  1. What is the Golden Gloves though? Can't believe the cluelessness on here ... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/liv...89520-20418895/ (not aimed at you ... you appear to have some savvy on your side). You mean just for the PL. Thought it would be some cooked up Uefa/fifa thing plus free nosh and booze for malingering hacks. Totally clueless. Kewell. As I said .... Btw wasn't Agger loaned out cause he was so dippy? Or was that year before last? Might be wrong. No 'might' about it ... surprise, surprise, ... you're completely wrong again! Go to night school.
  2. What inspired such depth ... the worry that all three will finish above you next season ?

  4. I'm not the one who doesn't know what it is thought, am I? I guess one's keeper has to win it to highlight it. Why didn't you just answer the question instead of looking it up then? Does it really matter? ... I wanted to back up what I had said. I know; strange behaviour on here.

  6. That's actually not a bad call ... they'd be silly enough to fork out for him as well.

I've honestly never heard of that. Not being funny either but that doesn't make him 'tier 1' (although I concede I'm sketchy about what that is exactly) because it's 'only' clean sheets. It's a good achievement for a keeper though, definitely. Are you suggesting he's only a second rate keeper then?

  10. He only made his debut on the 21 of January so it's little surprise really.
  11. Mascherano, Alonso, Renia, Agger, Babel, Kewell, Morientes, Anelka (albeit on loan). I'd say a tier 1 player should be a pivitol player in both their league and international teams. I'd agree that a couple of those are. But then a couple of Newcastles have been too. Then I would have to add Skrtl. And any body who thinks Renia is 'debatable' is an idiot. You don't win the golden gloves three years running for being second tier.
  12. Mascherano, Alonso, Renia, Agger, Babel, Kewell, Morientes, Anelka (albeit on loan). Class player ... just injury prone. Was a 'tier one' at the time of purchase. He's still better than Duff ... hell even I'm better than Duff. Howay man. He was arguably a tier one player a fair while before you bought him. His pace was already shot at the time of purchase. Some of the other players are debatable btw, but Kewell stands out in that list. Interestingly Duff revealed he turned you lot down. Dodged a bullet there. May have dodged a bullet (and missed out on a CL medal) ........... but he really ran straight into a stone wall.
  13. Do you truly believe that your squad is strong enough to mount a sustained challenge to the premiership this season? You've got a good team, no doubt, but Hyppia is too old, Carragher and Agger are quality, but they're not in the same class as the pairing of Ferdinand and Vidic imo I reckon you'll be the buffer between the teams scrapping for the title and the teams scrapping for the last CL spot. I reckon you're wrong ... again.

  15. If only we'd realised earlier that that was all it would take. ... if only indeed
  16. Owen was leaving toon the day he joined.

  18. Aye, assuming they are putting in a wage structure (and it's still hard to say as there's nothing really definite either way), it's bound to be painful and effect recruitment and therefore Premiership achievement for a season at least (maybe quite a few more). The worrying thing is that although some of FFS dealing were silly, at the same time we'll always be paying more all things being equal, which is being made worse by the money other clubs are throwing around now. Newcastle with a wage structure is like a dead shark. Huh? Going nowhere? Just don't get why having some structure is such a bad thing. Structures are fine, but they have to be flexible or we'll have to rule out all tier one players for the near future. When was the last time you bought one of those? ... Shearer? How many times have Liverpool spent more than Newcastle did for Shearer or Owen? Genuine question. Just the one springs to mind. The question is not how much was spent ... the question is ... were they tier one or not?

  22. Quite possibly the daftest rubbish I've read in ages. Congrats! Do you care to actually try to counter anything I posted? I've noticed that to be one of your critical failings. You disagree with any criticism but you can never say why. Simple. Because it`s rubbish. Why would anybody counter such trash. Can you give any definitive evidence that: Benitez has mounted a serious title challenge; Liverpool shouldn't be pushing for higher than 4th; Liverpool don't rely on one or two key players (Gerrard, Torres) while the others are perhaps not title quality? I'm afraid "it`s rubbish" isn't a defence. Silence gives consent. If you can't answer the allegations, I guess you think they're true after all? 'Silence gives consent ' is the kind of logic one would expect a child abuser to use; it in no way validates your point. Team always rely on key players ... hardly rocket science. Rafa has taken us to 3 CL semi finals in 4 years, has assembled a good strong squad with lots of quality despite taking over the shambles Houllier left behind (with modest financial support). It needs a little tweeking and one or two additions (keane and Barry) and we're off. You've made a fool of yourself.
  23. Bang on mate, one of the side effects of the champions league is we now celebrate failure. What would a spurs fan know about CL football ...
  24. It all depends. If expectation is low and the team does well early on, the 'messiah' euphoria will spread and he'll stay. Were I a betting man I'd say he'll have scampered by the end of the season. I wish him well.
