  1. Dont get these swings from LibDem.
  2. "Suck it up, shitheads" (Shamelessly stolen from Marina Hyde) http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2015/may/07/memories-of-an-election-empty-barns-the-ed-stone-and-debates-that-recurred-like-cystitis
  3. As Krugman says, pointing to recent growth after austerity was put on hold as a positive is like slapping yourself in the face and saying how great it is when you stop.
  4. "Do you want to come back to mine to play with my robot?"
  5. Says the extra out of Grange Hill.
  6. Mike Skinner with an authentic accent.
  7. I do love Parky. We shared a make-shift bed after a night out clubbing in Berlin and woke up like that scene out of Trains, Planes and Automobiles. Except we didn't stop cuddling and both pretended to be asleep for 20 minutes. Good times.
  8. Because i've been saying the same thing on here for so long, its virtually a thing. Nae need for the expletives either touchy-pants.
  9. Everyone has different experiences. From a personal perspective, i would agree as our boy is easier than the girl. I was basing my general view (and to be clear i mean for toddlers / young, not from 6 years upwards as i dont know children in that age group well) on my observations amongst friends. What i observe is the parents with 2 boys expending more energy and in more chaos than the parents with 2 girls. All our mates seem to have one pair or the other so that might also affect what i see, i.e. when mixed or single they interact differently. I would just like to say that i find your friend's characterisation of their girls as 'devious' and playing 'mind-games' as a bit troubling. Would you say thats what women are like? Does it strike you as odd that mothers refer to their daughters in this way? At what age do they mean? Adolescence? I see examples of my girl trying to use her affection or emotion to gain influence over something she wants but i see this as natural and as its done by a (nearly) 5 year old i'm kind of comfortable seeing it as the innocent childs play it is. Not mind-games She is used to hearing the word 'no' and doesnt get what she wants so she negotiates. Am happy with that i think but who knows where its all leading
  10. Change your mind, prove you've got one?
  11. Labour deregulated the US, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Greek, Azerbaijani financial markets too? The crash happened everywhere, how can UK regulation be to blame? I dont need any steers on this but thanks anyway Let me just correct a few things. We didnt overspend nor did we fail to to pay down debt because the models in complete alignment across the board did not forecast a massive downturn in the economy. Only in the face of a forecast cyclical downturn would you potentially use Kenynesian counter-fiscal policy, a policy no one has used for decades. The policy they were using to account for and counter-act negative aspects of the levels of government spending was monetary policy to set inflation targets. If the government was 'over' spending, there would have been inflationary pressure and the response would have been to raise interest rates. The definition of 'over' in this context is laden with judgement based on some notion of what is right and wrong, which in the context of British economic policy in the 2000s was inflation-based. So no inflation, no over-spending. As someone on the Guardian website says, this notion of 'over-spending' is meaningless outside the context of economic policy. If you still want to use it without this context then fine but the response is simple: the over-spending counter-balances 18 years of Tory under-spending. Its meaningless but if us leftists can have our cake and eat it on that one. Finally we were running a deficit of less than 3% (which we needed to do under Maastricht). So, if Labour had not invested in Sure Start or boosted welfare benefits for working low income families and not invested in the NHS, then we might have been nearer to 0% during the pre-crisis period. Then what happens when we bail the banks out and the economy crashes? We go 500bn into debt and start running a massive deficit. The impact of public spending in the period 2002-2007 has no relevance to the impact of the crisis and the depth of the recession. For proof of this point, have a look at Spain's fiscal surplus across this period. If the current economic conditions in the UK can be attributed to Labour spending pre-2008, how come Spain is in more pain than us? Our pain was because UK GDP output was made up predominantly by financial services. The real blame, the real cause of today's economic problems are the people who allowed our economy to be dominated by the financial services industry. I wonder when that happened?
  12. http://www.theguardian.com/business/2015/may/03/senior-tory-financial-crash-was-purely-a-banking-crisis-not-labour-overspend Absolute disgrace that this lie has been sucked up by millions of idiots.

  14. Little girls are easier to manage than little boys in general. It's only a rule of thumb as ever kid is different but when girls are little it's all princess shite and playing imaginary games whereas lads want to climb and fall off things. Having said that you can see the trouble to come on the girl side. I take mine to school and if she is wearing some new shoes or something, the first thing her mates do is start talking about them and our one will start posing and showing them off like a model. She's 4 ffs. I suppose growing up in central Paris its to be expected but I never realised how quickly it would come to that. They are also, like all girls I guess, bitchy as hell about each other
  15. Just had a listen all the way through, some good moments. Blur not doing anything for me either yet.
  16. Wor lass is sick as a dog and so are the 2 kids. The youngest has had conjunctivitis and a streaming nose, coughing etc so he's on anti-biotics, nose cleaning regime, eye drops the lot. He's only 14 months so its a struggle to sort that out twice a day whilst he screams baby for 'get off me you cunt' at you for the duration. The eldest is ill too but her big issue right now is wanting to kip in our bed. As our lass is ill, i'm doing the nights (3 times last night) the mornings, the school run, the dinner. I'm also working every hour god sends as we are in the middle of some very delicate negotiations with the UK, Belgium and the Czech Republic. I was away for 3 days on business last so am lucky am at home this week to sort everything out. Lack of sleep is killing me a bit today, I was in bed at 10.30 last night and then the youngest wakes up at 11pm, 1am and 3am to snot and shit all over me and i didnt sleep between 1 and 3am. He also only woke up at 1am as his sister was trying to get into bed with us. Typical. Got up at 6.30 to start the next round of multiple breakfasts, medications and lost socks. As am working from home, i've not had a shower since Monday evening as i've flat out. Going for one now at last. Total snot and food-stained bamp. Anyway, i think people who can have a lie-in but blithely ignore this wonderful luxury and get up to do laundry or something similar should be ashamed of themselves for wasting such a privilege . Yes you Jill ffs.
