  1. Best way to be. When you stop laughing at people tripping up in the street, and stories about people falling through, there's nee turning back from being a miserable cunt.
  2. Blackfriars best one in Newcastle, I wouldn't gan nee where in Stowell Street been to nearly everyone - aal pish. Blackfriars really is the daddy, beautiful food - canny portions, and it's not that expensive.
  3. Yeah our wage limit is about £50k a week for a key 1st team player. Arteta is on £70k a week but that looks like it was a mistake after being crap for most of last season. The rest are on about £50k - £55k or less. We too are looking to reduce costs though, and with Piennar off the books now, and Yak & Yobo looking likely to be shipped out we clearly can't afford to have so many players on such large contracts... I agree with that though tbh, but I can't understand Ashley's stance with some of your more established key players. We seem to be shipping out the deadwood (bar piennar who wanted to leave), whereas Ashley's approach seems to be to get rid of key players and bring in relative unknowns. Seems a risky strategy to me? So your best player is on £20,000 a week more than our best player, who would be your best player if he played for you. No one signed in the last 3 years at Newcastle is on more than 50k a week, I'd be astonished if Ba's basic is more than 40k for instance. Our wage bill will be less than yours without a doubt, yet our turnover this year will easily be £20m more there's the difference. Our last reported wage bill was £50m, Nolan has left since, and Smith on the way, which probably covers the three new buys plus another possibly. You last reported wage bill is £54.3m. So despite having a significantly smaller income, infrastructure and everything else that goes with it, you are stretching yourself wage wise more than we are, and clearly pay the extra dollar to get players in to the club, which highlights the irony of your massive histrionics regarding the Ba salary the other day. Argument over - no come back.
  4. I find Scotland's decision to say they won't be allowing any Scottish players to play in the GB team at the Olympics funny. Seriously who would get in from Scotland???? Charlie Adam possibly for the squad in all seriousness, who else? Hutton? He can't get a game for Spurs. Seems a very backward step from the SFA regardless of who is or isn't good enough to be honest. Losing Wales would be a bigger blow with Ramsay a year older, Bale, and perhaps Giggs tempted if Beckham goes ahead with playing. isnt it an under 23s tournament in the olympics with a few over 23s allowed in the team? that criteria basically strips away ALL of scotlands players who had a hope in hell of playing. Aye true how many over age players are you allowed. See the law for Under 21's too you can be 23 and still play as long as you're not 22 when the qualifying kicks off. So you could be nearly 24 by the time it comes around an legally play U21.
  5. Good morals you like J69 to say you're from Chester Le Street You could be on all night listing footballers who have done that. In fact you could make a fucking cracking team. Beardsley and Rooney up front, Giggs on the left wing for starters.
  6. Here's five from me: Chelsea will win the league by at least 6 points. Newcastle will sign someone like Woodgate but not necessarily him, but over 30 as back up before 1/9/11. Argentina will win every game they play in the Copa America in 90 minutes. We'll have signed 8 players between 31/5/11 and 1/9/11. Nile Ranger will be at a club within 50 miles of London, possibly someone like Brighton or Watford, and in the near future will fall foul of the law.
  7. Nee disrespect to Scottish Mag here, but there's more deluded Scotsmen than Englishmen.
  8. Personal cunts tricks man, stories you know of cos we could just say aye Harold Shipman once committed a slight cunts tricks. I mean you could say aye me parents moved to Warrington when I was born..... by the way I've never been to Warrington so I don't if it's a nice place or not, just heard people who live say it's nee Beverley Hills.
  9. I think one of the basic things when it comes to human decency is belittling people behind their back and being cruel. My story below is one of the cruelest tales you could imagine happen to a toon fan, I would've been in tears/ready to commit murder in one go. One of my flaws as a person and assets some might say is that I never ever say anything behind someones back I wouldn't say to their face. I can be confrontational because I think it's a weak human being who has something derogatory to say about someone when they're not prepared to say it to their face and even worse when it's an action you do behind someones back like me story. I can't even bring myself to slag people off when they're not there. Treat others and you'd expect to be treat yourself, which brings me on to my main point. What is the slyest trick you've ever heard? Mine involves this kid I knew years ago, bit of a cock to be honest, haha I'm contravening my own little rules above a bit there, but anyway he and this other kid, a very well known local heed the baal, younger than me like were thick as thieves. They had season tickets together at the match for years, grew up together from 3 and 4 years of age. Massive toon fans even though they were both dense. Anyway 1999 FA Cup Final both had plenty points so the heed the baal sends off the application, tickets arrive not far from halfway line, happy days. Anyway the htb lost £450 in the casino this one neet, he needed the money for something. In the mean time the other lads mother became critically ill in hospital she improved but it was a shit time for him. Then a few days before the cup final the htb disappeared down south with the other lads ticket. He'd only sold a £50 ticket for £380. He justified it by saying the other kid hadn't give him the £50 up front so technically it was his ticket. The other lad went to Wembley looking for him didn't find him and didn't get in the game and had to watch it on TV near the stadium. Now if that had have happened to me, I reckon I'd have done time for it, I'm not trying to sound like a hard cunt saying that am soft as shite for me size, but it is the single most cruel thing I think I've heard in a pals relationship ever. You ever heard a bigger cunts trick than that, and if so what is it?
