I believe that this Subroutine will do what you want Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) Dim Cell As Range For Each Cell In Target With Cell If .Column = Range("B:B").Column Then Cells(.Row, "A").Value = Int(Now) End If End With Next Cell End Sub

I can't work out if NUFC is been run at a loss, or if Ashley is syphoning off cash to bolster other parts of his holding. Probably the latter I guess, especially if we're not even going to have a £12m total spend (which is just the Milner money). Not to mention the money saved from no longer having to finance our debts. The year end figures will make interesting reading. Didnt we establish that there is no legal requirement to make these figures public? A balance sheet at the minimum will still be available from Companies House won't it? I dont know, Ive heard a few differening views on this. Im sure someone posted a fairly comprehesive answer a while back as to why he didnt need to do that. Matt?

We knew it was coming - Kinnear offered new contract
peasepud replied to Snake's topic in Newcastle Forum
I dont think they are inept, I think there is a business plan which they are sticking to that will make them money. Ineptness is something that can be turned round, being inept is making the wrong decision believing it to be the right one. These arent doing that, they are making decisions based on a different set of rules and aims to the rest of us. We want success, they want quick profit and they are going quite efficiently about that business. -

The bad stuff is true though. Oh fuck fixed my post then Can the NUSC not do something, anything to show how desperate we all feel? We need a statement to the press detailing the embarassment of Kinnears comments about signings, the disappearing season ticket and Milner money, the fact hes been offered a long term contract etc. etc At the minute we are just sitting back and taking it up the arse as MA systematically disassembles and destroys our club one day at a time. You just know we got more to come too, Given or Owen is bound to leave on January 31st The NUSC put a poll out to its members a week ago asking what they would rather do out of "Return to protesting", "Continue requests for discussion" or "Wait and see what happens in the transfer window". The vast majority were split fairly equally between "Continue requests" and "Wait and see". That was obviously the feeling a week ago, maybe now it would be totally different and members can change their answer at any time so it could change and I would imagine it will based on the shit thats going on now. So yet again, we have attempted to open dialogue between the club and fans this time trying a different route as Ashley / Laaaaalaaaa have ignored it totally. At the same time we will continue what we've started in getting questions asked, putting forward questions to members of the press for them to try and question the club. We are building up some useful, influential press contacts who will help us out when needed. Not as some will claim to get our names into the papers but to give them topics to write about, issues to ask etc. We provide the bullets and let them fire them. (Ive just realised this is the sort of things you're talking about above). My own personal belief is as follows: Shouting about this will not work and could backfire on the NUSC, if we put out some statement shouting the odds then Ashley could turn round and say that was the reason he didnt put money in "I was just about to spend £500million when I saw you didnt like me" sort of rubbish. Unfortunately, I dont believe that anything can be done to stop this transfer window panning out as its destined to. The protesting, I think will restart in earnest come the end of the window, people will then see finally that there is no great plan to turn this club around and we're going to the dogs. Admittedly, protesting then will not gain us anything towards Premiership survival, it will merely hit Ashley in his pocket and hopefully make him drop the price to get out in the Summer (if relegation doesnt do that anyway). -

In seriousness though, as Ritchie said, 98.3% of what this bloke says is bollocks. -
Expect the announcement of a "serious" bid any time now.

