While its ok to say the team we have is the one that got us 5th i think you need to realise that: - we were lucky with injuries as far as key players go - we played out of our skin - teams around us were poor So with that in mind, we have just about stood still. In fact we are weaker up front and fuck knows what we will do if Senegal get in to the ACoN. Our back four at it strongest is good in the middle and ok on the flanks. We get an injury and things look dodgy. Biggest thing for me is those around is strengthening. So it's not just us standing still and what teams around us are doing. We still have a good first 11, but by fuck they are gambling with luck.

Totally agree that income is nowt to do with it. I'd say it was more a state of mind and general way you live. I do ok financially, run a business, live in a canny house and have the usual trappings. I have convinced myself now like that our planned purchases were on the back of selling someone like Tiote for £20M. When offers were not forthcoming we backed away from some of the players we wanted. Bringing in Anita was done on the back of getting rid of the deadwood. imo ofc.

I cant help but think that deep down they wanted to sell one of our top players for £20M so that we could use the money to buy 2 more players for around £14M + wages all in. Reason we didnt buy is that no one came in for one.
