Shame. He could have done a job here. Can't understand why he would want to go there of all places though??

I spent 4 days with Bam Margera from Jackass (tight bastard wouldn't buy a round) and Tony Hawk (nice guy but fucking dull)
-
I had a 20 min conversation and a pint with David Mitchell one night and once stood and had a brief chat with Ricky Gervais in the street without actually realising it was him till I turned around and saw someone else had stopped him and did the David Brent dance in the street! Both thoroughly nice blokes.

Three Police Injured In Student Clashes

I would definitely not be going to Uni if I had to pay the new fees, I've got more than enough debt from when the fees were lower! I can't even contemplate how much worse it will be for people wanting to go now. -
Who feels passionately enough about this to jack it next season?
angrysteve replied to a topic in Newcastle Forum
I only make it to 3 or 4 home games a season (I live in london) but go to as many away games as possible. Signed up for the membership this season which I won't be doing again as so far it has amounted to me paying £20 for a canny crap keyring and still couldn't get me tickets for Arsenal... -
I'd love to meet him...just so I could smack the long haired pillock.

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
angrysteve replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
"The current situation is not the fault of the players, and they will be supported from the stands providing that they give the effort required when you wear that famous shirt. However, Newcastle fans are never going to get behind the current regime, because they have seen too much evidence of things they don't like." Nail on head. Tomorrow I hope to join in plenty of pro-Hughton, pro-team and anti-Ashley chants. And if anyone's on the back row of the East stand, how about bringing along a flag and hanging it over the last two letters of the new Sports Direct hoardings? Same goes for anywhere else in the ground near SD branding for that matter. Will we see any sort of pro-Hughton goal celebrations from the players (if we score obviously) - I mean T-shirts under the strip etc???- 10610 replies

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
angrysteve replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
Yes. Simple question for you. As you thinks he's not, tell me in footballing terms why Hughtons better. Never been relegated from premiership, never shagged a players wife (or at least never been caught) never turned up drunk for training. never been sacked by a Division 1 club. Has beaten Sunderland 5-1 and Villa 6-0 in the same season Has beaten Arsenal away. Now show me the proof that Pardew is better. Tbf you know exactly my point and rather than give it serious argument you throw tripe like that up. (Your choice though) The gang of four were probably responsible for last season and I would guess that Chris just carried on coaching with a few media duties thrown in as well. I dont see any evidence of anything different. all during last season and pre season, the conversations on here were that he was not good enough for the prem and that he would be gone by Christmas. Even this season we have discussed how he perseveres with players when everyone else can see its not working. He hasnt appeared to show hes a great tactician. Or that he makes good use of substitutions to change a game. Or that he's a brilliant man motivator. In hindsight in appears that he has also just been a yes man. Do I think Pardew will do any of the above better, probably. Its quite suprising how so few on here cant seem to rest their emotions to one side, sit back and think about things in reality. Parky can do it (but knows not to go too far ), Chez does it very well and even Happy Face talks sense. The Hystrionic brigade though.....Dear me. I reckon the solidarity in the side throughout last season after relegation and into this season speaks volumes of his ability to pick the players up. You've heard from Chris and the gang of four that it was them who held a no holds barred meeting after the Aldershot game and put the do or die togetherness in place. Nolan even said it was him that ran the dressing room. Short memories. it was Orient like pal...- 10610 replies

Who do you want as the next manager of NUFC?
angrysteve replied to Anorthernsoul's topic in Newcastle Forum
Didn't MON spit the dummy and leave Villa because the board wouldn't back him? If so can't see him bending over for Ashley to arse rape him here... Still rather have him than any of those other fuckers mind, unless Jol fancies another shot in the prem like! -
This.

Second game in a row that we've named 3 (sub standard) strikers on the bench and the only midfielder on there was Smith - who 90% of us will agree is past it/a liability. What exactly does Vukic have to do to get a look in?? even though we got dicked on in the cup game vs Arsenal he still looked decent and there's no way he can be any worse than Guthrie was yesterday...

Trust me, I've had it before and it's fookin gorgeous. to be honest Lamb is the best meat in most curries. anyway, shut the fuck up Samuel, you idea of culinary experimentation is whatever the Greggs seasonal pasty variation is. Amen!

London Boulevard - disappointing. -
Nowt really to do with this but... I went on holiday with a few of the lads about 10 years ago now. When they unloaded the bags off the coach the sniffer dogs started going nuts for one of the lads bags, next thing we know he's been lifted by the cops - now this guy was the least likely person to be having drugs on him, and not exactly an astro-physicist either. Anyhow about 2 hours later he shows back up at the chalets after they searched his bag found nothing suspicious and released him....turns out he'd packed a couple of pounds of bacon for his breakfast and the dogs were just fucking hungry!

I didn't say the director shouldn't have the final word, I agree they should but in all seriousness that generally resides with the exec as they have funded the thing in the first place. Auteur theory in this day and age can only really apply to the real indie directors or those who have so much clout they can do whatever they want. I should have probably phrased it more along the lines that many editors would take massive umbridge at being considered to be an 'operator' rather than someone who has a creative input. Look at Scalia and Schoonmaker, they work with some of the highest profile directors in the world BUT they are still encouraged to creatively interpret the footage - that's not to say the director may hate it and get them to do it again differently though. Surely we are both actually making the same point here anyway?? Advertising is completely different, you're right, 8 times out of 10 the director is supplied with boards by the agency and as they are considered to be the creatives they want it done exactly that way. That's why most commercials directors also do music videos because it's a rare occasion for them to be more creative - they are however much more poorly paid than commercials. -

Not necessarily mate, I work in films and I know plenty of directors who actively want the editor to be creative and to have an input. There are obviously those who want it done exactly to their specifications but it is by no means the 'only done thing'. -
hmm.. i think its too risky. I dont think its as simple as saying those who have some pace will be good at running off the last defender. You need to be able to read the game, make those runs. Plus he would provide nothing else as a forward, no hold up play(as he has no strength), no link up play and certainly no aerial threat. Could argue that the pre-Real Madrid Michael Owen lacked in these departments too, although he did have natural finishing ability. Was just thinking of a possible solution as people have identified we lack that type of player and it's probably a safe bet that Ashley isn't gonna splash much (if any) money come Jan. Ban Arfa is obviously out for the best part of the season, Lovenkrands looks off the boil and Ranger despite his fantastic pace looks like he cant finish. Having said that we seem to be coping with what we have, fingers crossed we don't pick up injuries.

Wondering what people think of trying to convert Routledge into one of those off the shoulder pace-merchant strikers. For me he's fairly inconsistent out wide, a bit light weight, often lacks decent delivery and goes missing in games from time to time... but he has got pace to burn, decent skill and showed last season he is capable of the odd tidy finish. Anyone think it would be worth trying to use him as an impact sub playing just off a target man (of which we have plenty) in a Walcott/Ashley Young type position where he's be up against slower (but admittedly stronger) defenders? Just a thought...