Time for an update..... Midway through the transfer window and I could be wrong on a couple of things..... that'll teach me to be too optimistic! January Transfer window. Out Owen (allegedly agreed a Summer move to Citeh so could be wrong here), N'Zogbia (Will go anywhere but here, Spuds, Lyon and more sniffing) Martins or Viduka (Martins injured but his agent has been making waves for a move). Given (Citeh bound) Geremi (Besiktas deal virtually signed sealed n delivered) Barton (Bolton nearly had him, Portsmouth interested too) (to date none of these contracts plus Butt, Harper and others have been agreed (Strolla has now signed a new 3 year one)) In £2 - 3million keeper £3million forward 2 other cheap foreign shite players. (I could be well out here, currently looks like nobody is coming in other than on loans) Kinnear will be given an extension to the end of the season. Neither of the £10million players that JFK spoke about last week will appear. Both have now been reported to have told us where to go. No sale will take place before the end of the season as any prospective buyers will not want the risk of relegation. (Confirmed as now taken off market) Communications Nothing will come out of the club officially. (Other than "club off market" statement this is spot on) JFK will however announce at least once a week for the next 4 weeks that he has his eye on this player, that player and a couple of others, that the chairman is backing him on the transfer front and that nobody is going nowhere. (I would say this has pretty much gone to form) Then from Christmas onwards he will go quiet and nothing other than "speculation that Owen/Martins/Given (*delete as applicable) is going nowhere." will be heard. (well I was totally wrong here like, nobody could have foreseen the complete levels of absoulte shit that has been spouted almost hourly!) Then on February 6th he will want to resign but won't because he has nowhere else to go, as a result those that slagged off Keegan for walking will slag off JFK for not going. Fans People will continue to slate the NUSC and half of A/N other board will blame all of the above on NUSC and the fact that a couple of fans made banners before the Hull game. One old bloke who should know better will re-state that the parading of a "cockney mafia out" banner at Hull was the lowpoint of his entire time supporting the Toon (he then failed to mention that fact when he kissed the arse of the bloke who paraded it) while Baggy will continue to state that MA is the best chairman this club has ever had because "hes invested quarter of a billion of his own money into the club".(Even hes started to go quiet these days) Current Laugh at Pud level: 16/01/09 - If there is it cant be heard over the weeping from every sane Newcastle fan.

Well apart from when the daft old twat says "we've put in bids of £8million....but we'll probably end up going to 10". I would say he was thick as mince if I had any belief that we actually were interested in buying the player. -

Just goes to prove the point, hes there for one reason and one reason only. To go along with whatever hes told, Wise is running the show and JFK is just a puppet, a poor old daft shite of a puppet who will end up taking all the flak while Wise gets to sit in Lahndahn with his feet up. -
lets hope hes got safe search on hes not the best of spellers

yep and what will they do with the money? Spend it on two or three good players giving them a better squad. Fuck me we are being overtaken by nothing clubs at a frightening rate now

