If we're promoted will we be in better shape than 2 years back?
Christmas Tree replied to OTF's topic in Newcastle Forum
No -
as i've said earlier, i dont think CH see's the 2 CM as anything other than destroyers. our play is gonna revert to a more elemental form of play whereby we get the ball out to the wing early for our quick wingers (which we do have now) and crossed into the box early for the 2 big lads up front to challenge for, with maybe someone from midfield getting forward. basic but sometimes effective. this is just my opinion. i would like to hear what anyone else thinks our tactics will be up to the end of the season. Hughton has decided to do without a midfield and instead play 6 strikers. Each attack will start with Harper who will Launch the ball forward for our strikers.

If promoted who are we replacing Hughton with?

What's Hughtons assistant called and you have your answer. -

That's what you get for setting a film in South Africa. Should've based it in Gateshead. Very True, but its a tough accent to understand anyway before you get hollywood actors pretending to be South Africans. When most people watch this they will find themselves at various points saying "what did he just say"? -

Invictus 8 / 10 Would have been much better without the stupid accents. -
Far too many Hobgoblins and now have the worst hangover in 10 years as the wife explains what a nasty pig I was at the end of the night. Too Much Hobgoblin + Too many home truths = One patio coming up

Aren't the Poles the largest group in recent data and didn't most of them work and pay tax contributing to the economy? aye, I'm sure all these polish brickies have been braying down the door of the local tax office to fill in their self assesment.

Forget illegals, genuine asylum seekers and terrorists...... It is enough just to look at the number of legals that have come in over the last 10 years. These are vast numbers that have drained away billions. Why should they be allowed to come here get benefits, housing and other resources? I would repeat, I can't go to oz or USA etc and scrounge.

Why Iraq and not Iran is the hook to all of this.

People who mix racism with immigration cloud the issue. If I can feed 10 people for dinner and 40 turn up it causes a problem. The UK is no different. Each year there is a total sum of money that needs spending on its residents. If the number of residents swell without controls then the cash cant go as far. Simples. Isnt it right that you cant get into Australia unless you either have a job to come too or have sufficient funds to support yourself and family. These funds are placed into a government account and only given back when a sufficient period of time has passed and you have proved you can support yourself.

And so far as the likes of you are concerned, anything deviating from a hard-line approach or with a nod to realism makes you a brainwashed, Guardian-reading "do-gooder" who cleans the toilets of mosques for a living. Which is why neither side will ever agree and this thread and versions of it will keep happening. Again and again and again. Tedious, isn't it? Both sides summed up perfectly. From my perspective it is definately not a race thing as such. Its more a general dislike / mistrust of people who seem unwilling to merge into society. I come into contact every day from the school yard to work to the pub with "foreigners" who are taking a full part in society, are open , friendly and skin tone never enters my mind. There are others however others who do close themselves off, dont try and fit in and as such make themselves stick out. This however is just a mirror of everyday relationships that we all encounter that have the same results. There will be people in the office who are stand offish and as such do not form relationships and become the brunt of the "packs" jokes. On top of all this we are living in tough times with a joke of an imigration policy. The two sides of life are bound to be muddied. True but the point is that Leazes see anyone who doesn't fit in as you describe as a threat to his way of life and to his actual life - I've asked for examples of the first without success and the second is ridiculous. It's this perceived threat to "Britishness" (which they can never define anyway) that marks people who may have doubts about immigration as root core racists imo. I'd also say that despite some false starts the current immigration system isn't that bad - the points system makes sense and as I've said the only element I'd limit severely is the arranged marriage importation of uneducated Southern Asians. But surely you can understand that there is a broad spectrum in society from the furtherst right real BNP Nazi to the leftiest of the left. Age, social standing and life experiences determine where you fit on the scale. The problem alot of us have on both sides is that people always want to put you into one camp or the other. I prefer to look at this spectrum as 1 to 100 and where leazes might be at point 70, i might be at point 60. That still does not put either of us at Nazi point 100.

I think that's harsh like. What side do you think he should be putting out? I dont think its easy as saying what side you'd put out but I would certainly have Krul in ahead of Harper, particularly with his confidence on collecting crosses. Its the old scenario were I think a proper manager would get more out of the current squad. (And thats not his fault because he's really a coach) There is a squad there that should be able to go out and tear some of these teams apart and for whatever reason he either cant put that together in training or motivate the performance.
-
Hopeless. This team should have been head and shoulders above the others and I cant recall the last time I watched us play really well. Nothing will change however while Ashley is in charge. Fuck me its depressing.

Just like the good old days, eh? Na, this is how we do it in south tyneside

Sherlock Holmes 7/10 All the best bits were in the trailer but still an enjoyable yarn. Only complaint would be that there seemed a lot of "fluff" that could have been left out making a faster paced ride. Downey is a class above, a pleasure to watch and I would love to see him get more roles. -
