  1. Soggy pics from the game. Class photography of our man Cabaye being taken down. http://www.nufc.co.uk/page/News/Gallery/0,...2412375,00.html
  2. What goes from 0 - 60 mph in 4 seconds? A gentleman possibly originating far from these shores pushing a shopping trolley on Tottenham high street. *Played it safe*
  3. Liverpool just playing the last minute bargain game here imo.
  4. I'd have thought Cabaye would be a better shout. Barton isn't and never has been a DM to my mind (and the same goes for Viana). Thats the role he appeared to play at Darlington im (limited) o ........ Going to be awesome this bloke. May have to have to get his name tatooed next to Shanes.
  5. I must admit that I never had any real problem with Shepherd. In fact in those days I rarely even considered the board. That was however the days before I was online / twitter etc and everything gets chewed over in minute detail. I remember reading about the geordie lasses being dogs etc, however I had also been to the big market so had some sympathy. Its interesting how we would all be reacting had joey had twitter during the dressing room bust up with shearer. The internet has definitely intensified emotions of being a fan.
  6. Cant remember if sick jokes with racial overtones are allowed or are we all now too pc? Perhaps some advice before I post please
  7. Premier League preview: Newcastle United Disgruntlement is growing among Newcastle fans who are fed up with the club being synonymous with self-destructive gossip
  8. Chillin, today is my Saturday morning. Just finished 3 back to back double shifts. Time to do nowt (apart from the small matter of entertaining and feeding a 9 month old and 7 year old all day)!!! Really starting to get excited about Saturday and hoping that the weather can get its act together for a gorgeous sunny Saturday afternoon.
  9. Storm clouds gather over Newcastle as Alan Pardew plots purist path Independent :D
  10. Alan Pardew has made a personal check on Holland left back Erik Pieters as he lines up a replacement for Jose Enrique. Spanish left back Enrique is expected to leave Newcastle for Liverpool this week in a £5.5m deal. Newcastle boss Pardew flew out to watch Pieters, 22, play for PSV Eindhoven in their 3-1 defeat at AZ Alkmaar. Pardew wanted to check on Pieters’ fitness as he recovers from a pre-season knee injury. He came off the bench to play the second half in PSV’s defeat. Pardew also took the chance to watch PSV striker Ola Toivonen. He is also interested in Tottenham’s Roman Pavlyuchenko and Peter Crouch. Pardew expects to finalise Gabriel Obertan’s move from Manchester United on Monday. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...l#ixzz1UNpp7dvh
  11. If you weren't bullshitting you would've disclosed his name. Client confidentiallity Tomas R&W though not B&W
  12. On a 10 mile round trip to nandos with a premiership footballer! Currently.
  13. Only one of us claims to be the superfan Seriously though, you have no interest in what I say, yet you follow me around derailing thread after thread. Why not just put me on ignore? That's where I had you and I mistakenly took you off thinking you might have got over your superfaness. Your back on now and I would suggest you the same. Sad man.
  14. Superfantastic Too much shite in that lot to even bother addressing tbf tbs!
  15. As I have said many times, the problem for todays premiership owner is that they know there is little point throwing big bucks at the team because it still wont get them anywhere near the Champions League / Big Rewards. Even getting into the Uefa cup is not worth the investment to get there. I dont like or agree with that attitude but I cant really see given the current set up how it will change. As AP points out, how are you really going to compete with clubs backed by sovereign states! Its just becoming less of an attractive gamble to throw money at it. Took Spurs 6 years to do it sensibly and even then a lot of money was spent...But they invested the Berbatov money and so on.. And are now fooked again with no money to spend unless they cash in on the stars, but in reality probably pushed even further down the pecking order by Liverpools 100 and odd million splurge.
  16. Then why bother supporting the Club if that's the attitude you're happy to take? 'Why bother investing, 'cause it ain't gonna get us anywhere!' ???? If that's the attitude of a NUFC supporter, then why bother having anything to do with the club? The most defeatist attitude I've just about ever read. Those who were willing to see over the last few years if the Club would grow incrementally, with no need for 20 million pound signings but carefully adding to a squad that was keeping the good players and getting rid of the deadwood, have all been shafted. The average NUFC supporter could understand the need for SOME financial control ... IF we could see that the club was going forward and growing. That hasn't happened. Indeed, naught has happened. We've been fucked over loyally. You've misread my post accidentally or on purpose. I said that it's not MY attitude but how I believe most premiership OWNERS view it. My apologies, CT. I think we're all a bit on edge around here at the moment. Nee worries, it will all ease a bit when we get back to playing football.....hopefully
  17. The Negs are so desperate for Negative news they're even lapping up NUFC BLOG without question.

As AP points out, how are you really going to compete with clubs backed by sovereign states! Its just becoming less of an attractive gamble to throw money at it. So why bother buying a football club? Bit of fun, wasn't it! You're average group of local business men / fans used to be able to buy and run a football club quite easily. Those days have gone and it's only a worth while venture for super rich groups or Arabs etc. Too much proportion of the money in football goes to players meaning most clubs are either running in debt or only just getting by. As there is a massive riches gap between the top four and the rest, there is also a massive gap between divisions leading to situations like high paid unwanted players stuck at clubs on big money. See smith or bridge etc. Something has to give and we can only hope these new financial rules have some effect.