What is a year? To most its another birthday, one more Christmas and a smattering of joy, heartache, laughter and pain. Another set of dreams created and a chance to look back on those we achieved since the same time last year. As Newcastle fans however, we have come to realise its just another collection of lost dreams, broken promises and horror at the thought of another to come. One year ago today, 16th January 2008 saw the return of Mr Keegan and with it, more importantly the return of hope and belief, too many years had gone by and too many of those dreams had evaporated. Now he was back, Newcastle went mental and the worlds media lapped it up, suddenly a drab FA Cup 3rd round replay was the fixture to be seen at. Hundreds allegedly queued for an hour to buy tickets to the game, so much so that kick off was delayed to ensure everyone got in. Most of the game was spent trying to get a glimpse into the Directors box to confirm to ourselves that HE really was back. On the back of the lift a 4-1 drubbing of Stoke ensued and normality felt to have been restored. Yes, some of us had doubts, we wondered at the logic in bringing in a man who by his own admission hadnt even watched MOTD for 4 years but frankly deep down we were just glad that something good was happening. Dreams were being constructed, flames of ambition were reignited and stability was definitely going to be king. In Keegan we had a manager that knew the club, understood the fans and was universally respected. In Mort we had a chairman who seemed to like the fans, wanted to hear what they had to say and knew how to deal with all aspects of Public Relations. In Ashley, we saw a man who had the cash and the belief that we could become a force, that one day sooner rather than later we would finally get that trophy we craved. A level head in the boardroom, a football one on the ground and a man who "just wanted to have fun" controlling it all. On the back of that around 9,000 of us have committed ourselves to the future by paying 3 years Season Tickets in advance. Not out of the goodness of our hearts admittedly but because it seemed such a good deal, give the club some extra financial clout to help rebuild and at the same time save some money on those future tickets. We didnt however believe those that said Champions League glory was just around the corner, no we had level heads and regardless of how we are often portrayed in the media we knew that this club was not the force it once threatened to be. At the same time we believed that in Mike Ashley, Chris Mort and Kevin Keegan we could return to those days of challenging for trophies within a couple of seasons. Fast forward a year, for most of us those dreams have been replaced by nightmares while hope and ambition swapped for fear and dread. The manager we all had time for is gone, a short lived reign which saw us finish the season 12th but dreaming again of a good season to come. The chairman that appeared to know what he was doing and more importantly, wanted out views on things is no more either. Replaced by a Managing Director who nobody knows, a man who has no football experience (you have to even wonder if he actually likes the game), no understanding of the area or what this club means to us as fans and more importantly absolutely no respect for us. To him we are just more punters to fleece, more willing lambs to the slaughter, like those that flock to his casino and club in SW1 we are there to be emptied of cash and told to go away until next time. Only here we dont get the courtesy of a handshake after hes robbed us, we get smirks and are ignored when we dare to speak. As for the manager? well we've gone from having one who knew what we were about and respected the world over for his achievements both as a manager and player. One who told it like it was, from standing on the steps of SJP to face the fans and explain his reasons for selling one of our beloved number 9s through to ranting emotionally on live global TV about his biggest rival. Now however, we have a manager who before retiring managed to relegate Nottingham Forest from the Championship, a manager who is willing to say whatever he is told by his paymasters and more worryingly one who cannot see for himself just what kind of crap he is spouting. One however who recognises the position we are in and to his credit now appears to be pushing for the financial help we desperately need. Day in day out, we as fans are fed what the club thinks we want to hear, stories of approaches being made for this player and that player. Amounts of money that will be spent and raised, amounts which fluctuate from one statement to the next faster than the Zimbabwean dollar. Two weeks ago we were raising 16million from the sale of three fringe players, this week its gone to selling one for 2 million. We still obviously dont want the other two players but now we dont appear to be selling them either. So what does the future hold? Personally I cant see the next 365 days being anything to write home about, the best we can hope for during January is a couple of loan signings in and manage to hold onto the players we have. The likelihood however is that we will sell one or two of our best assets and not replace them with anything like the quality they were. The James Milner fiasco will no doubt happen again and again, last minute sales of good players with no time (how unlucky) to buy a replacement. The money being promised for the next transfer window only to disappear. Personally, I cant see anything good ahead. I wait to be proven wrong on that score and sincerely hope I am but for now I see a mass exodus of players. If not this month then definitely in the Summer, as for players in? well who is seriously going to come here? which player, of any worth will be convinced by a delegation of Dennis Wise, Lambretta and JFK to join a club that is only going in one direction. Not wanting to piss on Miss Yazz's pretty little 80s chips but the only way for us is definitely not up so I ask you all to raise a glass to the next 12 months lets hope they are nothing like the last ones.

A bit of sun thats what he needs, poor bairn, that and a nice bit home cooking. Locking himself away in a cold St James' office for days on end juggling figures cant be good for anyone. -

He cares too much for the club to let anything bad happen It's him I worry about if truth be told. He's working so hard to get us out of this crisis I'm concerned that he's stopped looking after himself! shadow of his former self tbh -

Because he wont do it, this to me is a definite sign that we are not going to spend any money in this window. These are (imho) stalling tactics, saying this will get certain people thinking "well hes not going to do that unless he spends cash, this is going to be good" when really its only meant to give us the feel-good factor with the belief that he can spin some more bollocks come Feb 2nd about how unlucky they were and how no matter how much they offered for player x or y they were gazumped and how it wasnt their fault Owen, Martins, Barton and Given left with literally hours of the window remaining and no time to spend the cash. -
I wonder how many "jokey" bids we've made so far then?
