Dont get me wrong, twitter is in no way as good as a forum for a discussion. you can however use it for that if you wish. I simply use twitter on my mobile, so when Im not at my PC. While I dont use a forum from my mobile. End of the day, its still using the internet as a medium for communication

Id pretty much agree. The tracking of "celebs" is a bit crap tbh, though the musings of Stephen Fry can be quite funny (I d/l his podcasts as well). What the difference between saying on an internet forum "good stuff on tv tonight", "just watched this film", "listening to this music" and posting the same on Twitter? Dialogue? I'm just guessing by clicking on your link mind, do you get something else if you sign up? Dialogue is the same on a forum really? You reply directly to people by adding @ infront of their name. Bit like if you quote on a forum. I can't agree with that. The "dialogue" on Twitter is restricted to 140 characters, the layout doesn't lend itself to discourse and the subject matter is generally lightweight by necessity; you can't begin an holistic discussion of society when your diatribe is interrupted by someone twittering the colour of their bowel movement. Yeah, and the subject matter on here is always high brow http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?showtopic=23810 And the posts are always long and detailed discussion: being the most popular reply. Or how about a selection of long, informed discussion points : Lets be honest, seldom any net forum, twitter, facebook or whatever is used for prolonged meaningful discussion, but mostly a source of mild amusement and time wasting.
  4. If there was a ewok in shot it would all make sense. Clearly the underneath of a space ship from Star Wars and he is amongst the undergrowth on the Ewok planet.

Welcome to last year. Ive used this for ages, shame its become "the in thing". I do wonder though about those who dont "get" talking to strangers on the internet about subjects they have in common, and then say this to strangers on an internet forum
  9. Not expected anything from this game for a while. I dont think Martins and Owen are a great partnership anyway (as two up front), but I did like them in a three up front as mentioned earlier. Cant see Viduka starting, so Id imagine it will be Owen & Carroll up front, Viduka possibly coming on later in the game for one of those. Read something recently saying Martins has been carrying an injury for a while. I think 2-1 to Spurs is a fair shout.
  10. Seems odd if we can take 2300 to west ham that was sold out? 2914 to Arsenal that was sold out and so on?
  11. Wait a minute.......did you not take your full allocation?
  12. Danny, that report was based on everything, not just cost of living. Hence, London was rated quite far down the list.
  13. Pps In my opinion, most Weatherspoons are dumps with shite beer.
  14. Can I just add, where does Danny get this illusion that London is such a fantastic place? Can I throw in, for good measure:

    Lap Top TV Output

Yeah, tried that also. Oddly, I have another lap top and when I use that one it mirrors right away. But, as this one shows the extended desktop or normal loading screen when booting, Im convinced its a windows setting rather than hardware.

Yeah, need the lap top on at the same time
  17. For someone who spawns from a town who thinks gormet dining is a Greggs and a pint of Broon I find this kind of hard to take. The score is simple, if you want to drink before the game, go to HH, if not dont. Speaks volumes about what you know

    Lap Top TV Output

So, I've got a LCD Tv at work and have hooked up an old Lap top to it. During start up the display is showing on both lap top and tv. When windows starts the TV goes black. I tried first pressing the usual FN+F5 to switch display modes but for some reason the lap top isnt responding to that (though the F5 key is the right one for this lap top). Ive went into display settings and I can tick the second monitor and choose extend display and this then operates as dual monitors. So I can move the mouse from the lap top screen to the TV screen etc. But thats not what I want. I just want a simple clone of my lap top screen. If I stop extending then the TV goes black. Im convinced I need to get the F5 function to work and am lost to why its not. Im running Vista and its a clean install. I've checked the BIOS and there is nothing there. Any idea's?
  19. He's on about row in front not tier. Anyway, while I havent fallen, when I've jumped as we've scored (not often this season I agree), I've regularly twatted my legs off the seat in front. Knacks as well. Edit : I fail to see why you can't have standing with a bar in front of you. Not to get drinks served, just a metal one to stop you moving back/forward.
  20. But it does, that's what our cocknee sparra can't quite get How is that different to Sunderland or Boro? If boro sell out (they used to), thats like 1 in 3 of the population attending. Would you call that special? Would be nice to get an answer on this. Boro don't sell out and even if they did it wouldn't represent 1 in 3 of the population. Will that do? Population of Boro: 135K. Population of Newcastle upon Tyne is 259K but I dont see your point Danny? Im not including North Tyneside or Northumberland just like you are not include other places in Teeside. Actually, hang on, id you use 135K to support your 1 in 3 arguement? Are you saying Boro have had 45K attendances in their what 35K seater stadium or 25K at their old ground? Anyway, it pointless, if you want to compare attendance to population then you need to look at the catchment area of the ground not the just the borough the ground is in.
  21. But it does, that's what our cocknee sparra can't quite get How is that different to Sunderland or Boro? If boro sell out (they used to), thats like 1 in 3 of the population attending. Would you call that special? Is Boro a city? Anyway, not the point. Sunderland possibly so. A lot comes from the working class background and that mindset. I'm not sure about Boro though. People with far more football knowledge than I will say that Newcastle fans and city have a different passion. I haven't experienced what Sunderland or Boro is like day in day out to give comment. I was saying what Newcastle is like, I can't say what others are accurately like. Much like you. However, do Mackems or Smoggies have the same national identity? Do people across the UK even know what a Smoggy is? Many might not even know what a Mackem is while Geordie is known and associated with our club. This is about identity and Geordies have a much stronger identity than any of our north east rivals. But, I'm on about the bigger picture, not just the north east. This is of course getting away from the main point. What exactly was your point again?
  22. I cant be arsed to get into the whole debate about any club being special or not. What I will add though is the vast difference being in a small one club city. NUFC is on the vast majority of peoples lips every day. I can walk into any shop, or when I get my hair cut or whatever and the conversation will always get onto NUFC. Its the whole focus of the city. If I go to other cities they may be more rugby lead or may have more than one club. When people think about Newcastle (the city) they think about 1. Geordies and 2. NUFC. Both go hand in hand and have a unique identity. This doesn't make us special or anything, but you have to live here to understand it.
  23. Never trust a man (excuse the assumption) who smiles in his sleep. Or actually....
