  1. Gemmill do you even have an argument/a point/thoughts/a brain ? Easy to sit back and try (unsuccessfully i might add) to pick holes in someone else's argument without offering positive thoughts on a route forward yourself. My point is simply this: 1. We are not going to be able to sign a John Terry or a Rio. 2. We 've paid big money for the likes of Boumsong, Shambles and have even brought in experienced Full backs in Car and baba and it hasn't worked out, (failed miserably in fact). Should we 'A' panic and sign another big money defender i.e. Curtis for £9m who may well turn out to be another flop like Shambles or Boum or should we 'B' let pearson work with the very promising potential, crop of youngster defenders and mould them into quality players? Taylor is our future in defence build round him. When i put it like this, surely even Gemmill can figure it out the right move. I don't know how you dare accuse me of having no brain, with some of the thick as pigshit stuff you spout on here. "Let's stick with the current defenders that we have. They might just come good." Have you heard of C. Sign an experienced centre-half? Or are you only allowing yourself the two options, you fucking numbskull. OOOooo don't let me get to you Gemmy baby And who exactly would you have us sign? Give an example? P.s. Not a bad sugestion though for you, who did you steal it off? Honestly mate, you're an idiot and you prove it every time you post on here. A month back you posted your starting 11 if everyone at the club was fit, and it featured Duff at left back. A left winger at left back. A few weeks have passed and now you say that we need sign no defenders despite that fact that you think our best left back is a left winger. Keep up the good work. In future, stick to your TEAM FOR A MATCH 3 WEEKS FROM NOW and PLAYER RATINGS threads. Clearly logical thought is not your strong point. Been doing your homework and checking back on all my old posts to see if you can dig up any dirt i see. Didn't find any ??? Oh dear thats the best you could come up with? You really are a complete Div aren't you??? How can anyone be expected to stick with the same team for three weeks bearing in mind the squad is different week in week out with little things you may have heard of such as INJURIES (players missing because of them and players returning from them) SUSPENSIONS (players missing because of them and players returning from them) not to mention FORM (a player who has played badly, you may want to replace with another)!!! And u have the nerve to call me a Numbskull .. when you think its strange people changing their teams around a bit, more often than every three weeks!!!! Your laughably thick!!!

OOOooo don't let me get to you Gemmy baby And who exactly would you have us sign? Give an example? Not my job to give examples. It's up to the club to establish a scouting network that does this for them. Sticking with the current back line on the off-chance that Edgar and Huntington just might make it as Premiership players is crazy though. How many goals have we conceded in January alone? And you want to persevere with this defence. Interesting as well that in your team for Villa you've selected Duff at left-back. Good way of demonstrating your faith in the defenders you say we should be sticking with. Ok ..... so your not going to give any examples....??? ..... what a surprise. I notice that you haven't even thought up a team V Villa for tomorrows game (what a shocker) just trying to pick holes again without offering your own arguments i see. Very easy to sit on your fat behind and critize everone else, much harder to come up with your own arguments of course. Other than Baba, Duff is the only natural left footer we have who i know is capable of playing LB. I personally happen to think that we should really go for Villa from the off after our very poor starts lately and that is our best team in order to do that. None of Taylor, Ramage, Hunty or Edgar (despite his impressive performance v Man u) are left footers or even Fullbacks dipshit, so yes its Duff for me !
  3. alex Posted Today, 11:50 AM " It's hardly our job to identify loan/permanent signing targets for the club is it though? It's tough to get players in during January, yes. Given the injury crisis and the summer debacle (I still think that's what it was) we should have been trying to get people on loan for months now. I bet we haven't been though. " Very speculative, here's some more. Maybe just maybe its a bit harder than you think. I'd personally bet Glenn has/did have targets but either: 1. Their club didn't want to let them go or not till the end of the season. 2. They didn't want to come here. 3. their club will let them come but only if we pay way over the top type of money. etc etc There maybe players who want to come but are not good enough.

