More project fear. All the same people making the same threats if we didn’t join the euro and if we voted to leave. The economy’s growing, we have record employment, wages are rising, record investment in the NHS and England are still in the World Cup and Germany are out. Stop being such a screaming fanny. Just think how depressed you are going to be when the deal is done, all this “investment on hold”, pours in, trade deals are getting signed around the world and the economy is booming in the years leading upto the next election.

1. We agree there’ll be free trade. Because of the FTA, there will also be a deal / divergence etc in services, mainly because it makes life easier for EU business. 2. Most of our current EU negotiated deals will roll over. We can then do our own deals with whoever we choose. 3. Sovereignty was an issue. Future governments can now do whatever they like to suit this country’s needs, whatever they may be, without having to get the EU’s approval. 4. People everywhere voted to leave. Most people have agreed for years, long before Brexit, that we should have an immigration policy that suits the country’s needs, not just an open door.

The EU have said many times they want a free trade deal. What is your evidence that they have changed their mind but are keeping it secret?

It’s not a case of favours it’s a case of wanting to continue selling us BMW’s, Audi’s, Champagne, etc etc.

I don’t particularly care too much. I was offered a choice and like the majority who voted, decided out was better than in. It’s pretty obvious free trade with the EU is going to continue as is AND we’ll be out of the EU AND we’ll be able to decide our own trade deals in the years ahead.

Whoever we want and whatever we want, that’s the point.

Because we’re FREE to do our own trade deals.

Couldn’t believe this when I heard about it. Apparently it’s something to do with extreme libertarian ideology (from memory @adios will know about that) and is designed to stop poor laws been passed without proper debate / procedure..... but fucking hell. Unbelievable.

I used to be the same between 35 - mid 40’s (pub night) 3 pints was happy, having a laugh but the fourth would result in trying to extend the night or being arsey with those suggesting it was time to call it a night. Only cure was discipline and stopping at the 3rd. Luckily these nights were with really close friends and family so the damage (doghouse) was there the next day. I imagine it’s a lot harder given your job, location etc when there’s always a ready crowd to go out with. I also see first hand quite a few respectable professional people who have turned alcoholic and it’s a very sad spiral. Leave the heavy nights to the young’uns, get a handle on your tipping point and start metal detecting for the adrenaline hit.
