Baby.....Ruth?

I think quite a few people had the same thought when we signed Barton and he has done well to prove the doubters wrong (admittedly it took him some time) I'll give Ireland a chance before I write him off (assuming he comes that is). If memory serves they were quite pally at City and he may benefit from Bartons 'wise' head?

He's boring.

At 92 minutes on Sunday, half of them wanted him gone. And at 94 they were proclaiming him a God As he danced down the touchline like he'd just been told he had won first place in a Claire Balding lookalike contest Not forgetting Joe Bugner Balding + Bugner = Bruce. There is a likeness I think. tbh Is that not potentially the ugliest 3-some in the history of the world?? Does 3 blokes count as a 3some? I'd be surprised if Balding didn't have a cock tbh...

He's still a cunt though, right Stevie? Don't let me down man, I know I can rely on you to put this gobshite in his place... right? fwiw, I think Man U are going to kick on, Chelsea are going to stumble and falter but have too much about them to end up outside the top 4 (A big factor is that they've still got that much vaunted "winning mentality" which is one of the reasons I think the promoted sides have done comparatively well this season). The other two spots will be Man City and Arsenal. I reckon Spurs will finish 5th. Especially given the calibre of sides around them; Bolton, Stoke, the mackems and us? Don't get me wrong, Bolton and Stoke aren't the archetypal long-ball sides they've been famous for in the past. I just don't think they've the quality to mount a prolonged assault on that position. Spurs have spent £227m in the past 5 years and they're yet to really challenge for the title. Compare that to their neighbours down the road... Arsenal have spent less money, and have had more seasons where they've been genuinely contending for the league... Mind you, like Arsenal, I think Spurs keep strengthening in the wrong areas. As has been said elsewhere, they need to buy an Essien, Mascherano-style player. Someone who would permit their flair players to do as they will in the opposition half, but time and again they trot off to spend millions on someone who's good on the ball and can dribble a bit. I also don't rate their back four that highly: Hutton isn't good enough for a team who wants to be taken seriously, BAE is all right, but nothing great. I like Bassong, and don't really blame him for leaving, especially as we got decent money for him. They do, however, need a dominant centre half. (I can't remember, but did Kjaer recently sign with someone? If not he'd be a decent shout). their fans are still pricks though. Assou Ekotto or whatever he's called would struggle to get a game for West Ham imho

every fucker is linked with Spuds these days. Every time I look at the transfer gossip they are linked with a dozen players! Greedy twats.

I agree he was the kind of guy to mug people off for as much as he could. I don't think he's the same guy and I think he holds us in far higher regard now, than he did then. We proved through our patience and support we're better than your avergae fan. Why give him the benefit of the doubt? This is like getting with a lass who's vagina has been an open reservoir, home to every carbon-based life-form on the planet, and she says to you, batting her eyelids, 'Ooh I've changed, you can trust me.' Then you go out to get some groceries, come home and she's getting spit-roasted by the plumber and the milkman. A leopard doesn't change its spots. The same is true of Barton. Does he have the same agent? That is the real question. If you look at his agent and see his track record in negotiations you will get a truer picture of how Barton will handle his contract talks. I believe Willie McKay is his agent...

Pienaar bid from an 'un-named club' been accepted by the blue dippers. Although I don't believe for one minute it will be us he would be a canny signing! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ton/9362164.stm

Was managed by Houllier at Lyon.

Not really any better than Best tbf so seems a waste of time. Would rather chuck Xisco in for a couple of games and see how he does...

Cinema going this year so far... The Way Back - Alreet but the whole timescale of the journey felt disjointed to me and it drags a bit. Monsters - I liked it, didn't try to be just like Distict 9, special effects were quite weak but then again it was low budget and there aren't that many effects shots in it. The Next 3 Days - Enjoyable, did the trick on a sunday afternoon and wasn't as cliched as cliched as I was expecting. Season Of The Witch - Cackfest. Wasn't actually too horrendous till the shit CG in the final 3rd then it was laughable. 127 Hours - Enjoyable and the tone was well judged, could very easily have been hellish boring. -
Good news, looked decent when I've seen him play (Chelsea & Arsenal in League Cup in particular - even though we got dicked by the gunners, he was a highlight) Now give the lad a few runs out - can't do any worse in the middle of the park than Smudger surely (and less of a red card liability)...?
