I can't honestly think of any other reason to turn down Milan and Werder Bremen...was there anyone else?..Liverpool?..hate saying it, but they're all more attractive than us at the moment. And didnt his agent say that they were told to find a new club (i.e. us) and he wasn't allowed to go because Milan wanted to pay cash now rather than a loan? It all points to us offering the most dosh for me. We're paying some players 50k+ a week. No player coming in is reportedly on more than 25k. But Mike Ashley could also say the moon is made of green cheese and it would be about as truthful coming from that fuckers gob.

Strange as it may seem, I think we just offered him the most money and the deal is flexible enough so now that he'll be playing in the worlds biggest shop window he may be able to go for big money next summer, if he's any good like. I don't buy the bollocks about the atmosphere on Saturday either, it wasnt bad and there were some toon ultra types singing songs about him but anyone who's been to the Velodrome in Marseille will know he's used to big atmospheres most weeks. I think he's trouble, but we haven't paid a fee and hes ours for season. Could be worse but I'm not building my hopes up.

I was there yesterday and we played more actual "football" than in about a dozen away games put together last season...on that evidence CH may be trying to change the way we play away from home. If this is the case, then he may well have learned from watching promoted sides in the recent past go into away games with 10 players behind the ball and trying to shut up shop and coming away with nowt. Fair play to him if this is the case, you need points to stay (and indeed prosper) in this league and going for it away from home in a controlled way like yesterday may well be the way to go.

I work with one and he was fuckin spitting blood on Monday morning...they thought theyd be streets ahead of us this season and they now know its likely to be a lot closer than they thought in October when they come here...this prick at work is truly rattled and it looks like he's not alone

Could the fact that the mail is banned from SJP and we've just had our best result in a couple of years have a bearing on why this crock of fuckin shit has appeared this week?....upset the print media and they will try to get their own back in the most childish way they can...see also the sun and Southampton FC's stance over match day photographers
-
Black and White checked scarves/hats worn by roughly half of the crowd at SJP.....was in the Percy after the game on Sunday and a lad came in wearing one "Traffic Light" puffa jackets.....3 different colour bands, cool as fuck..also denim dunagarees, for some unknown reason? and err...Espadrilles ...which, correct me if I'm wrong style freaks, have made a comeback this summer?...

Stevie's entertaining man. I'll give Stevie his due, he does have a bit of wit and knowledge, but when someone is ranting it tends to just sound like noise...Stevie don't make the jump to the "talkies" it won't suit your patter mate

Is he not just some sort of manc version of Stevie?

Interesting. Does that mean he's using Nolan in a holding type role? no it means hes fuckin guessing like the rest of us
-
Whatever happens tonight will it be as bad as being third in the league in mid April with a chance to finish second and letting the twats put six past us at home?.........well thats the straw am clinging to anyway

your tactics are outdated....we're going to punt it up to Carroll and hope for the best, in line with modern tactical theory We'll play 5 in midfiled including Barton,Nolan and Guthrie and only one of Guti or Routledge, which means Guti... Willo and Collo, Jose and errr....Perch or Taylor is really the only choice CH has got to make. 4 nowt at least -
True, but I was there and the whole fuckin lot of them were pissing themselves, not just a minority. What goes round comes round....t'is the nature of football

This. Cunts. I laughed when I heard the news. People looked at me in a funny way. They don't understand

Welcome To Glasgow - Advice On Your Visit To Glasgow
PaddockLad replied to luvly_jubbly's topic in Newcastle Forum
I think you're just looking wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much into little things.. Aye, probably. My main point was what a total mug he made of himself. Thats funny.....a Rangers fan I work with told me yesterday that Alan Smith is a huge Rangers fan....I told him I thought he'd be more likely to be a Leeds fan, but he said that Smith became keen on the Gers when they played Leeds in the champs league in the early 90s -
Thats funny.... earlier this week Fergie said the only player not fit for Sundays Charity Shield is Michael Carrick looks like he wasnt counting Hargreaves but its fair to say only him, Ferdinand and Anderson will definetly miss their league opener v our good selves http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_pre...njury_table.php

good comment I've not heard before. It is and it started happening in the mid 80s just as I left school on that side of the border. There was also a large scale teachers strike and part of their industrial action was a ban on members taing extra curricular activities including Saturday morning sport. I went to Kelso High School and we had 6 rugby teams on a Staurday morning without fail. My sister works at the school now and says they stuggle to turn out 3 most weeks. Since then the only truly international class football player Scotland have produced may be John Collins but I know that may well be a view not endorsed by the majority of posters on here The other side of this coin is communities, and as mentioned earlier in the thread this affects the North East as much as it does Scotland. The ones that produced all the quality players (invariably industrial and working class; Scotlands central belt, the north east,Merseyside,East London etc) are all sad shadows of their former selves. The jobs went first, then the loss of self respect needed to dedicate yourself to sport when days are long and full of nothing. The corresponding benefit culture that sprang up to replace the jobs I imagine saps any will from potentially good players, and that is before you consider cheap and available drugs on lots of street corners. This is starting to affect the England team as we speak, look beyond the first 11 and you see one of the reasons why they failed so badly in the summer....Green and Upson first choice back up? if it is said that West Ham won the world cup in 66 you could say they went a large way to blowing it in for England in 2010. These islands dont produce the players they once did full stop. And its down to society rather than foreign players/coaches/lack of coaching etc if you ask me.

I think he might be hanging out around the Life Centre a fair bit now hes back..... http://footballboners.blogspot.com/2009/03/xisco.html

True, but the only reason you're on here is because you're fuckin jealous of those crowds. Be a good little bell end and run along to admire all your 20 zillion trophies....we don't care about you, them or your club.....and one things for sure we'll never be in our nearest and bitterest rivals shadow, or be so piss poor in comparison to them that they have to take up a rivalry with another club. havent they just spent the last season in the division above you? Yeah but its not quite the same as 5 European cups and 18 league titles is it? Or that a now pretty much second rate Liverpool still look down their noses at you lot. Historically we're more succesful than Sunderland. Thats a narrow minded and parochial view admittedly, but its mostly what English football is about, outside of the top level anyway. And lets face it, both Newcastle and Everton know all about being outside the top level.

Liverpool population- 460,000 Newcastle population- 190,000 From 2001 census. Catchment area? If you take Tyne and Wear, the population in 2001 was 1,095,200 Merseyside was 1,362,026 So theres the best part of 400,000 more potential supporters in Merseyside than there is in Tyne and Wear and both have 2 Premier League clubs.....and obviously if you add together the monthly attendance figures for eachof the 4 clubs during the season you may well find that the North East footballing public has greater numbers in general than Merseyside despite the disparity between population and relative success of the 4 clubs. Liverpool are one of the worlds great football clubs due to their history but couldnt fill their ground for every game last season. Everton?...the less said the better I think
-
Liverpool population- 460,000 Newcastle population- 190,000 From 2001 census. what difference does that make? you still only have 1 team But Everton and Liverpool are historically far more successful clubs, which, according to some, is all that matters You should be packed out every week old son because you won the FA cup in 1995. so higher attendances matter more than trophy's won? how many points do you get for filling your ground? About as many as you get for winning the FA cup, which you used further back in the thread when you said you were awful in the 90s and yet still won more than us, which is true. By the way, do you lot still send Hans Segers christmas cards?
