This is doing the rounds at the minute, Ive heard from a couple of different sources on this. Like people seem to be saying though a lot of the transactions are down London way. Thats not a "cockney mafia" dig but just appears to be one of those strange coincidences. Either way though, if there is a scam going on through the box office then it needs to be sorted and sharpish.

at the end of the day anyone who is willing to buy a football club from shepherd and hall without due dilligence cannot call themselves a businessman. If he had done that then we wouldn't have been in the mess we are now. He would have either walked away or negotiated a better purchase price leaving more to invest wisely.
-
Well funnily enough you've managed to make it up, thick fuck.
-
Then I take it all back, the mans obviously a saint who bought us purely to ensure that a national institution and household name didnt die. Sorry for calling you a fat twat Ash.....

What a load of shite. The debt on the stadium had to be repaid- it had nothing to do with Ashley or any advice he was given. Like the £100m loan Ashley has made to the club, any change of control gives the right for the debt to be called. The investors who had loaned the money took the opportunity to get their cash back now rather than later- so it would have made no difference. The little analogy is similar nonsense. Ashley had a large mound of cash after selling off half of Sports Direct for £800m or so. He put his own cash in to the club because he felt it would be better to do that than invest his £100m elsewhere at 5% and borrow at 7% (borrowings in the club's parlous state would not come cheap). So in fact he was managing his finances sensibly. You're talking rot.....fact. Just wanting to play devils advocaat (or whatever) but could it not be more prudent in the football world to continue paying 7% interest on a mortgage and invest the 100million on new players. That investment would in turn, increase revenue in ticket and merchandising, increase the clubs value overall and most importantly get us higher up the table which in turn would automatically generate us additional income in TV revenue and possibly a European place allowing us to finance the interest payments?

Then that needs to be raised at the meeting and voted on, get a solid agreement across the board. Otherwise all we'll have is that bloke from that other site sitting at home on a Saturday afternoon. I dont agree with it but if its whats decided then I go along with that. Personally Id prefer the idea of the silent treatment, or the entire ground pulling out a paper at kick off and reading that. All wearing black. Those sort of things to me make statements, Not going to the game can be put down to apathy or fickle fans. Going and showing our dissatisfaction in a visible way is different.

Seriously though, this is the chance for those that want to do something to do it, its not a members meeting, its not a recruitment drive (although there will be no complaints if people do join up). Its a chance for all aspects of NUFC fans to come together and decide on a collective way forward. Whether that way be boycotts, marches, silences or for that matter a letter of support to the owners. We come together, thrash out the agreed way forward and then work together, NUSC, websites, blogs, fanzines, forums etc all joining up to do something big. Its also a chance to have your moan, those that have sat and argued the toss about the NUSC, you quite understandably have your reasons, your beliefs whatever. This is your chance to make them heard and get answers. As for those that cant make it, those at work or the many of you that live outside of Toon (and no Stevie I dont mean Gatesheeeed) I am looking into a way to get you participating too. All NUFC fans views are valid, all are welcome.

Im looking to do a live internet radio broadcast but am not quite sure where to start, I know I can use shoutcast and probably need winamp for that, does anyone have experience of this?

I heard it too, from a fairly reliable source. The one logical reason I can see for not playing him is that we are holding him until its 100% necessary ie with a few games of the season to go and absolutely nobody to play instead. It did make me ask the question last time though, imagine we're 4th bottom last game of season, Owen, Oba, Shola and Carroll are crocked and Xisco has played 9 games already. Win and we stay up, do you reckon they'll play him and pay the extra or will they want to save the cash and play Duff up front?

I know it's hard when you find out that if it wasn't for Ashley guaranteeing to support us financially we would be in administration but you've got to take it on the chin. I'd have a modicum of respect for you (not that I'm suggesting you're arsed about that) if you didn't go hiding when he was doing things like offering Kinnear the job on a permanent basis or trying to flog Given. But where would you and your petty point scoring be then? Thats the thing, before I entered the thread I knew he'd have posted in yet strangely two weeks with nowt beforehand. Thing is Baggy mate, I hope you're working plenty overtime to cover the obvious gambling debts you're going to have, if nothing else these accounts prove we aint gonna spend a penny this month (as if anyone other than you believed we would) My argument stands btw, theres no way Mike Ashley bought this club to save it from ruin, he bought us to make money, now that his original plan to do that is fucked (ie more debt than he realised (own fault for not doing due diligence), a credit crunch and a fanbase that hates him (Baggio excepted of course)) then he goes to plan b. The bit I find incredible is that these accounts run to July, the time when Keegan was here, the time preceeding the infamous transfer window yet the talk coming out of the club was all good, there'll be money to spend, KK was obviously given that view. I believe these accounts to be accurate Im not disputing that however the ones that will be interesting will be next Julys. Those I cannot wait to see pulled apart.