Are you really thinking a club like Newcastle which should (financially has to ) compete for European qualification can afford trying to mould some youngsters with questionable talent over a long time into Premierleague players. Yes Taylor is a natural leader for starters. Nobby as RB and we need a good LB more than we need a 7th CB. Who do you propose we realisticallty get in now then? I totally agree that Roeder should have got Campbell in when we could have. Big mistake, but its spilt milk we are not likely to get him, so what now then??? I'd be happy with Taylor, Hunty, Edgar, Ramage + 1 experienced defender like Campbell. But unbelievably we've given Shambles a new contract plus we've got the very experienced, nearly over the hill and slow Moore already till the end of the season. My proposal would be to give the youngsters the chance till the end of the season, we have 6 CB's, then if needs be we get rid of Shambles if we can, Moore's probably going anyway and we get a more experienced CB in at the end of the season. No one seems willing to part with quality CB's at the moment without paying way over the top prices.

  7. Our new young defence was being big time praised only a few weeks ago, now a few bad results and many want some panic buys in. This is not the way forward imo. Our best CB's in my opinion are (in order): *Birmingham was a freaky game everyone bar Milner was unbelivably shite, so unfair to single out individuals on this one. Taylor - Awesome player. Will get better and better with experience. Edgar - Debut filling in at LB against Man u was awesome, we need to see more of this lad. Hunty - Big lad at 6'3 with real potential. Ramage - Not particularly good at LB, but different story at CB, did very well until had a few poor games against Everton and west ham. Moore - Very experienced, reads the game well, but on his way out now and slow which is a huge minus in the Prem. Shambles - by name shambles by nature, not the laughing stock of the Prem with out very good reason. A clown of a defender, who has proved this season in season out. THE WAY FORWARD: We should keep faith in Taylor and find out who is his best (out of Hunty, Edgar and Ramage) partner. At the moment Ramage is out with a hamstring so its up to Roeder to try out Hunty and Edgar. |I like edgar alot personally but Hunty has good potential too. THE WAY BACKWARDS: panic buy an expensive flop or pick Bramble and/or Moore over Hunty, Edgar and maybe Ramage to deny them the experience they desperately need to prove they can become top players. p.s. O'brien worse than Shambles!! p.s.s. I understand why some are anti Ramage, he's been poor lately and is deservedly a scapegoat at the moment. In my opinion its a little too early to completely write him off yet though.
  8. Luque over parker and Duff?? No chance Nate!
  9. Lets hope he gets off to a slow start!
  10. Ah, the voice of reason! Well said Patrokles! Imo we are not massively desperate for players. we should work with what we have unless we can get an absolute top player in (i thought/think we should get a decent LB in though).
  11. Given injured, Harper not good enough, Krul too young? Given is only out for a month and is not usually injury-prone. Harper is a decent back-up keeper and Roeder seems to rate him highly, and Krul has bags of potential...I don't really see the need for another keeper, unless Given will be sold. I suspect this must be bullshit. Goalkeeper is the one position we certainly do not need anyone else. Given may be out for a month but Harper is very good cover and Krul looks like he might be a future Star and we've brought pav in for the incredibly unlikely scenario that those three are injured.
  12. No Edgar even on the bench? Our defence has been a big cause for concern, but bringing Shambles back in really is like leaping out of the frying pan into the fire imo The answer to our defensive problems may be right under our noses with the likes of Taylor, Hunty and Edgar. Work with them and within reason give them the time that they need. I'd also rather have Ramage in than Shambles though, as although Ramage had been poor at LB and has very recently had a few bad games i.e. Everton, Brum and West Ham all spring to mind, although he is certainly not the only poor performer. Admittedly Ramage is deservedly scapegoat of the month, perhaps because Shambles can't be but would have been had he been playing(personally i think we'd have been better of with Ramage, even in hindsight) . He's more likely to come good than Shambles is, i'm totally gutted they gave him a new contract, he's been calamity prone season in, season out for the last 5+? seasons now! Normaly when some on here say he's been good its because he hasn't been punished for one of his many errors.
