  1. Just saw a previous interview of Sky's Spanish football corespondent who recommended an up and coming young manager (Deschamps) as an ideal candidate and reckoned Ashley might have been pointed in his direction. He seemed to rate him.
  2. I really don't know what to think. I don't follow continental football much so I have no idea how he lines his teams up. Why isn't he still at Juve out of interest? I'm intruiged as to how Mort came to see him as the answer seeing as how neither him or Ashley are footballing men? Hopefully it's a tip off from Wenger this time rather than that turd Kemsley.
  3. Add to that his transfer record is decent if safe, and he does have some authority about him. He's probably my choice for the job from the bunch mentioned so far. Liverpool fans seem to think Houllier went downhill fast following his illness.
  4. Did he not actually say that "top managers from Europe" were queueing up ... only to appoint to the disbelief of most the tosser Souness (or was it Roeder)? both unfortunately.
  5. I think a better assessment of Houllier would probably come from Liverpool fans. They had him there long enough, it would be instructive to see whether they rated him.
  6. I just keep reading how his team play passing football which is easy on the eye. Admittedly most of this coming from Louise Taylor who's eihter shagging him or has a vested interest in him getting the job.
  7. Can't really say I think Blackburn play great passing football. They look a bit functional to me, but that might be because they are budget players. Maybe Hughes could produce a more attractive team with better funds. We thought that about Allardyce as well mind.
  8. I'm leaning more towards Mark Hughes tbh. I'd prefer Van Gaal or Mourinho but these are sounding more unlikely every day.
  9. No thanks. Houllier's medical history doesn't suggest he'd be up to the pressure cooker he'd be in here. Not the worst appointment, but his football's a bit negative, if quite slick, and he did sign some shite players.

A try-hard plodder who hits a decent shot every year or so. There's players like that in Eldon Square 5-a-side league for fucks sake.

Nolan is a try-hard plodder. Dragging Dyer into the argument isn't going to change that.
  12. If I was Ashley, I'd sack Pearson as of today. His only distinction so far has been to piss off N'Zogbia and Martins in his last stint in charge, and get thrashed 6-0 this time round.
  13. You can add to that Michael Carrick who Alan Oliver, to this day keeps quoting as a local lad, despite the fact he chose West fucking Ham, then Spurs over us when Fat Fred kept begging him to come home. I just don't get it with BC, seeing as he's had exactly the same upbringing as Jack and Jack is so obviously proud of his roots. Fair do's Bobby had a great playing career with ManUre so he's going to feel an affinity with Manchester, but it's not as if Jack played his career in the Leeds Sunday League. He had a great career in an excellent Leeds team, yet somehow unlike Bobby he is still able to remember where he's from. Fucking can't stand him or his fucking ludicrous Whip-over hairdo (as was) Bobby Charlton was always a spineless fish who often got chinned by big bro Jack when he was a kid. This might explain his need to escape his Ashington roots. He's probably still getting chinned to this day.

  15. I'm pretty certain the quotes are genuine, probably made off the record though. You can be sure if they were made up there would be at least an apology in print demanded by Ashley.
  16. Keegan as DoF maybe with Shearer as Manager. It goes against all of my better instincts, but at least everyone would be swimming the same direction. If Hughes gets the job there's always going to be those who feel cheated that we didn't get the Dream Team. Shearer and Keegan would need to make it known though to those that matter that they will take the job if asked. They don't need to be diplomatic like Hughes who is in employment. Capello didn't make any secret of the fact he wanted to boss England did he?
  17. You can count me in. Ashley and Mort have made mistakes and the rest of the country is having a good time at our expense but we just have to get on with it and put it right. I am very confident in the guys at the top.
  18. Spot on tbh, and a few on here say they have not put a foot wrong? I've said they've got stuff wrong, but just because this is the first high profile bit of business they've done, doesn't mean it's the first major bit of business. There were web pages dedicated to the financial mis-management of the place, so they should get credit for sorting that mess out within a matter of months. A major bit of business that puts the club on a vastly improved footing at the roots. Well said. Thought that was a really good article as well, agreed with most of it, although I think it was right to sack Allardyce.
  19. That's exactly what he was considering. Why do you think he wouldn't speak to the press on Friday? Because he was thinking about taking the job in general. Unlike Mort he probably didn't want to look like an idiot if he ended up taking it, by giving a press conference for his current club an hour before taking another one. Commuting by plane would be just daft, no one in their right mind would do it. It's spin, denied again by Redknapp today. If he's talking shit, then like I say there are many with an interest in proving him a liar, well this is a golden opportunity for them, so why don't they act? Because it's pure crap. Who cares who's telling the truth. Mort and Ashley are on our side. So Redknapp can fuck off.
  20. He went clinically insane on national television and we still love him. Even if he only did as well as Allardyce, the least he'd do is play football the fans would put up with. I think we love him because he went clinically insane on tv tbh.
  21. I wish I could say I disagreed but...
  22. I really hope not. I don't want anything to tarnish the guy who brought us the best years I've ever seen at Newcastle.
  23. Says so much about Allardyce's judgement.
  24. Yes he is. I really hope he doesn't though, As the original Messiah (AD) I would hate to see him fall from grace, and it's a risk he doesn't need to take. You're Jesus Christ? It would certainly account for all the babbling bullshit he's talking about me not you
  25. Getting shafted by Sunderland yesterday just made him look like a bigger tit in my eyes. Kemsley led us up the garden path with this one.