  10. There's non of his albums I particularly love as a whole, but there's always one or two tracks on every album he does that I can put on repeat for weeks and weeks without getting tired of it. none
  11. Suppose he'll have a few quid to spend if Birmingham get that £5.4m nest-egg from Villa for McLeish.
  12. Agents are full of wind and pish what they shouldn't even be published. They'll manipulate anything and anyone to get a deal over the line. If by some miracle we sign Erdinc and Matuidi for the £23m being banded about, I'd expect the agent won't be too disappointed with his commission.
  13. Am more interested in hearing what Nesty off here thinks about it.
  14. I think that's naive tbh. There probably isn't a club out there who have been in the PL for a few years who haven't had their fingers burnt by a Smith-type signing. It's unfortunate but it happens. They'd still be willing to listen to any offers and would have been happy enough to peddle Nolan even if Smith had gone two years ago imo. Again that's not a defence of Smith or greedy bastard footballers in general but to ascribe the cause for the way the club is being run and the willingness to offload the likes of Nolan, Barton and Enrique to Smith isn't looking at the bigger picture. His wages are a relative drop in the ocean. 3% of total annual revenue goes to Smith, or £1 of every ticket sold. If everyone was paid that we could afford to have 20 footballers at the entire club. I was being a bit silly by blaming him but in business there are always key insights and philosophies that drive decision-making. I reckon the experience of having Smith on the books is seen as far from a drop in the ocean to someone like Ashley who has built his business on small margins. A small margin business has no wastage, which is what Smith is. If wages make up a high proportion of cost (emphasising the importance of margins), then dont waste any and you'll be a much more effective club. The opportunity cost of Smith is very very high. I am of course just second guessing the impact of his situation on the way he / the club are trying to do business. It might not be right (only the board members would know) but i dont think its a useless way to look at whats happening or appears is about to happen anyway. 7% last year in the ccc, that was my stat of the year. Either way I'm taking a day off work to go the drink to celebrate the day he officially leaves.
  15. Have any of your twitter ITKs been right yet? No because his source is cwarr07 the biggest naka on the toon supporting internet.
  16. Quite correct only logical reason he would choose such minnows as us over a goliath of a club like Everton FC.
  17. Bit harsh on yourself, Gateshead. If we sign this kid I think it's clear he's not going to be first choice anyway, all I know of him is he got sent off with a ridiculously rash challenge against Forest after 2 minutes in play offs, not arsed either way.
  18. I thought we were bland, a bit meh, tin pot and small time? How can I learn from you guys when you all contradict each other? You're a bit like Brimham Rocks. Played a small part in British history, old, tired, and people forget they're even there now.
  19. Indeed it did... although it wasn't on the forum, but on the actual site itself... not sure if this adds more validity to it or not though? Its fine though as i've been reliably informed on here that NO player would EVER choose my small time shite tin pot club over the mighty Bacelona of the North East. Or would they? It makes sense, what player in their right mind would choose little Newcastle over a club with more history than ancient Egypt and ancient Greece put together, a club who's seven letters me more to world sport than any other, a club of such interest and influence their transfer decisions have a major impact on the global economy????!?!
  20. Oh dear. Who are you on twitter like J69?
  21. Leeds asking the toon to pay 30k a week of Smith's wage for the next 12 months. I'd do it personally, I'd pay the lot, but this emphasises what a prick the bloke is. He could go back to his home club on 10k a week but he's digging in for his money here. Will be a great day when the ink is drying on his Leeds contract.
  22. What has it got to do with me? But if your asking for my opinion then thats bang out of order. He's an associate of yours and so is his mother Iris.
  23. Why do these companies insist on fucking about with the flavours of their products. If it's not broken why fix it? Although it's a very simple meal, I used to LOVE, Heinz Vegetable Soup it was lovely dipping 4 or 5 slices of bread in, but they've fucked on so much with the flavour it's borderline mingin now. They've done the same with Pickled Onion monster munch, and now Mars Bars. A mars bar 20 years ago didn't taste like this, and they're saying they've made them more healthy, I don't like being healthy, I'm a fat cunt by choice and I liked them the way they were. There's loads of other examples of this, fuck knows why they do it.