  13. Sorry forgot about that , i'll edit it.
  14. Shay expected to join injury list with Ramage. Duff and Baba fit now apparently. How far off are Emre and Zoggy?? Harper Edgar Taylor Hunty Duff Milner Parker Butt Emre Dyer Martins Krul Car - I woulden't play him but i bet Glenn will. Baba - Play him LB if he's fitter than Emre and/or Duff O'brien Le Sib
  15. keep him till the end of the season untill we can replace him.
  16. And play who in central midfield, exactly? When we've had the players fit, Dyer has played exactly those positions you support. Le Slug! someone else !! even the Fat ginger Mong if desperate enough !!!!!! Just play dyer where he'd be more effective!!
  17. ROEDER -10000 FOR ORCHESTRATING THAT ABSOLUTE DOGSHITE PERFORMANCE!!! Dyer on the eye looked like one of our best players but he shoulden't play CM!!! Up top with Martins or on the RW!!
  18. At least ramage and Taylor tried to defend (ok they failed miserably) did Pattison try and attack ??? Pass and move??? Not in the whole fucking first half did he even attempt to!!! Great winger/CM!!!!!! Milner and Shay were our only two ok players tonight the rest were absolute dogshite from hell!!
  19. Think Hunty was better than Rambo tbh. Those are negatives. Correct Hunty was better and yes they are clearly negatives.
  20. Given 5 ok Nobby -2 Worst game ever Taylor -4 At least Nobby managed to stay on the pitch Ramage -5 We'd be better off without this cunt on the pitch Hunty -2 Crap Pattison -9 SHITE!!! Butt -2 Crap Dyer 2 Shite in CM move him either up top off martins or on the RW Milner 6 Half decent Martins 4 No service shit passing. Le Sib -4 Le Slug
  21. Jerome for me! 10 x better than Le Sib, we should sign him ASAP!
  22. Absoultely shocking first half, passing piss poor, brummies should be three up! Ramage, Nobby (yes Nobby), Hunty, Pattison all particularly very crap. The rest (bar shay and Taylor) just crap. O'brien should come on YESSSSSS !!!!! he is now i think!! MIlner!!!!!! 2-1
  23. I'll set up a thread in your honour Sima after his next MOM performance. Since he's been here he's been quality and probably had more MOM awards than any other player, i'd expect Given to be the only one close to him. He's out at the moment but he'll be back as good as ever soon, i expect you'll be back peddling soon enough. Man of the Match performances given on how many teams he needlessy slides in to a tackle, prompting cheers of "GEEERRRRRRRRIIIIINNNNNNN" from a section of our fans as the midfielder who evaded his tackle steams up the pitch? There may just be more to his MOM performances than that. I remember the Arsenal and Waford games in particular to name two of many when he coulden't physically give us anymore, fantastic to see.

  25. quite. if everyone was fit, he wouldn't make the starting eleven. Wouldn't he? He's by far the most effective right winger we have in the squad. Chances are Dyer would be on the right and Duff on the left. If everyone's fit (very unlikely): Given Nobby Taylor Ramage Hunty Dyer Parker Emre Duff/Zoggy Owen Martins Harper/Krul Edgar Butt Milner Zoggy/Duff ****** Ameobi/Le Sib * We will always have a few injuries though and need to rest players too, so the versatile Milner at the moment is quite rightly almost always going to get in the team. I also like Dyer behind Martins but if Owen comes back on form we are not in a position to drop any of those three if playing well. Its nice to have three quality CM's in Parker Butt and Emre because of injuries, suspensions and having to rest at least one of them now and again. Why do Parker & Emre remain your first choice partnership in midfield? Not only do they play horribly together, but Butt has probaly been our best player this season. As for Dyer, he's relatively anonymous on the right. I would have him playing just off of Martins. Whilst your Butt argument is a very good one and i agree that Butt has been in good form lately, i do not agree that Parker and Emre play 'Horribly' together. I also really like the Dyer/ Martins pairing up front at the moment they look great together, but if Owen comes back then surely your not suggesting not playing Owen?? or is your line up a 433 without Wingers? i.e. Given Defence Parker Butt Emre Dyer Owen Martins
