It really does beggar belief doesnt it, that a "respected" journalist couldnt even be arsed to use google himself. Its a well known fact that we're doing this, his own colleague George Caulkin who probably sits at the desk next to him has been involved with us from the start and if my memory serves me correctly wrote an article on how we're working to become a Trust. As for 100,000 fans here and 100,000 elsewhere paying a mere £375 for the fun if it. Hasnt this man done any homework? it may be less than an ST but you'd still need to buy one of those as well otherwise the club would die before you'd even signed the purchase contracts! Half a pint of beer a day, yes or maybe a full months mortgage/ rent to many fans, Yeah lets tell people not to pay their mortgage this month and hand it over, in fact its only about the same as a childs dinner money for a year, let them go hungry, not a problem. 200,000 fans each paying £375 and they say we're deluded and believe we're bigger than we are. The very Barcelona model he alludes to has 156,000 fans paying é115, 156k from a fanbase thats reported to be 44million worldwide (that means 0.35% are members!), for a club that are not only the Champions of Europe but definitely one of the biggest in the world. Now contrast that to a dying club, on its arse in the 2nd tier of English football, one thats been stripped of its assets and dignity by a bloke who believes a football club can be run like a cheap tat shop. Do that comparison and still believe that we can get 50k more fans than Barcelona to invest three times as much (and then some) into this club. Do those comparisons Patrick and then come to us and say "yes it will work", oh and bring your cheque for £375 with you. If its such an easy one to achieve then Im sure the name Patrick Barclay will be at the top of the donators list. Myself and Tom have seen what kind of people purport to be able to buy the club, what sorts of lunatics can attempt to get your hard earned cash, we've both sat there while Peter Lee gave his talk about how he was on the brink of managing just that, how with the fans backing and a mere £1,000.00 each we will all be sat in that hotseat over there (points out of the Irish Club window towards the Central Station). Thankfully, a permatan and ability to talk the hind legs off a donkey mean nowt once it comes to getting normal decent peoples hard earned wonga. Now is not the time for articles like this, we dont need to be told how easy it is for an idiot to purchase a football club, we've already been there, seen that and bought the book. If theres one sorry lesson we can take from the mess that is the football club we love its that any idiot can buy a football club but not just any idiot can run one. If you want to know how a football club can be ran with the inclusion of the fans then start with Supporters Direct site > http://www.supporters-direct.org, if you're interested in how that can work with Newcastle United then get along to one of our roadshows to see for yourself how we're doing it.

Local businessman plans £150 million takeover bid for Newcastle United
peasepud replied to Jimbo's topic in Newcastle Forum
Just had a read of the SMB thread, top marks to the lad I say, he pulled it off well. Thing that gets me is they think we're all sat here crying into our beer about how devastated we were to find it wasnt real, a quick scan through this entire 2 page thread should convince anyone that we werent exactly dancing in the streets -
Toon chief Llambias has his club motor repossessed

A fiver says Llambias moves out of the Jesmond Dene hotel in the near future, I bet their bills not getting paid. -
ALAN CURBISHLEY being lined up to become Newcastle boss?
peasepud replied to duo's topic in Newcastle Forum
I dont even know why we are debating it. Ashley has no intention of appointing anyone. That would cost money and hes not even willing to pay for the club to have coffee for meetings. Hughton is getting the job, he costs us nothing more to sit in. -

I believe this, from what I understand no bills are being paid by the club now, they've been running their credit to the bone form months. Classic administration action if you ask me. -
Newcastle pay Joey Barton £675,000 a year for image rights
peasepud replied to Jimbo's topic in Newcastle Forum
In seriousness, why the fuck would any club in their right mind pay Barton image rights? what advertising is he going to be doing? Although second thoughts I see it now, young player has argument with Barton, camera pans to Joey who shrugs turns away and lights up a cigar... *Hamlet music starts* then he stubs it out in his eye hmmmm not sure -
ALAN CURBISHLEY being lined up to become Newcastle boss?
peasepud replied to duo's topic in Newcastle Forum
so lets get this straight, Curbishley left West Ham because there was interference from the board and now he'd be willing to come here and work for Ashley? Did the tabloids just think "now whos the daftest appointment we can say? oh dont forget he must be a cockney, they hate cockneys them Geordies do". -
I think the point Beresford was making is that its going to take something more than managerial experience or even genius to sort us out. The logic behind Shearer is we can be pretty confident hes not going to fuck us off (us being the fans), hes not going to lie to us and hes not just in it for the money. Im unsure about Shearer as a manager, hes got no real experience and the 8 games Ive seen him take charge of havent exactly set me alight with enthusiasm but at the same time I think any other established manager under Ashley will be played for a fool and realise it quickly thereby leaving us in the same predicament we had last September.

Thats the sort of places we're looking for, the view is we'd rather do more of them to smaller audiences and therefore give a better chance for people to have their say and discuss stuff with us. As satisfying as filling the City Hall would be it wouldnt give people a chance to talk directly. Hope to see you there though

The new committee will be voted on following the change over to Supporters Trust, it was agreed at the ST meeting that it would be daft to bring in new people before that is all completed and we are a fully fledged established trust. Id guess that will be a couple of months down the line.

The next group of NUSC roadshows are in the pipeline, this is your chance to talk to imterim committee members, get an understanding of where the Club is going and have your questions answered. I believe we also had the owner of Bayern Munich stood holding an impromptu press conference about how there was no way he was selling Schweinsteiger to Rangers -

Surely anyone who is actually serious about this wouldnt announce their plans to the world a week before theyve got them sorted and made an offer? Is the world full of Ashley-esque lunatics who have never heard of playing their cards close to their chest? Poker with this lot must be a piece of piss. "I'll see your 10 and raise you 500 did I mention I have a full house, Aces and Jacks?". -
Hopefully they'll stop letting makems rule the place now then.

That vocal minority werent even that before SSN turned up, they were just a handful of the usual half pissed half stoned charvers who thought they could get on telly. SSN come along and next thing you know theyve thrust a banner in their hands and orchestrated them to chant when the camera rolls. FFS they even had to be told what to shout. SSN are the reason this club is seen in the poor light it is, the fact our stadium is in the city centre doesnt help either, if we'd been stuck out on some wasteground like Bolton or on the edge of a cesspit river like the Riverside then nobody would have been around to make their mouths go. EDIT: oh and the quote that was given to me today about this Singapore lot is "muppets, total and utter muppets". I think snakehips hit the nail on the head, they've seen a chance to get some exposure and have taken it.

You can order fried chicken online?

1,200,001 now, I took out BT broadband and telly last week and they gave me a free years worth of Setanta, all I had to pay was a tenner for the card. Im starting to think that the tenner wasnt really worth it seeing as how the TV isnt connected until next Tuesday!

Big business is the only place to get the backing from Graham Wylie is in the top 200 or so richest in the country.
