Bands you didn't like at the time but now sort of appreciate

Last 3 cds purchased....Simple Minds,Chris Rea, Dire Straights.....my totally cool teenage self now fuckin hates me Dire Straights especially....remove the one with Sting on it and the fuckin walk of life from "Brothers in Arms" and its a magical piece of work. The title track alone is stunning. Think I hid my sister's copy of it at the the time to stop her playing "the fuckin walk of life" over and over again. -
The Olympic Minge Thread. ( NSFW Possibly)

The fantastically named Ranomi Kromowidjojo......won gold last night....fine set of shoulders on her....swimming finsihes soon so they'll all be off shagging fuck out of each other for the rest of their stay in the Olympic village....am not jealous or anything like... -
I'm not saying he wasnt, but there was a major turnaround in opinion of him in the last couple of months based on his good form. Before that.....the one that springs to mind is Chelsea at home where he was widely condemned for not being able to out jump Drogba for one of their goals, before christmas and for the entire previous season he was generally classed as "shite". As I say, theres some short memories on here.An old truism goes "form is temporary, class is permanent" but for the vast majority of his career here he was mostly viewed as classless on here. Would anyone really be pleased if Tiote was sold and we signed no one to replace him and Perch got an extended run in the side?

The 2 vital players NUFC cannot do without.

Sell them both for 40mill and its two years champions league money without having to qualify for it -
Bramble could look like the Black Bobby Moore at times. Some short memories on here mind. If a top player leaves before the end of the month and is replaced "from within the present squad" the moaning on here will make Loose Women look like a debate at the Oxford Union

Lille play hard ball. Who'd have thunk it? We'll end up giving them another couple of million for Cabaye after all...
-
The almost unanimous verdict of Perch's abitlies last season was that, apart from half a dozen games, he was fuckin shite. A slightly more adaptable Titus Bramble if you like. I think theres some re-writing of history going on here.

So is Prince Phillip on some Pacific islands but I wouldnt play that cunt in the centre of the park either

Would you agree with that?...

roberto carlos has retired.2nd best ever left back ?
PaddockLad replied to essembeeofsunderland's topic in Newcastle Forum
If you want to be pendantic, Real Madrid didnt play a left midfielder when he was in his pomp, he did 2 jobs in one. One of the fastest players ever to put a pair of boots on. The defensive side of his game was almost entirely about using that speed to make up for being out of posistion half the time. So its difficult to say if he's the greatest left back ever, but 3 champions leagues and 4 la ligas with Real Madrid suggests he wasnt a mug. -
I'd rather listen to Claire Balding talk about horse racing than any of the Motd malingerers talk about football. And I love football. We're in with a chance of another gold in the ladies rowing today in the double skulls. Katherine Grainger, who is looking to get gold in this event to add to her 3 olympic silvers from previous games, was yesterday described as a "gigantic leabian" by one of the lads in our office who used to row at the same club as her.

Yeah fair one, I felt that it had been reported so much and in so much detail there was more than an element of truth to it, and when asked the club didnt deny or confirm the clause exisited. On the old "balance of probability" I'd say it existed.

Booked into the D/H Hilton for Saturday night....the city looks smart as fuck actually, its home to Queen Beartrix, the Parliament, the EU and UN courts etc etc so am thinking things willbe a bit more pricey than the Damrak

no, but you can have my opinion... if I look at his age, injury situation, comparatively poor form post ACN and his and Cisses participation in it next January , likely tactical set up next season, possible reaction to playing second fiddle to Cisse, the transfer policy employed by the club and my own gut feeling, then for me its good business to sell this summer. And you'll notice I only chirped up about after his own private 7mill transfer windowhad closed, meaning we can name our price now and if we get a piss take offer we can say no. A lot of unknowns in there granted. But thats my opinion. As I said last night, this is how we compete on income with the likes of Spurs and Liverpool who it would seem are our main rivals at the moment. We have to make the most of what we have financially, regardless of who the player is. As for a replacement I'd suggest someone young and up coming because I think if we're going mostly with some form of 433 next season we have the players to do it effectively but sadly Ba didnt look like he was entirely comfortable in it. Now if you can be arsed to reply be nice. No good coming on here trying to belittle folk for having a different yet honestly held opinion, or you'll end up a pariah like Leazes. Not that you're like him in any way. No. Not at all.

Things a bit dull round yours tonight Cabaye?.....

We're off to Den Haag on Saturday, anyone been?,....giving A/dam a miss this time....its only one night and its over an hour on the train after the game.

Sunderland AFC - how do you feel about them?
PaddockLad replied to McFaul 's topic in Newcastle Forum
Couldnt give a fuck about them until we play them....it does matter, the best moment of last season was beating them at their place, very closely folowed by Shola's equaliser. Mackems Ive met are ok until football rears its head and then its game over. Learned not to mention it in the end. -

When your redeuced to that old son you've lost the argument what the fuck are you going on about? its ok, you're allowed to disagree with my point, but youve backed it up with nothing but jumping all over what Ive said like an over excited teenage girl without making one coherant point. Then its playground insults and pointing out spelling mistakes. Which basically means youve lost the argument. Thankyou and goodnight.
-
your not showing yourself up to be that clever yourself old son if you cant equate this: with letting Ba go this summer.
-
Err.... You're right, he's unlikely to go anywhere this summer, the deal wouldve been done weeks ago if he was. I did say if someone gets desperate in the last few days of the window for any one of a variety of reasons he could still leave. That has to be a possibilty for all our players, not just Ba. Even I can trust Dekka and Mike not to pay stupid money for the likes of Fletcher. Youve not really shown why its wiser to keep Ba...I accept completely that CT likes to watch him play. But apart from that.....what is there?
-
Dont you want to see even better players at NUFC?....we have a big chance to do it the right way, and thats by having no sentiment about any of the current playing staff and selling them when an offer comes in thats more than their true value. I'd let Tiote go this summer as well for the same reason.
