  1. The idea that people on NO are all anti-keegan is patently shite. Having more younger, newer and foreign fans changes the breadth of opinion on NO but in terms of numbers of supporters of Keegan throughout (even when none of the facts were known), there was no difference to on here. Thats absolute numbers not relative. If you want my defintion of muppetry, that would be the idea that anyone other than Shepherd would have been better. Neither forum was right about that. There was some wavering opinion around the time he walked out before anyone knew what had gone on but surely most Newcastle fans now realise how easy it is to be spectacularly wrong on certain 'controversial' issues.

  3. We were like a hurt animal after that defeat at Derby.
  4. Utterly sad considering the tickets were 45 bastard quid.
  5. We played Chelsea just after a load of stuff about Cole came out and there were 3 gooners in the away end in front of us who had come specifically to abuse Cole. They were singing that '3 men went to bed, went to bed with Ashley' song and it was getting right on my tits (quite funny though tbf). I said a few things but not exactly loud enough for them to start on me or anything. The massive radgie next to us eventually screamed at them to shut the fuck up as nae one gave a fucking shite about Ashley fucking Cole. Sums up the situation for me. I'd agree with Girafidae, think he is one of the best left-backs in the world, will be a big miss if he doesnt make it for the WC.
  6. You were one the principle whingers on NO about Leazes, yet all you do is come on here to try and wind him up. Cant have it both ways. I like baiting him because he always bites, doesn't mean I can't be glad to have his boring repetitve shite off N-O. Right, ok... still failing to see the difference.

  8. I'm heading into town on sunday to leave a 'One Tequila, Two Tequila, Three Tequila...Floor!' t-shirt on a park bench in Elswick Park in memory.
  9. How can you let personal feeling get in the way of your desire to see England win the world cup? What exactly did Cole do wrong again? Complained about being offered 50k, i remember that. Stuck a moblile phone up his arse? I know he's not popular but i'd have thought most could rise above the pantomines in the press. Fucking great footballer.
  10. They are very good at home. W7 D6 L2 F13 A8 Not unbeatable though, we have the bounce back factor and they may see us in a more complacent light due to the previous result.
  11. Does that include the benefits to industry or just from a state viewpoint? Direct costs and benefits, not indirect. Therefore, the advantage to UK export trade from the free flow of goods and capital is not included. The CAP is one thing that can get me right on my high horse with the frogs, they love to bait us with it too. Blair was meant to secure the re-negotiation of CAP in 2012 (iirc) on the basis that we would forego the rebate that Thatcher got us. Unlikely to happen imo. Fucking lazy arrogant french cunting farmers [missing stevie].
  12. Unionsts everywhere are trying to deflect the need for their members to take cuts since the crisis is not of their making. No, true but 50 years of near continous economic growth (give or take the odd bump) which created the vastly over-funded, under-efficient public systems in southern Europe wasnt their making either.
  13. Indeed. Good luck Kevin, good to see a young un getting off his arse and trying to get some work.

  15. I have never started a match thread before. I believe we will bounce back and take points.
  16. Why the death of Pompey is good news for Newcastle United Not directly but the main impact of them going into 'liquidation' will be to further increase the credit risk assigned to football clubs by lenders. This will make finance more expensive and less available. Teams with small fanbases which move between the leagues (the yo-yos) and those with a risk of dropping down, will have to invest very carefully when they do go up or their situation changes. We will be affected the same but because of our higher operating revenues and fanbase, we will have more capacity to invest and a better credit profile. If Pompey's demise creates a further shrinking of credit in the market (to even cover operating costs - like our overdraft at Barclays), then our reduced costs and subsequent promotion (prays silently) will put us in a stonger financial position next year. Possibly.

I always thought the idea of moderation was censorship, not discipline.

Do you think it's socially acceptable for a member to say to someone, who they believe to be Muslim, that they hope they die at the Hajj? Before you answer that question can you consider the fact that we've been approached by a company looking to sponsor us which would secure the future of the site. No, so delete the post and ban him for 2 weeks. You say that as though we haven't been down that route. I'd argue that you should have persisted with the naughty step in that case.

He would have been in his element amongst the racist language that was deemed acceptable in those days. Here's another irony. The only reason the world has changed is because of the global economy and the process of globalisation forcing us to get on with people who we never had to before. The process of globalisation, a capitalist market process, is celebrated by those who resist the nationalists. Now that is ironic.

By the by, he'll be loving that this thread has rumble on for so long. Thinking that those wailing that's it not fair, some how mitigate his behaviour. When really the people shouting loudest that he shouldn't have been banned are not doing it because they disagree with his treatment and simply because they agree with his politics. Drivel. He was quite popular on account of him being funny. Not surprised that concept is unfamiliar to you. (someone has to pick up the mantle)

I'm going to start randomly racially abusing people then. It will mainly be Parky but it'll have to do for now.
