  1. honest i think this seasons all about cutting the fat , we cant push on till we get rid of some of the dead weight thats on 60kpw+ . while there still on the books its limiting trasfers as there is no cash left to pay wages at the club for any new players . gonna be years before we push on with mikes stratergy aswell , by the time some of the youth he's intending on buying come good , keegan will be long gone .
  2. The point I was making about HBOS wasn't the figure that he actually lost (though if you want to discuss the ins and outs of spread betting then we can - and the figure was still over £100m) but the fact that he can throw that sort of money around to speculate, we are small fry compared to the rest of his business empire. The clubs income comes from 3 main areas: TV, matchday revenue and commercial income. All three of these will go down if he starts cutting costs on the field, it's as simple as that. A football club is not a business where you can streamline and then sell off for a profit, it just doesn't work like that. no your right , he doesnt mind taking a gamble with his money , altho i think that hbos spreadbet was more calculated than his exploits at the roulette wheel . i firmly expected the guy to come in and started parking tanks on the lawn , commercial ties with his other interests and all the fluff that comes with it . as it is tho , its very easy to cut the fat out of this club within a couple of year and sell for a profit , remove the debt and reduce the wage go's a long long way to that , the tv and commerical money wouldnt have suffered much in the time its takes todo that . he certainly didnt pay over the odds for this club , hidden debt or not .
  3. There may be no truth in him wanting to buy Spurs. That's a separate issue for me anyway. It's just that I worry he might just have bought the club with a view to making a profit. He seems willing to ride roughshod over people when it comes to his other businesses so I can't see him giving a shit over pissing off Newcastle fans if he rakes in a load of cash in the process. I'm definitely going to wait and see what happens and I'm taking all the press stuff with a hefty pinch of salt but I just don't think his wearing a Toon top and getting the drinks in in Blu Bambu proves a thing about his intentions. The man made £29m in two months on his Adidas shares, he lost over £100m on his HBOS shares. Given the amount of profit he could hope to make on our club and the amount of time he has to spend on us I don't think profit is his motivation. I still reckon we're a billionaire's toy thing. actually , he didnt lose those 100m on the hbos , he would have if there share price had stayed down , but it was up the very next day due to investment from the board and talk of scaremongering to drive the pirce down , it was a spreadbet on the share price rising or falling before a certain date , the day it fell the papers were all over it , the day it went back up there was hardly no mention . to make a profit from the sale of this club he doesnt need to win anything , he could keep us in midtable for the next few seaons , trim the wage bill and outgoings , increase revenue from other things , leisure and entertainment (racecourse guy and fifty club guy) . with our stadium and average league attendance (even when were shit) we are a really attractive buy . what did we make from league finish this season ? pennys compared to the 100m income .
  4. on paper the only thing spurs have going for them imo is berbatov and keane ,both players could probably walk into most other teams , the rest of the squad can get to fuck as far as im concerned . ill put money on us losing out to targets all summer long to them tho(london) , and man city(bigger transfer fee's) and everton (europe)
  5. Not as far as I know, he is mates with Paul Kemsley who used to be vice-chairman. Two things that Wacky says completely contradict each other. If Ashley's plan is to buy young players in and develop them to sell on in the future for a profit then the talk of him wanting to buy Spurs is surely bollocks as he wouldn't be around to reap the profits on any of the players. Plus Spurs has been ripe for a takeover for a few years now, if Ashley was going to make a move for them then why would he have bought us? It's not like he needs a stepping stone. they have stuck a 400mill price tag onto spurs , the only thing that makes it unrealistic is the small stadium and nowhere to expand it into , but then again liverpool went for 350mill and they need a new stadium aswell. ashley got the toon at a good price , and thats taking into account the debt we have aswell .
  6. thought they would have went for alves or micah , then again they still might! . i dont doubt romans going to scrap his 5 year spending plan this summer and put a hundred million quid into the squad . there bound to have a few players we could poach this summer , and by that i mean ones that are not past it !
  7. ohh im the cock , ok . go pick a fight with some fucker else then . manu(660m) , arsenal (300m) , liverpool (350m) fulham (137m) . they dont seem tobe worried about the debt . if anything is unsustainable , its the 10mill a year wages mort and allerdyce stuck onto the club last summer .
  8. there you go again with the insults , why do i always find you hanging off my nuts when ive never adressed you in the first place? rather than swinging your cock about like a know all , why dont you bless us with your knowledge and literacy skills , maybe write us a poem . the club saves how much per year now the 'debts' payed off? who benefits from that ? how many other clubs are debt free?
  9. you dont think the 70mill debt (which he knew about) was factored into the share price ? as it was , and even then he got it cheap for a company with our income , regardless of outgoings , which like i said are easy for a guy like ashley to get down .
  10. sounds more like putting your finances in order to make it more attractive for sale or future refinancing, dont forget mike knew he was taking on some debt , thats why he got a club with 100mill turnover for 134 mill . The ratio of turnover to sales price means fuck all if the club is making a loss, which it was when he bought it. Seriously, I would stop trying to argue using the numbers as your basis as, and no offence is intended here, I really don't think you're too hot on figures. the problem with your response is that its very easy for ashley to reduce to outgoings of this club as we are now seeing him do , yet the income thanks to us mugs is never likely to change significantly look at ashleys business aquisitions , he takes over companys cut's out the fat , makes them more appealing for sale . With how many of his businesses has he actually done this? I think there are far too many people - not only from the gutter press - trying to read tea leaves... all of them

  13. Time will tell, If I could tell you his name it would add a lot more credibility to the story but I'm afraid I can't. Something`s up, that`s for sure. London Mike does not seem happy and him wanting a London is not that bizarre. Today Liverpool have been linked with both Milner and Zog.................who would you guys rather see leave? neither , kind of go's against the new transfer policy doesnt it , sell our two brightest youngest players who have broken the first team . in a swap deal for old players with high wage demands . as for ashley , ive backed him in the past , but looking at his other companys , he doesnt exactly push them on to the next level does he , sports direct still persist with their monthly closing down sales , and dunlop donnay karrimor and kangol have hardly hit new heights under his tenure .
