  1. Shocking result today. We have been found out and have issues all over the team, but the defence is the real problem, we are conceding far too many against poor teams at home. Created lots of chances on the plus side, so we do have a basis to turn around this bad run if we can tighten up. Simpson, Williamson fit for pub football. Williamson at least has a look of self pity about himself that makes me think he realises he is in above his neck, but Simpson just boils my piss. Santon extremely average. Need a new CB and at least one full back to improve. To be honest we've brought in a lot of pish, Santon, Marveaux, Anita, Bigirimana, Amalfitano, Abeid, all pish.
  2. I think its 50/50 this season. What about next? Any improvement? Can you see us challenging for a champions league place in the coming seasons with this policy? Im interested to know what you think - not "funny" questions. Why should we be competing for a CL spot in the first place? We're arguably punching above our weight/over-achieving at the moment. OK rephrase that- do you (and others who agree with selling our best players - at the best price might I add) think we should be aiming for a CL spot in the coming seasons, if we finish 7th / 8th this season, say? What is the objective? Like any business, there should be a vision / mission. We will all have a different perspective on this and this will reflect how we think the club should be run... I for instance would be looking to secure a European place over the next 4 seasons, at which point we should look further. I do not think we can achieve this by selling our best players. I dont think we can even maintain the status quo, mid term never mind long term.

  4. For every Tiote, Cabaye, and Ba there's a load more bargain basement nobodies we've acquired with little return. We've done good business in the transfer windows but its pure luck if you ask me. We broke the bank to bring in our best players in the mid 90's, there were a few flops but what about Ginola, Les, Shearer, Asprilla we wouldn't have come so close without spending the money on these guys. If a football club operates on a shoestring then they can kiss goodbye to pushing for Europe again, it isn’t going to happen. I would accept the current situation if we would at least hang on to our home grown talent, that cost us nothing anyway. We could have kept AC and signed Ba on a free anyway. Yes I agree 35 million was an unreal amount of money to take for Andy, but WHERE IS IT? We may as well have sold him for 300 million, the money hasn’t been reinvested so what’s the point!? Pure luck? Yeah we just threw a few names in a hat and pulled out the likes of Ba and Tiote. No homework done on them at all. Retarded logic. Add up all the transfer fees, add agent fees, add contract extensions, add training ground improvements, add academy improvements, add paying off debts and you'll get some of your £35m "where is it?" question answered. Perhaps we'd have been better selling Carroll for a lot less given how much it bothers people. No, that's you answering the question in your own words, apologies if I do not accept this as gospel... but I don't buy that.

Firstly, we're not operating on a shoestring. Secondly, we're currently pushing for Europe. What do you think our chances of Europe are this season, out of interest?

  7. Yep ,with you on that. Good summary of the occasion in general, gutted I missed it.
  8. Most would agree in principle but do you GENUINELY believe we will see the rest of that money? It wouldnt surprise me if the crook in charge is syphoning whats left off fraudulently or if a new Sports Direct superstore pops up somewhere!
  9. Would swap Carroll for Ba and Cisse. Would rather have all three. I dont see how any sane person can not agree that the direction Liverpool are TRYING to take, albeit directed by a misguided idiot (Dogleash), is not at least the right approach even if the execution in this approach is lacking somewhat. Anyone who thinks the fat cunt in charge of NUFC is taking a better approach: E.g. Selling your best players and not reinvesting the money Is either related to Mike Ashley, his mate, deluded, or for the most part simply VERY optimistic!
  10. lol - naa, not as big as those guys. I'm no salesman but I work for an SME that sell Manufacturing Execution Systems, so unfortunately spend time supporting slippery sales cunts talking out their arse as the guy kindly described I do!
  11. 1. No more than it changed expanding the capacity at St James' Park, and in turn migrating to individual pockets of "atmosphere" (noise / chants etc), which I think has made it worse. I think the spark would have been lost PRIOR to the game, the gut feeling in the build up heading to St James' and taking your position in the gallowgate, leazes corner, etc but I can't see this translating into any loss of atmosphere during the game. I enjoy having a few pints in Shearers or Strawberry before the game ALMOST as much as watching it! It wouldnt be the same if it wasnt St James'. 2. Not sure if diluted is the word but the all seater stadium is far more agreeable for family, tourists, women and kids. The increase in this demographic has definitely changed the atmosphere from the terraces. 3. Yes and see my first answer!
  12. Redundant. Although this is annoying, redundancy in wording can often be used to highlight what should be an obvious situation or fact to an unknowing or ignorant listener.. woops done it again. This is a cheap method of communication but it can work. If you have ever been involved in sales then you will understand redundancy is part of our staple diet. : )
  13. No I dont think drink enhances your performance. I think the focus on his drinking / going out is irrelevant unless its alcoholism - this is just a young guy going out. As per my first response the team around him and the clueless cunt in charge of Liverpool are the real reasons his performance is poor this season.
  14. Apologies if I have upset you! If "pics pop up all the time", my overly exaggerated description should be translated to something along the lines of him not getting into the trouble he was, say a year ago. He's had a long spell out of that trouble and this doesn't seem to have improved his performance in any way, in fact he seems worse. My opinion is (good chance im wrong as im not perfect like most here ; ) ) going out on the lash once a week isnt such a horrendous crime. All players do it, some just stay out of trouble. He's been an idiot when he was extremely young so fine, but you need a second chance.
  15. Could be the case but do you not think that could also decribe at LEAST half of all footballers (and us normal folk as well?) ? Also, if he's a jimmy no mates at Liverpool and has taken on the life of a nun then it does not seem to be helping? I personally think living a little helps! but hes not done that at all not in any way, shape of form is that accurate Shape of form? I dont mean he has taken on the physical appearance of a nun nor do I mean it literally! He's no worse than any other player of his age. He went out, got drunk, got in a scrape. Made an arse of himself. Now he'll live by that reputation forever, and so be it. This happens when we are young... people deserve a second chance. He's hardly tearing up the streets of merseyside every weekend wreaking havoc.

