  1. I agree with all of that except the last sentence. But how anyone can not see the progress, not just league position, that is being made is simply astounding to me. I don't know how far back seriously you have to go to find such a tight unit, playing some extremely good football, with decent pros, skiful individuals and promising youngsters both in the first squad and reserves. Our overall health is very good compared to a lot of clubs in this league. We are also probably better positioned to push on than most. Even Tottenham who have done ok. What will happen there if they miss 4th spot and the wages begin to bite. Even replacing Hughton with Pardew is looking like a master stroke. Those who say it is all luck are daft. Masterplan? I don't know but lots of things are going right at Newcastle.
  2. Common sense at last. I would be interested if PP would link to these so called statements saying we were going to buy young future stars and then sell them when they come good. I can't recall it. Your selective memory is unlikely to tbf. I'll hunt them out but they refer to the purchasing criteria that Llambias drew up which clearly referred to future resale value. I look forward to seeing said club statements.

  4. precisely. Which method are you two referring to? The club is not being run by the same methods this season compared to last season. Last season was different to the season before. I dont see any method which is consistent across the last 3 seasons. There is an offer of a 100 quid bet for charity on the table for anyone who wants to claim Carroll will be sold this window. as PP says, short term is unpredictable, but the effects of the long term are different altogether. If we don't build and aim to go higher, more than Carroll will eventually leave ie Tiote, Ben Arfa, Enrique will realise they would be more likely to play in europe and win trophies somewhere else. Your so fucking negative at times. We are building! That's why we have the likes of Tiote and Ben Arfa. That's why we are not selling Carrol. That's why we are not selling Enrique . That's why we have some very good young prospects in the reserves, bought because of Ashleys policy. That's why we are 8th in the league That's why we have a team that is looking better and better. That's why we are higher in the league than when Ashley bought us. You numpty.
  5. Couldnt help laughing when ferguson then squared up to him I also think ferguson must have been chuntering away at him because Baum just seemed to get more livid as the game went on.
  6. I understand people trying to put logical reasons for not getting into Europe but fucking he'll what bollocks. If we go into the last game of the season needing a win to beat Sunderland for European football we will all be gagging for it. It's also puts us on a stage that we are not currently on and can only assist in the aquisitions of the next Ben Arfa.
  7. If only you knew what the elite were watching it on Kev's were all shit, i got mine from elsewhere. This. Got mine in a pm from a newish poster, nice chap.
  8. Of course, captain obvious. My point more was that it would be great to be able to celebrate victories like tonights without having some burning resentment and cynicism putting a dampener on things. Have avoided this thread for obvious reasons, however you should be able to enjoy this victory on the day that Ben Arfa has signed a four year deal and our manager has gone on record that it is 100% certain that Carrol will not be sold in the Jan Window. The bottom line for me, as Ive said many times, is that since relegation we have been on an upward curve and everyone at the club seems to be rowing from the same hymnsheet. We got the likes of Routledge and Best in last Jan and didnt lose any big guns, in the summer we got Ben Arfa and Tiote and again didnt lose any big guns and we sit here 8th in the prem, with a game in hand, being told we are not going to sell our biggest gun. The cynicism for Ashley will never go away for most, it will just continue to dwindle, especially if we continue with the current progress. The big unknown is what motivates him. While its true he might leave tomorrow if he got his money back, that scenario seems unlikely and I think he is on his own little mission to prove to the "football community" that he can create a succesful club. We'll see.
