Expert or not, it's true I'm nee Keegan but playing in university leagues/alliance leagues, coaching under 18 teams in England/High school teams in America etc. gives me more experience than most on here who think a wednesday night at the Pitz makes them an expert. In hindsight he wished he had stuck in. He also said it was living the dream and he'd have run away from home if his parent's had tried to stop him from going when he was younger so I think it's fairly clear which side of the fence he sits on. If you're railing against pushy parents that's one thing, if you're saying you'd stop your kid from going to Barcelona's academy even if they wanted to go that's quite another. Obviously being only 20 I can't even imagine what I would do with a kid, but if he had a footballing ability that they were interested in then I would definitely send them over there, but only if they wanted to go. Having to give up football is one of the biggest regrets I have. My dad did push me quite a bit through it, but he obviously saw something in me and it was paying off with trials for teams like Liverpool and Man U. When I did finally get into the academy at Preston North End I ended up getting quite badly injured and then just never got into it again after that. It was mostly mental, as I was scared about getting injured again (and sure enough when I started playing again I managed to damage the ligaments in the same knee I injured at PNE). If my Mum or Dad had ever tried to stop me playing when I was actually getting somewhere then I would most definitely have ran off like Stevie says he would have done. As a kid you live and breathe Football, and to be in the academy of a team who were, at least at the time, pushing for promotion to one of the best leagues in the world was practically living the dream for me.

Everyone is getting the same problem. Wish I had thought of it whilst I was at home and then could have set up some sort of a connection to the network there. Oh well. How does sharing my home connection work exactly? EDIT: Also, I guess the connection and speed issues mean that online gaming is a big no-no?

Surprisingly enough, watching a video on Youtube just buffered fine when it finally loaded (it took a while for the page to load up and for everything to 'appear'). It just seems to be general non-specific internet browsing :/ Like visiting websites like this as well as Twitter/Facebook e.t.c.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but could it possibly be that I just get bad upload speeds? So downloading is fast because the DL speeds are fast, but because of the amount of people on the network the upload speeds are in some way affected meaning loading websites is slow?

Downloading a 10MB file from the BBC Website took 48.3 seconds.

It is Chrome that I am using, but tbh I don't find it much faster than Firefox. Direct file downloads seem to go fairly fast as well. Will try and download something in particular and let you know. It is just websites take an age to load and things like Twitter/Facebook are slow to refresh and update.

My internet at Uni (plugged into the wall, so a big network) is generally extremely slow when it comes to browsing the internet, meaning things like Youtube take ages to buffer, and watching a live-stream of anything is pretty much impossible. I think it is generally down to the amount of people using the network at any one time, as when I came back at Christmas and not a lot of people were back it was fairly quick to browse and what have you. Now, the only thing I don't get is that times like this when I am browsing the internet things are being slow again. However, I am downloading a Movie in BitTorrent and the speeds I'm getting are super fast - like faster than the speeds I would be getting at home. Any idea why this is? And is there anything I can do to utilise that speed in my browser?