  14. From the Championship to 3rd in the Premier League? An array of fantastic finishes. Being the best team in the Premier League at one point Nearly Winning it Champions League Football UEFA Cup football (semi final and quarter) 2 F.A Cup Finals A ground full of 52K fans Establishing the football club in the modern era Housing the some of the greatest players the league has ever seen Housing the top goal scorer in the league Yeh not a fucking thing! interesting, I wonder how many other people that thought the grass would be greener ......... This is the shite I've always sensed was waiting to come out At least now its confirmed - if true - and we can get on with the job of heading for real mediocrity and being a feeder club for the ambitious clubs again. I'm clinging to the fact that this is an exaggeration or not totally true on the basis that Keegan hasn't pissed off. Well I would hate to be part of a feeder club. Football is sometimes devoid of logic, I not sure if there is anything worse the total Premier league deadlock, finishing 10th every season and watching all our players float up to the top four while a billionaire gets richer. However i think this will not be the case, Keegan and Wise will bring in different types of players and hopefully the parallels will compliment each other and it will be a success. it would appear - reading into comments - that Keegan doesn't plan to stay past the end of his contract, when he will be 60. That gives him 3 years, until the time we'll have to replace him again. What happened last time ie unfulfilled promise for someone to mess up ....... Keegan can deliver what we want but if they don't back him, the chance could be lost, again. ehh , he's implied the exact opposite in recent days , saying he will still be only 60 at the end of these 3 year . what comments you reading into like ???
  15. sure i read somewhere faye was suspended from yellows , that not right ?
  16. no chance owen will take a reduced wage , why would he ? 80kpw wage cap , and thats what they are talking about offering oba , its all backwards .
  17. i think the budgets spilt tbh , kev's got a bit and wise has a bit . modric was an age thing why we went in so heavily i reckon , woodgate cos we looked desperate .
  18. buying youngsters is all well and good , but your first team needs tobe in a good condition first of all . all these myths about wenger do us no good either , its only the past 5 year that he's been bringing the youth in as much as he has , past 3 year is when he has been working them in more than ever (funny no trophys ehh) . pre cesc he was forking out 10mills for henrys ect .
  19. aye wound me up those bit like , shoving shearers 15mill in our face like it wasnt worth every penny spent aswell , and failing to mention the difference between us and arsenal in spending since the prem started is about the same amount of cash that souness spent
  20. http://blogs.notw.co.uk/sport/2008/05/ashley-message.html i remember flogging beardsley and gazza and twaddle , dont want togo back to that . also owens agents poped a story in there aswell , nice timing i think, certainly earning his 10% . and our little club that nobody wants to talk aboout
  21. The debt we all knew about. We all knew we were somewhere between 60-70 million in the red but £100 million was too much. Why do you think every other consortium couldn't get out of the city quick enough after conducting due dilligence. I've nee idea what you're going on about when you talk about the debt rising. We're debt free now and have been for months, Mort has said as much. There is nothing to say we aren't going to spend about from a few shite articles. Chin up. ive no idea about the 1mill debt rising either , just asking snake what he was on about . so there was 30mill worth off debt that caught him offguard ? he bought the club for 134m , spent 100m on debt . so he got the toon for 234 ? and the clubs income this year was 100mill ?
  22. right , so what debt did he know about when buying the club ? where is the 'hidden debt' debt from , and how is it rising by 1 mill per month if he payed it off ? i know he found we have got some future payments already spent , but to use this debt as a reason we are not spending like spurs seem to want to , surely we should be given an idea of where its from ? this is what i dont like about privately owned clubs and no i didnt mean sell players , just that the money is there still, i buy a house for 100k , as much as i might owe 100k out ive still got the money in the house plus more if its value go's up .
  23. Are you questioning whether it's true, questioning whether it should impact the level of investment, or just plain annoyed that it's been mentioned more than once? all three actually , im pretty sure we were told 80 mill at first , then they stuck the transfer fee's from last season on it and started throwing around the 100mill number as how much had been invested , now thats just purely debt apparently so yeah im not sure if its true . you dont buy clubs and 100 mill debt pops up out of nowhere aswell . should it impact investment ? its being used as a reason for lack of it , but is it our problem that the club was bought and the new owner supposedly found this debt ? whats the debt for aswell , is it debt owed out in the future ? or debt we have now ,as ive heard stories that some of its for players transfer fee's thats still due ect , (only forked out 4 mill so far for oba ) if thats the case the money is in the player and nothing is lost , sell the player and get money back plus some of the debt .
  24. For modric we offered 6.2 mill per season for 3 year . that 20 mill budget could turn out tobe true , as in there is 20 million there that can be spent this summer, but you can take deals over a number of years . anyone else sick of this 100mill (gets bigger every week!) that is being held over our heads as a reason for lack of major investment ? any chance mort gets thats all we here from him , ashleys spent 250mill , 100mill debt we didnt know about ! ,yeah right .
