The "Isak to Liverpool" thing started after the Carabao cup final on social media. I got the impression some large anonymous accounts started to incessantly beat a drum about it and it ended up with Isak saying he wanted to leave. These accounts were, if you ask me, put up to it or created by Isak's agents who also spoke to LFC. Yes Mitchell fucked up the new contract talks but a transfer needs a willing buyer...not sure if Liverpool were ever that keen at the price required once Isak's wishes were made public...

We could sign very good players up until last summer. Bruno was an experienced European player and Brazilian international when he signed for a team in the bottom 3, not some kid with potential. We have made signings of this sort and the hallowed "cheap young players with potential" from the word go after the takeover. That has stopped. They don't want to come here. They have better offers. Not getting the apparent no-mark Tosin on a free last summer seems to have been the catalyst for this. He was the first. We took Hall FROM Chelsea ffs. And Arsenal were apparently looking at both Bruno and Isak. Sesko is almost exactly at the same stage in his career as Isak was when he came here. Not much more expensive three years on either. We presumably could afford comparable wages to other clubs looking at the players we did sign. Something isn't adding up..
