  1. Fletcher released by the Mackems. Reckon he could do a job in the championship like, decent target man. We'll need another in that mould as Mitro will no doubt rack up a few suspensions (if he stays). Controversial I know but him on a free or McCormack who's the same age for £9M+...
  2. Not sure if this is the correct thread so please feel free to relocate it if necessary. Those of a certain age will appreciate the effort here! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-24992646

  4. Strips worn at Harpers testimonial are available if anyone wants an alternative to the Wonga top... http://sh-testimonial.sondicoprofessional.com/
  5. http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/sport/soccer/pitchinvading-brazilian-physio-runs-for-his-life-after-dramatic-doublesave-20130911-2tkit.html couldn't see this posted already so enjoy.
  6. http://metro.co.uk/2013/09/05/kolo-toure-offers-to-change-his-name-for-liverpool-fan-who-got-wrong-tattoo-3952175/ What a pillock - shit tattoo to start with as well.
  7. The World's End - not as good as either Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz but if you like Pegg/Frost et al then you'll probably enjoy it. 6.5/10
  8. http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/ryan-gosling-wont-eat-his-cereal-is-basically-the-best-thing
  9. Star Trek - not as fond as Holden above. Didn't like the first one, this is better but it's not really my bag, give me Shatner over this any day. It's still a decent film though.
  10. Evil Dead (remake) - gory and ultimately disappointing. More predictable than the SPL
  11. Off to see the Evil Dead remake tonight. Fairly sure it'll be toss, the missus is terrified already and would rather see Iron Man 3 but the cinema will be full of twunts so that's not happening this close to release date. Will report back on Monday. Ajax Andy - the lass in Killer Joe is Juno Temple.
  12. Trance - entertaining enough, would have been better if I hadn't heard an interview with Danny Boyle where he pretty much gave away the ending. Rosario Dawson gets naked. Dark Skies - basically Paranormal Activity meets X-Files. Nothing new to see here and nothing you haven't seen better elsewhere. Spring Breakers - absolute total and utter shit. A music video idea dragged out for two hours with added teen angst. May appeal to the Skins crowd but I hated it (as I do Skins)
  13. Agreed. Used to be the case when people moaned if you started a thread and there was already one from umpteen years back about the same/similar topic. So this seems like a good idea.
  14. If you haven't seen the TV mini-series CT, get it watched, absolutely fantastic and a million times better than the below-par film version.
  15. Gangster Squad - if you don't take it too seriously and realise it's borderline comic-book material it's enjoyable. If you're expecting Goodfellas you're gonna be disappointed
  16. Lincoln - can't fault the craft (cinematography/costume/production design) or the performances, (Day-Lewis & Lee Jones deserve oscars) but if like me you have zero interest in politics and even less in the history of American politics it's exceptionally hard work. If you're into that stuff you'll probably love it as it isn't a bad film, just a niche subject matter.
  17. Jack Reacher - haven't read the book so couldn't give a toss as to whether Cruise is or isn't big enough for the role. Actually quite enjoyed it but I get a sense I may be in the minority... The Hobbit - was ok, just about fell asleep at one point where it was dragging like an elephantitisised scrotum and it did look like I was watching sky sports with the higher frame rate, but otherwise enjoyable enough.
  18. Silver Linings Playbook - quite entertaining but the most predictable and cliche ridden story you've seen since the last 20 identikit rom-coms you sat through. Jennifer Lawrence is good in it and DeNiro isn't as unbearable as he has been of late. Take the lady along rather than the lads though.
  19. Saw Argo last weekend - very very good in my opinion. Watched it with an Iranian who was impressed with it's accuracy even if they did go for a hollywood ending...
  20. Skyfall - I liked it, does what you expect from a Bond film but to a high standard - further confirmed by watching View To A Kill last night as well!
  21. First cinema trip in ages so I'm a bit behind... Looper - it's good but everyone I know seems to think it's the most amazing thing ever - which it isn't. Basically Terminator with a couple of extra twists. Ruby Sparks - enjoyable. If you're into those quirky American indie films then it'll be right up your street.
  22. I'm off to the athletics on Wednesday night, cannot wait!
