  1. it would be a risk , so therefor not worth it . even if he came good there are better buys out there will less chance of them crying about the weather . get some eastern europeans in who have lived thru some siberian winters ! they will be fine with the toon on a wet winters day , just give em a shot of vodka in place of the halftime orange .
  2. It's a positive spin, and I'm as confident as he is. But there's the nagging reminder in my mind that Keegan took less of the points he had to play for than Allardyce did. Until he's brought in some quality, it's all based on blind faith. failing to remember the fixture list of the time puts a posotive light on allerdyces time in control and a negative spin on keegans , untill you realise that allerdyce was fucked well before xmas . i remember the day the fixture list came out thinking my god how easy is that run upto xmas , only for allerdyce to lose all of the games i had us down as winning . we were up shit creek wello before keegan walked in the door , then the poor bugger had to contend with manu pool arsenal and villa. yeah im not to keen on this whole allerdyce got more points than keegan , its spin and bullshit of the highest order , without all the facts taken into account . keegan dropped points at arsenal liverpool and manu , great !! , allerdyce did with derby and everyone else ffs!!
  3. said that well before euro 2008 started . but after the england game when he knocked one past us .
  4. what leg have we to stand on when its being reported that the likes of adebayor and robinho earn around 35-45kpw ? , the list go's on . we do need lots of new players , our wage budget has been to high . still blame mort and allerdyce for that like , they did stick millions on last year by bringing in 9 players on more wages here than they could dream of anywhere else .
  5. nice one , had a few quid on ince . good appointment imo , very rare you get players like ince go down divisions to prove their worth as managers , shearer could learn a thing or two from ince .
  6. we will never be top 4 contenders unless we can hold onto them , we will never hold onto them unless we are top 4 contenders . so they sell for a nice profit , great , we go buy more youngsters to sell for nice profits then i guess ?
  7. probably waiting on a statement of intent from newcastle like the rest of us , hardly gonna wanna stick around next season if we dont bring in better than we have sent out .
  8. aye been magic at times , great control on the ball and eye for a pass , ill echo the leftback talk aswell , seems handy .
  9. There has been far to many mixed messages from both sides to even get an idea of where we are heading . im of the belief that keegans 'add two or three quality players to set the place alight' , was exactly what he had intended , and all the talk of ashley could be the best owner in the world , was keegan looking for a gung-ho approach . at the same time im not sure he had an idea of the extent of the wage budget , which imo was really fucked up last summer with allerdyce and mort . so you would now think some comprimise has been set , and if it is all about value for money , you cant help think that an overhaul is underway , if the likes of duff , shola , emre are being moved on , surely geremi, viduka, smith should be following them . after that we are really left with a bare bone squad . as long as keegan is there im not to worried , cant see him not having a pull around newcastle tbh , so im pretty sure he's gonna be able to work within whatever boundaries have been set , when you consider the likes of robinho at real madrid is on 40kpw and many other examples like him in the premiership, it kinda puts our old wage spending into light . as long as keegan is allowed to persue his own targets this summer and wise sticks to the academy , and ashley backs keegan ( which i think he will if its a good investment) , then i cant see any reason we could push for europe again , once this clubs rolling were off ! and keegan of all people knows how to get it rolling , once he's got his squad settled , he will start winding the fan's up and we'll be off !!! i think ashley is gonna be alright , and he will put his hand in his pocket , but only if he's comfortable with it , with the wage trimmed he's got no reason not to, unless he really is flogging us on .
  10. maybe in with a chances for gomez !! nobodys gonna put a bid in for him after he's played like shiite all tournament !! still a great player, but he's been shocking .
  11. ive been told oba's asked for a better deal aswell , which will be refused and he will be sold . also been told owen's not gonna entertain the idea of a paycut . lads who said this gave me the allerdyce news well before it was out there .
  12. Zltan will frustrate jose to hell , not his kind of player , i think he will move him on tbh .
  13. telling ya , gomis has the control of martins on a bad day . someone nailed it with the 'fat shola' remark .
  14. Mcgregor has fucking Willie Mckay for an agent , couldnt care if he had ronaldo on his books i still wouldnt deal with him , he's been far to cosy with this club, made a mint from us and gave us some of his shittest clients . as for selling shay and spending double the transfer money to replace him , doesnt float my boat .
  15. the optimist im me thinks keegans got him closer so its easier to get money out of him . the pessimist , he's here to babysit .
  16. papalazarou ? bolton have a good scouting network, designed to grab players early just like us , if anything they are punching above their weight rather than us below ours.
  17. Apparently not completed yet - whether that is true or paper talk though. nah he'd not even aggred personal terms even before his latest hamstring .
  18. bah , there go's my money on hiddink . but in comes my money on the hughes and sven lay ! didnt see scolari comming tbh , cant speak a word of english and been out of club footy for a while .
  19. brilliant , something makes me feel like keegans played the media and the board and got his own way here like he's got mike as close to him, the club and major descisions, as he could .
  20. didnt one of the reports say deal only on if he didnt get injured ?
  21. well gomis was shocking for me, falling over the ball , control was worse than anything martins ever does ! reminds me alot of kenwyn jones .
  22. Would be an excellent signing, but I can't see it happening. Said in an interview today that he is interested in a move, but only to a European top club. http://www.spox.com/de/sport/fussball/em20...-der-vaart.html (last sentence.) yup, cant see it happening , but how many top clubs are going to have cash and space left for all these major players moving on this summer , dont think we have had a summer like it where as many big players look tobe changing clubs , hopefully the likes of VdV and diego dont have as many options by the time the big clubs are done . may aswell stick a bid in for kompany from mighty mouses old club aswell i reckon ! and hope they still have pics of kev up around the stadium
  23. he's like a stronger martins imo , got that control that can drive you mad , looks amazing or shocking depending on the colour of his socks . nice to see we are making moves . reports in holland were after van der vaart , think id cream if we pulled that one off .
  24. i reckon beye might have give him a run for his money when he was in his prime!! , not that i saw beye in his prime like but the guys shit hot now ! alves is like berbatov and those other players that remind you your a stepping stone every interview they give , hopefully he willl be happy at barca ,he's shit hot up and down that wing ill give him that .