Erm, isn't that article referring to even earlier accounts than the ones in the OP? The lad who posted the stuff I copied from N-O is an accountant and appears to know his stuff - far more than me, or some guy from The Journal I imagine. It appears to me (from a totally uneducated eye, I admit) that Ashley has put into NUFC almost a quarter of a BILLION pounds of his own money. Does he really deserve the vitriol he gets? Yes he does, he didnt pump that money in for the love of the football club he did it for business reasons. These accounts do not show what he is taking out of the club, I dont know what that is maybe its nothing but then again maybe hes charging the club even more interest than the banks were. We are not debt free, we have merely changed banks. If anything we are in a more precarious position now than we were before. A bank will follow a code, a bank will close your account and demand the money back if we fail to pay the debt back. What a bank wont do is either get bored with you and decide they want it back or throw their toys out of the pram and demand you do certain things to raise the finance. I still believe that his plan all along was to buy the club, refinance the debts take 10 or 20 million per annum in dividends and interest on that debt for a couple of years then sell us on at a profit. Maybe even at the start he believed that he was going to take us onwards and upwards while doing that but then he employed a team of total and utter fuckwits to run the show. More importantly he deserves our contempt because of the way in which he treats us the fans, he sees us as nothing more than willing mugs who will generate the cash regardless.

What's going to be fucking awesome is when we dick around for another four or five days and then sell Given to Shitty for 10 million, but don't have enough time to get any other deals in place before the window closes. "Wait until summer though, lads!" Will be the cry... Thast the thing, Ashley will be doing his dinger, "whats the use of another £12million in the bank lads, I wanted to spend this and more on some quality players....oh well c'est la vie"

I reckon he'll draw a large crowd.

For 18 years my cat Millie (black n white named after Milburn) has been with me, through thick n thin, shit times and the good times she's always been there. Today however I had to make the decision to have her put to sleep, probably the hardest yet at the same time easiest decision Ive ever had to make. Hard because losing such a good friend after all the years but easy because I knew I was doing what was best for her. Those that say "it was only a cat" however will never understand how loyal and loving these creatures can be and what a loss they are when suddenly they're not there. Devastated tbh
-
or hes being brought in to replace Oba, Owen and Viduka. Floccari and Shola just saying the words would strike fear into any defence.
-
Wouldn't mind seeing more of Krul TBF If the deal is good let Given go i think. a few mil and a player Depends what happens to the few mil though.
-
cant compete with city and there insane transfer dealings , but the likes of spurs ect we should be cant think of one team thats invested less than us since ashley arrived , anyone name one ? Blyth Spartans....hold on I think they may have bought a new lawnmower at some stage
-
Looks like its not included. The accounts were filed to 30th June according to the first post, interestingly the sale of season tickets was delayed last year and we literally had days to make our minds up, get the cash and pay up. Anyone have a recollection as to when exactly that was? and how far did it differ to normal years? This bit confuses me though: How? these accounts were for the period upto 30/06/08 therefore (in my non accountant head) nothing after that date should be included?

Can you explain where I said you were lining Ashley's pockets? You cant possibly disagree with me 110% when I dont even have that opinion, our support is fuckin shit, anyone that denies that hasnt been going too long. It would be great to see those still going, actually support the team and be the 12th man we used to be, but they're all too busy with their individual scapegoats, booing and jeering the first misplaced pass or cross. Its little wonder some of the players want out and are reluctant to sign new deals, they can see whats going on it appears. You did ask last time and you did get a reply, you can either do what I told you to last time, or not, its no skin off my nose. I would have thought you'd made it perfectly clear here ... And you havent given me any proof that you dont go, none at all. Ive been to the site and theres nowt I can see there. Post it, post it all here explaining how you can prove you own a season ticket and dont use it.

Directors box has plenty empty seats these days. Otherwise just stay clear of Level 7 singing corner and you'll be fine. -
What happened to the days of trips to Portugal and Spain to bond and train?
-
I think the opposite could happen for me, I may become more selective for home games but attend more away ones than now. That way I dont get the overall feeling of doom that I now get when entering that stadium, I wont feel like Im somehow selling my soul to the devil by attending.

Mike Ashley knows that people who have paid and arent going will not be renewing and not giving him another penny, he may be laughing, but not as much as the saps still going and still lining the pricks pockets even after he's blatantly taking the piss out of them. Me not going has zero affect on the players, dont be so fuckin stupid. People like you are the reason he's continuing to take the piss out of us, for the 4th consecutive window, you're too fuckin stupid to understand what can be done and absolutely clueless as to what has happened. I wont waste my time any further on here with people like you, every one of us has a choice, but I wont be assisting Ashley in tearing apart our club. Good look Kev, something is better than nothing. So can you explain to me exactly how Im lining Ashleys pockets by going to the game? I have paid for my season ticket upfront, regardless of the fact that I disagree 110% with you on the fact we should actually be behind the team at times like this not ignoring them. When I goto the game I go in at 2:55 and go straight to my seat, at half time I will not buy a pie or a pint, at the Spurs game I had a stinking headache and forgot to get water beforehand no matter how bad though I wouldnt buy a bottle in there. At the end of the game I leave, not a penny is handed from me to Ashley and Co during that time however my support is given to those on the field. Im sure Ive asked you this before and got no reply, prove to me that you dont go to the games even though you have a season ticket. Prove that somewhere in your house on a Saturday afternoon there is a smartcard sitting in a drawer unused.
