Apologies, I read the words "4 to 5 years", not 6 months. 107525 well if we are going to be picky i said 4-5 seasons. granted my choice of phrases wasnt best, i should have said those players didnt make a real impact in their first 6 months, which is what we are talking about with ramage. however, terry and schevchenko did do very little for the first few seasons. To steer the argument away from those players lets mention frank lampard instead? Look at his first season at west ham compared to last seasons performances?!

Piped up? Its a fucking discussion board! Not once have i stated what i say is correct in fact i have continually stated it is only my opinion, but that is something i`m entitled to have wether you disagree with it or not. Jesus fucking wept! 107478 whoooo

had to read that about 5 times before i got it!

My nanna died almost 12 months ago and my dad had the unfortunate task of emptying her house, taking clothes to the charity shop ,cancelling bills etc.etc. Anyway, he cancelled her sky subscription and just got a phone call tonight asking if hed like to reconsider. He told them no, because his mam had passed away, to which they replied ''we can do you a special offer.'' My dad said no, seriously, why would i need sky now, to which they replied ''well why dont we give you 2 weeks to think about it '' to which he replied, my fucking mothers dead, which part of that dont you understand hes pretty upest seeing as how its almost the 1 year anniversary. Fcuking insensitive twats. I think a pretty nasty complaint will be following soon.

I know, and I agreed with the sentiment in the first post. Then Scottish Mag piped up saying if he was good enough hed have shown it by now. This is a lad who comes from the area, has played a lot of games games for us, has won plaudits across football, was the subject of interest from arsenal etc., always gives 100percent and he makes one mistake and people are writing him off! It just fucks me right off. Stevie Taylor on the other hand is the next stam/nesta/adams all rolled into one, and hel get better with age apparently!

TBH Luque should give us a fairly big edge over spurs if we were going to sign torres. Id have him here in a flash but dont fancy our chances

football hooliganism is the most pointless shitty pastime. Most of them are too fat to play football, have no idea about whats actually going on on the pitch and would shit it if they had to actually have fight without 20 mates behind them. when i went to the barca away match a few years back we were sat outside a bar when some spanish loon started lobbing glass bottles off his balcony at us!

apart from beckham, which pretty much fucked up their whole midfield

my point is . . . . . alot of people on here have written ramage off already after 6months as not good enough. I said henry, shearer, nistelrooy, terry, schevcenko did very little in their first 6 months and look how good they turned out to be so lets give the lad a chance and then you decided to swerve round my point and say my examples were the worst possible ones which had nowt to do with the topic at hand and thats how we ended up here. My starting point is still valid, ramage will serve us well for a long while and will only improve over time. not many players come straight into the first team and hold down a place for 6 months, especially ones who arent good enough.

his lass is mates with a lass at work and she doesnt miss a trick when dropping his name into the converstaion. Im sure she said he had a BMW or something?
-
hes not good enough according to you. and the facts are ' terry, schevchencko and nistlerooy did very little in their first season' i suppose tony adams would have made the breakthrough long before 22 if he was going to be good enough? 106417 Fact? Van Nistelrooy scored 13 goals in 30 games in his first season in top flight football in Holland. ramage has made 1 major mistake in his first season in top flight football Shevchenko won the Ukranian footballer of the year in his second full season. when your only rival is rebrov thats not hard John Terry won the Young Player of the year award in his first season. (Chelsea's, not the FA's) So did Jenas and he shite as well apparently Argue for the sake of it if you want, but at least know some facts before attempting debate; otherwise you look stupid. 106666 bovvered

Henry played for Monaco before Juventus ffs. 106448 yep, and 20 goals in 110 games proves my point 106593 Hardly. It's not a terrible return for a young left winger. 106607 except he was mainly a striker at monaco and became a winger at juve.
-
none of our business what he spends his money on tbh
-
they get as many non-entities as they can find to try and be characters on that show. And i include Noel Edmunds in that.

The only person who technically struggled in his first couple of seasons was Henry. All of the others looked like stars in their first year. I don't see why you chose those people, that's all. I personally feel what you've done is chosen some of the older stars who you perhaps hadn't heard of when they first started playing. Anyway, when you say top flight, do you mean in other countries? Because ALL of the players you listed succeeded in their first season in their own country. 106393 what do you mean by succeeded? ramage often gets acclaim for his performances in his first season in the premier league, across the media on both tv, in the papers, by other managers etc. yet his own fans have branded him as shite already? Terry, schevchenko and nistlerooy did not look like 'stars' in their first year. No more so than ramage anyway. Feel free to disagree for the sake of it but it doesnt change the facts
-
in his first season at juventus I think not. Be pendantic if you like and pick apart my examples but the fact remains, hes played first tem football less than 6months and never really let us down. 1 mistake and we are ready to axe him
-
and steven taylor? gave a goal away in his very first game. Hasnt set the league alight? should we flog him now in case he becomes another andy obrien? hes played more games than ramage so surely hes another one who isnt going to make it?
-
bollocks, chris waddle was playing at tow law right about now this time in his career. hes had 6months playing and 1 bad game, are we not being a bit OTT? And im not talking about what age players are when they get a game in the premier league, im talking about how long they play in the league for before they make a big impact. Gary Neville had a few years behind him at 22 and he wasnt anywhere near as good a RB as he is now.
-
yeah cos bramble, boumsong and babyaro have been in storming form! and gol, which examples would you have used? I picked some of the worlds best players today, none of whom did fantastically in their first couple of seasons. Argue for the sake of it if you want but the fact of the matter remains, we dont give players enough time these days.
