Just getting to grips with the new Sun Kil Moon album. There's a spotify playlist in Laura Snapes' Guardian article. One of the most interesting musicians / lyricists around. He sounds like a reet knobhead but i cant help giving him the benefit of the doubt. Think he is taking the piss with all that. Good music though and loads of meat on the bone from a lyrical perspective. http://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/jun/04/i-interviewed-mark-kozelek-he-called-me-a-bitch-on-stage

I will still use all the same sources as i do now to find music i like, i doubt i will pay much attention to the apple generated recommends, they've been on itunes for years anyway. Difference is now i can have full access to it with no marginal cost. Still some questions to be answered (off-line use, bit-rate, EU costs).

The answer is never. Even if there was a theoretically possible moment when oil runs out, we will never arrive at that point. As the notion of 'running out' would entail a massive restriction in supply, the ensuing price rises would be so big that investing enormous sums of money into more efficient alternatives would become overwhelmingly attractive. At this point, the alternatives would require 'sunk costs' of investment meaning behaviors would automatically shift away before the oil runs out completely. Of course the shift to alternatives may happen sooner in which even more oil would be left. Answer: Never.

Was in Trump Chicago on Saturday. My 'it's a bit windy round here' gag didn't get any traction.

Great news. Congrats!

Recovering from a week of dinners and meetings in the US. Good to be back.

Our second one is 17 months, the eldest is 5 next week. Light at the end of the fucking tunnel!

XL with an eye on the US market release this year's Disclosure or The UK underground breaks through globally (again). More the former for me but am a big fan of the album. When a 26 year old is nostalgic for your generation, what's not to like?

Jamie xx got panned on all the electronic sites but gets an album of the year from the 'alternative' sites. Make of that what you will but I like it. 'Gosh' is brilliant but it does stand out to me that people thought it odd when The Streets used that word about a decade ago and everyone was confused about whether he was being middle class or not. I do agree with the idea that Jamie xx is derivative without adding to the body of work but at the end of the day, it's decent music and it's got great energy.

I've been in Chicago this weekend, weather has been horrendous. 7 hours time difference meant my 6.30am meeting on Saturday morning was not as outrageous as it at first appeared. Got shredded last night to make up for it. Canny violent city, been loads of murders since I got here. Very corrupt Police too according to an article I read recently. Good steaks though.

Apparently you can get specialised insurance, i heard a programme on Radio 4 about it just the other day. Does depend on the nature of the disease but might be worth looking at. http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/coping-with-cancer/coping-practically/travel/travel-insurance

Doesn't take it up the arse?

At the end at Swansea he was doing some sessions in Danish and barking Kierkegaard quotes regarding individualism and the human reality at the attacking players.

Laudrup is not happening. The shitheads will wait to appoint anyone as they will want to spend whatever it is they plan to spend without interference. Then it will be too late to get their man 'over the line'. Then we'll start the season with a better squad and Carver in charge.