  9. And Beardsleys and Hughtons and Henry Winters etc etc etc Aye Hughton. So, surely he watched enough of Ferguson to know he wasn't ready for this level hence his lack of game time and having others playing ahead of him week in week out. In fairness to Pardew he's going to want to make a good start to the job and will rightly, imo, utilise his experienced squad to get him those results. In my job if I had 2 lads doing the same one, one a brand new'un and another with years of experience, I'd use the experienced lad to get the big job done. Often regardless of their work ethic etc because I know the skills are there, it's just finding a way to get the best from him. As much as I respect Hughton, his assertion Lua Lua wasn't read was one of his mistakes. He was by a million miles the best player in League One till he broke his leg. Look at Brighton's shit form since that happened, and the way Jonas is playing he could've been a good option especially with Jonas and Routledge playing one good game in five. Regarding Ferguson, seen him playing full back at reserves a lot but he's equally adept further up the park, he's a good prospect. Looked excellent against Aldershot Stanley in the League Cup. Who the fuck are Aldershot Stanley!?! A long story Not like you to be Tongue-tied CT. Tell the lad. I was going too but couldnt remember who the fuck the right team was

  12. we have absolutely no chance, barring investment in quality players and no major sales in this transfer window. How long will it take for some numpty who wasn't at the game tonight, and they are obvious, to claim that I haven't enjoyed the win tonight despite laying down solid cash to watch it and every other game for the rest of the season come what may. You really couldn't make up the stupidity of some people So you are seriously saying that its impossible for us to finish one place higher than we are now?
  13. Pardew predicts STRONG finish (And he should know) http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6636779,00.html
  14. Ofcourse we've got a chance were already 8th with a game in hand ffs. I get the negativity to Ashley but the negativity to our chances of finishing 1 place higher than we currently are seems petty and stupid to me.
  15. Well he didnt get a start but at least he got on and didnt look out of place. Put a few crosses in, got stuck in. Also ran into the box and pulled the ball back for Nolan to set up ranger for a tap in. Be suprised if he wasnt a permanent fixture now on the bench and got quite a few chances to shine. Well done lad.
  16. LEON LEOOOOOOON BEST LEON LEOOOOON BEST LEON LEOOOOOON BEST Well we all went tonight thinking it was going to be a mundane load of pish. I enjoyed it more tonight than I did against Villa, it was fuckin mint. See Best, as I've proved numerous times I'm psychic as fuck and I am, and as the post above illustrates, I knew he was in for a good neet. Not only that backed him at 6/1 first score first half, and second half too :) hard to believe but I said to the kids next to me I bet he gets a hattrick the neet and he was great, his first goal was a very considered finished, could've panicked, but he took it really well, the third was absolutely fantastic, proper strikers finish. Really loved up feeling around the ground tonight, I honestly loved that game tonight, we knew we had to support them, everyone was like 4fs when they seen Lovenkrands and Best on the sheet but that was mint. I tell you what though you will live your whole life and not see a worse miss than Ranger's in front of the Gallowgate end, wait till yous see it there's not enough smileys to put up for how good a neet it was :nufc: Another thing as well the crowd were singin for Pardew. The thing is right we could've won that 10-0 tonight. It was so fuckin good for 70 minutes. Embarrassingly fickle imo You're not kidding. Tonight though honest, there was a loved up feeling round the ground like we were all in it together I'm ganna have to gan sober again, I made up for it at half time but honestly it was a fantastic night, thoroughly enjoyable. Number 31 played well can't even remember who it was, he came on, and done good, needs some beef dinners doon his neck though. Some one called Ferguson
  17. Can you really see AC agreeing to fuck US over in that way? 2½ years ago, no-one would have said Shay Given would. Jesus wept man, the club was in turmoil then but I still dont remember Shay agreeing to feign injury for a few games to get a deal done.
  18. Good shout and probably lost in everything else going on tonight be he looked totally on his game tonight, really up for it.
  19. Can you really see AC agreeing to fuck US over in that way? It'd be out of his hands. Ofcourse it wont. Andy, we want you to pretend your ill and not play!!!! Dont think so. Is that what you really think AC would do?
  20. Not at all, I follow the journos and Lord Sugar (whose very funny). And what makes you think Im not following you all on twitter anyway!
  21. "100% going nowhere in this transfer window" is the more accurate and less comforting quote Where is this interview? Just what the journos are all tweeting from the after match press conference
  22. Can you really see AC agreeing to fuck US over in that way?