  17. Stephane Guivarch - world cup winner and the best French centre forward of the time. Shame we couldnt keep hold of him before he moved on. He made a pledge to score lots of goals as well, I remember. We missed out.
  18. I've had AC back in my fantasy footy team since the Suarez ban, was sure he was going to turn it around. Andy is a class centre forward and in the right team (like ours) he's a human wrecking ball and so dangerous. Having kept an eye on his performances over this period it is clear Kenny Dalglish is still as clueless as he has ever been, and I have regretfully had to give him the boot. Back to real life, I really dont understand that cunt in charge of Liverpool. Surely, when he was interested in him to start with, he must have knew his strengths and weaknesses. Every fucking armchair fan in the land knows he plays direct and needs to play alongside the right sort of player (aka Nolan - who also looks shit without AC beside him). Yeah lets spend 35 million quid on this player, a player who's goalscoring tally is based on strength in the air and good direct support from midfield. His control and ability to carry the ball over any distance is limited, but lets bring him in... lets put him in a Liverpool side where he quite frankly gets ignored because he SERVES NO PURPOSE in this team. Suarez, Downing, Kuyt, Adam, anyone - when they look up and see him they nearly always ignore him if he's open because their quite frankly largely ineffective style of play doesnt suit him and he either loses the ball or does fuck all with it. Having said that when he has had the chance he's show some signs of his usual strenghts, flicks / headers on etc. Feel for the lad in terms of his shattered confidence, if Kenny doesnt go he should get out ASAP. I would love to see him back here, he shouldnt have gone in the first place forget the 35 mill.
  19. This is cringe-worthy. He's also in the wrong for publicly attacking his employers. Whatever you think of him, that's never going to be a good idea. Don't make out like he's completely innocent in this. If by cringe worthy you are referring to; the performance tonight, the abilities of Ba, Cabaye, Marveaux, then agreed 100%.
  20. If anyone were to dig up my old posts on Joey my current opinion would be hugenly hypocritical. The guy has done a complete U turn in terms of his performances on the pitch and his attitude on and off it. If anyone is deluded enough to think that any of the dross drafted in on the cheap over the summer are in any way the calibre to replace the sort of player WE have brought on in terms of Barton, then, they need your head looked at. Look at the state of them tonight - against Scunthorpe. The whole twitter bollcoks has improved his image in the public, the guy can express himself and he has more than a morsel of a brain cell which is more than can be said for 99% of footballers playing in the premier league. I know what happened with Andy Carroll and the way that fat cunt in charge of this club pushed him out, for a good price but in the case of Barton he wants him off the wage bill regardless of the affect it wil have on the team. Consider the rep this guy had when we signed him and how he has turned that around, he's the best English midfielder in the country and like the best English striker we're gonna get rid and not for 35 mill but for free, a disgrace!
  21. Gobsmacked... First Nolan, now Barton. And of course Andy's transfer last seas. The logic behind the free transfer of our best player, and also getting rid of our best player's before that, is... ? Ashley is a Mackem.

    Barton

I've been waiting for this news ever since transfer deadline day! Would be good to know where this has come from, but regardless.... bollocks. I was wrong about Barton having previously slated his talent, he's proven to be a class player and Hughton's regular right sided role really brought him on. Really hope we can keep hold of him. The only saving grace is potentially his reputation may put a lot of clubs off his trail! I'm surprised he wasn't chased more in Jan.
