You're mixing the idea of being distasteful with being undemocratic. PR doesnt force any form of coalition whatsoever, a coalition is decided by the preferences of the people who lead and form the parties. If they dont fancy it, they dont get into the coalition. PR determines how many seats you have. If lots of people vote for UKIP, no matter how idiotic they are, having a number of 'votes' in parliament that represents that number is more democratic than any other system. Arguments based on how coalitions play out are irrelevant to the idea of representation of votes with democratic power in parliament. If in your scenario the conservatives dont want to form a coalition with UKIP its because their views are irreconcilable. In your case, another coalition can form a government and no matter how distasteful it might be, the strength of the unified vote wins. This is far too basic for me to be explaining tbh.

I would quite like to do a trip to Vegas but it would only be for a proper mad session. I dont think the gambling would draw me in too much but the house scene in LV is meant to be v good. The pool parties are meant to be amazing but i reckon am getting on a bit for that lark. Speaking of America's great cities, going to Chicago in a couple of weeks. I am on business but as its over the weekend am going to visit the Museum of Contemporary art on the Sunday afternoon and have booked a couple of tickets for the House of Blues on the Saturday night. Last time i was there i saw B.B. King. This time the Saturday night gig is Kings and Queens of House Music featuring Cece Peniston, Martha Wash, Ten City, Jellybean Benitez, Steve 'silk' Hurley, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Mike Hitman Wilson etc. Get in. Best bit is i have 2 tickets but potentially no one else who will go with me as funnily enough not many of my colleagues are nostalgic for early Chicago house classics and the heady days of ecstasy and flashing lights.

Fucking hell. I have to say Cameron's new cabinet has impressed me a little bit. Its clear you need to do time in Osborne's office if you want to get anywhere in the party but the people he has promoted are at least diverse background etc. A Tory unionist, a few birds and some ethnics. All very right-on until you actually read about their points of view.

Dubai is just a bit too far for young kids, thats the ONLY attraction of Tenerife basically 'winter sun which you can travel to in under 4 hours' which i think is about max flying time. You certainly dont go for the beaches, i think they will be v nice in Dubai. Not sure why you would go all that way for sun right now though? It was fucking boiling here yesterday, sure the south of Europe is in the high 20's low 30s.

Labour can come back easily by the way. Europe is the route. They can use the referendum to destroy UKIP and split the Tories.

What you want is a party that is really committed to the free market to such an extent that they loosen the regulations on taxis to allow the dramatic levels of market penetration shown by Uber in the US, Paris, London etc I see Uber opened in Newcastle recently. Good luck.

He's paranoid enough as it is, making him black could do him damage. They also could do with a new generation John Prescott to tap the leak UKIP. Sort of like NJS back in his casual days.
-
They need an upper class gay black man to lead them from the wilderness. An ethnic Lord Mandelson.

He's Moroccan descent so the accent is a bit off but aye basically Which i have to mention was a surprise. As him and his wife are Muslims we thought there would be 'nae bevvy' (as i kept saying to a blank face all afternoon). Turns out he likes a drink or two. Felt a right mug for taking flowers for his lass and not a bottle. You want to really be part of Europe? Its no walk in the park i can tell you. UKIP might have a point tbf.

Over the last 5 years, the Sun, Mail, Express have given strong credence to the UKIP position on Europe. I dont where the press agenda comes from though, it could be a bit of a chicken and egg situation. The Tories influences are split between EU-in from business and EU-out from the press. Its why the press have supported UKIP as they push the EU-out agenda in the Tory party. Why does the Sun, Mail, Express etc give credence to UKIP's ideas? (they may still ridicule the people but the notions behind UKIP are strongly reflected in their editorial). Is it because they think this is what resonates with their readers and at the heart of Britain in both left and right camps, there is the islander mentality that wants to remain by itself? Or are there vested interests in the right-wing press that hold that political view? (certainly at the Express). All this will play out with the EU referendum. I was with a french mate who works in investment banking on saturday and his simple view was 'its all fucked from here on in'.

The chat in here about UKIP is totally incorrect too. Whatever the result of the referendum, UKIP will persist as a political threat to the left unless they come up with something that addresses the mistakes of the last 2 (to 5) years.

Anyway, now the dust is settling, i blame Dimpleboy and his ilk for the Labour defeat. Labour lost seats in England because the UKIP vote split their supporters. There was a clear strategy from the Tories to drive the Labour vote in marginals to UKIP. If you voted UKIP in a marginal or an old labour seat, its more likely you were subject to Tory propaganda and tactics than UKIP pulling you in. The UKIP vote came from disenfranchised working class who bought the right-wing press angle on Miliband and the UKIP view on the economy. The fact that the UKIP view on the economy casts the last 30 years of de-industrialisation and the Great Recession due to immigration and this message held firm to generate 4m votes, is one of the most retarded / backward democratic expressions anywhere in Europe.

With Labour losing votes to UKIP it seems it might have been an error Miliband getting endorsement from Brand.

Neville Trotter the evil rotter was your Tory MP when I was a kid Rents.
-
Editor of the Sun going on about a last minute surge to the Tories 'out of nowhere' Fuck off you disingenuous cunt.
-
So therefore what is causing the shift? To that constituency of voter why swing back to the Tories given what the LibDems have done?
-
This! I don't get it.
-
The pattern not the size. Too early to tell really but seems to be a mix of UKIP and Tory when I thought they had lost their popularity for being too close to the Tories. The criticism I kept hearing of Clegg was stuff like tuition fees. How have voters who have left the centre position because 'Clegg betrayed them' gone to the far right?
-
Don't understand why, the Tories hate them. They want to scrap the license fee and give a free reign to Murdoch. I know it's fashionable on alternative website to cast the BBC as pure establishment but most Tories hate the idea of a nationalised broadcaster.
