only two that went tits up during the season and couldnt continue to fulfill their fixtures. Maidstone United too iirc.
  20. As if to highlight what a tiny insignificance of a club Rangers are, we get bored after 40 posts and end up talking about Derek Ferguson's time at Sunderland, Uruguay's population, and why Scotland didn't go to the 1950 World Cup
  21. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1950_World_Cup Anyone know why Scotland withdrew?
  22. The small nations who have come 3rd and 4th are the likes of Belgium pop. 12m Holland pop. 15m Sweden/Bulgaria pop 12m. Uruguay is 3m people.
  23. Aye I'd agree but THE anomoly has to be Uruguay. The population is the same as the North East and Cumbria, 2 World Cup's and third place in the last one. Definitely punch above their weight like. I'd dismiss the two world cup wins though. I'd dismiss the first one definitely not the second one though. To win it in Brazil with the lights of England in it, who basically looked down their nose at everyone till Puskas was nee mean feat.
